I was so excited to come here because this is a duo restaurant + bake shop, serving Southern favorites. Upon entrance, I was greeted by the staff members in such a warm, hospitable manner. Since I traveled across the U.S. and flew in from California, I was quite famished. I ordered the following: * Hamburger Steak Entree (angus hamburger meat, mushrooms, onions & gravy): Selected the two sides - Mac & Cheese and Turnip Greens. Also came with a green salad (added boiled eggs) and a bread roll. A soft drink was even included with the entree. * Bowl of Seafood Gumbo All of the food was beyond palatable. Everything was super flavorful, and I enjoyed it all from the start to the finish. I was especially quite impressed with the taste of Turnip Greens and Seafood Gumbo (top favorites). The portion of the meal was generous and filling. I was feeling full and satisfied after consumption. I wasn't able to try any of the desserts. However, it was nice to know that there was a variety of freshly-baked sweet treats available. Options included cakes, cookies, pies, pound cakes, and breads. The ambiance of the restaurant gave it a family-oriented, neighborhood diner. The dining room was spacious, with a lot of tables and chairs available. The overall feel was cozy and inviting. From the pleasant customer service of the staff to the delicious food, Primos Cafe definitely delivers. I highly recommend stopping by.

I had the Friday special of fried catfish and my wife went with a burger. You order upon entering then get your own drink and choose your own seats. My two sides were mashed potatoes and turnip greens and my wife subbed mashed potatoes for fries. Our meals arrived quickly and we dug in. My catfish was excellent with a crisp cornmeal coating and delicious flavor. Mashed potatoes were also outstanding. The yeast roll was so fresh and tasty and paired well with my meal. My wife really enjoyed her burger and stated it was perfectly cooked and the vegetables were very fresh. She also loved the mashed potatoes. Today's pie was peanut butter but we had no room for dessert. Apparently Primos has other locations and I would strongly recommend this restaurant

I asked, and she had arrived at 4 AM, I'm guessing she is a high school, junior or senior. She was most pleasant quite accommodating for the two boxes of fresh donuts I bought.

I'm not sure how long it's been here, in the exact same location, but I'm 41 years old and I know it's been there for as far back as my memory will allow me to go. I remember being my kindergarten class from McLauren Heights Baptist Church coming here for a field trip when I was only 5 years old. I can still remember them showing us how they made the donuts and getting to try them while they were hot and fresh. It's odd, the things we remember, isn't it? Anyway, that was when I was 5 and I know this donut shop was here even before that. Basically, my entire life (and probably before that), the good folks here come in around 1am every morning and start making the donuts. They actually open their doors around 3am every morning and yes, being the nightowls we are, we have been there at 3am to get the donuts!! =) You don't necessarily have to get there at 3am, but if you want these goodies, you'd better go early because they start selling out quick every morning. My favourite are the donut holes. Nom Nom Nom. If you want donut holes, you'd better get there really, really early. Usually long before 7am those things are gone! In addition to their awesome donuts, they sell all types of biscuits (they've done this since I was a child too... I still remember eating their sausage biscuits with my daddy when I was a little girl). They have sausage patty biscuits, sausage link biscuits, ham biscuits, and others. The biscuits are homemade. I highly recommend you try one! The prices here can't be beat. It's hard to believe there are still places where you can get great food without having your wallet raped. Speaking of money, they do take cards now, but there's a minimum purchase of $5 to use your card. The employees are all super great. You're definitely gonna experience some of the warm southern charm while you're here.
