We live on the other side of town, but whenever we're in East Palmdale, we make it a point to stop at El Mora. We had visited once before for dinner and loved the food, so when we needed a quick breakfast before work, we knew exactly where to go. We arrived around 9 a.m. and were greeted right away with friendly smiles. The restaurant was very clean, and we were told to sit wherever we liked. We ordered the menudo, a sopes plate with rice and beans, and a breakfast burrito. They also brought complimentary chips and salsa to the table. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The menudo was especially delicious and was served with fresh cilantro, onions, and lemons. The sopes were excellent, and every dish tasted homemade and well prepared. What really stands out about El Mora is the service. Everyone who works there is friendly, upbeat, and welcoming. Our waitress checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed, and we never felt rushed. The atmosphere was pleasant, with great music playing overhead. Although the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, within about 15 minutes it had filled up, which says a lot about how popular this place is. Excellent food, excellent service, and a very clean restaurant. We will definitely continue coming back whenever we're on that side of town. Highly recommended! read more

Was driving through and this little spot came up. What a great choice. I tried a variety of things. 2 tacos de carnitas they were delicious very tasty and 2 birria queso taco. These were very good and they didn't hold back on the meat. And one mulita de pastor. Very good the young lady tha works here recommended it and it did not disappoint. Service was excellent. My new go to place... been looking for 3 months now for a place to eat when I work in town. I was welcomed right away, my order was taken and food came out quickly. The family and I were in the mood to try a new place, and we were hoping to not have a 45 minute wait (sorry other place... a special-needs Son, who's hungry, is NO place you want to be after even a 20-minute wait... no matter how good the seafood cocktails are). That being said, Super-Wifey spotted this small but nice place on Yelp, and it was literally across the street! And with good reviews! Hit 'D' for Drive, Dad. And, there was no wait! Their menu is not too terribly extensive at first glance, as compared to some places, but that's not a bad thing as they have most of the go-to dishes covered after reading through. I usually get a carne asada burrito in a new place, or carnitas tacos. You know, the required staples. If a place can do those well then you're in good hands. The Mexican food litmus test. Well, everything we tried had loads of flavor... fresh tasting, not too salty, just spot-on. The offspring had the chicken nachos and also the quesadilla with shredded chicken. They looked great-on-the-plate which is always a good sign, right..? Wifey had the taco combo plate, and these were main-dish taco's, not the smaller street taco's (which I think they have also), and she was all thumbs up. I had a carne asada burrito mojado (wet) with 1/2 red, 1/2 green sauce, which tasted great... lots of flavor, a bit of spice on the red sauce (not too caliente, thanks) and the green sauce was very good, with lots of fresh tomatillo flavor. And I had a half pineapple/half tamarindo combo drink that was so fruity. First time on that flavor mix. And I'm guessing here, but I think they are a family business, and a very nice family indeed. The best places often are, it seems. They do take-out orders as well, and we're going to be ringing them up the next time a Mexican food craving hits us. There are a LOT of great Central and South American places in our local area to choose from; Mexican, Salvadoran, grilled Pollo (and NOT the crazy chicken place, thank you...) and Seafood specialists, take your choice. It was an ok place. My first time coming here, not sure I would come again. We ordered the breakfast huevos a la Mexicana plate, chile relleno plate, a wet burrito and three keto shrimp tacos. Chile relleno was ok. Burrito was great. Shrimp keto taco needs more crunch and more shrimp, they were stingy with the shrimp. The Mexican eggs needs major improvement. It had way more onions than anything else. It seemed like I had a whole onion and one egg. when I informed the waitress she said "oh sorry about that" and walked away then when paying I asked the cashier for a discount she said "but did you eat everything?" I answered "no, we didn't eat everything because it was mainly onions!! We left half the plate." She didn't say anything and charge me full price. Then after she charged me, she mumbled "well. I guess on your next visit we can give you a discount." Now, El Mora is so good that I selfishly want to remain a bit unknown. But that is unfair to the resturant, it's employees, and all of you who have not had the pleasure. My mom suggested El Mora for dinner and I was very impressed by the service and most importantly the food! When the queso birria taco craze hit LA I had a few here and there; including the Disney California ones which are severely overrated and overpriced. I almost drove back to Anaheim to ask for a refund after trying these authentic, savory and delicious queso birria tacos. I was upset that any other business fooled me into thinking that theirs were the best. I should have known better of course, the best anything never gloats or boasts so I knew that this small family owned business was going to be great when I walked in. Doordashed 4 quesa birria tacos w/ consome and two asada tacos. They were amazing! Best place I've tried in Palmdale. Got both the green and red salsa and they both hit perfectly. Cute little hole in the wall restaurant that you don't know is there. Quick fast service with a home feel. Food although it came super fast felt fresh and was tasty. Green salsa was good and red was super spicy. I liked that they give you a self serve little set for your salsas. I'll be coming back again someday to try something else on the menu. This is a hidden gem for sure! The older lady behind the counter (I didn't catch her name) was very polite and inviting. She asked if we had been there before and of course how we heard of the restaurant. The ambiance is decent size but very cute decor. The food was amazing we ordered a birria taco plate. The portions were good and the birria was on point. I had a carnitas torta and that also was delicious and had leftovers to take home. My niece ordered cheese enchiladas and that plate was also a good portion and she said it was delicious as well. The salsas were also good one green was less spicy and the red was spicy but both had great flavor. They are very attentive and you can tell the staff are all well trained and in tune. My son had taken me for my birthday and the staff overheard that it was someone's birthday and the super generous lady gave me a flan and played las mañanitas for me on Bluetooth which I found to be thoughtful and goes to show the attention to the detail from her and her staff. I will definitely be coming back and telling everyone I know about this place. They're located behind pollo loco in the Palmdale AV college parking lot to give you an idea of where it is.
