It is hard to make a review on a County Government. My review is not for the County Government but rather on my experience visiting the County Government Building. 1. There is a parking garage which I prefer to use any day when needing to visit. Their fees start at $2 after 10 minutes. They accept both credit card and cash. The garage safely supports vehicles up to 7 feet high. You may park outside on the street and use meters but during the week it gets complicated to find parking lot. 2. The security team is friendly and informative yet this does not mean they will let people/items pass by them. They will scan you and your belongings to ensure everyone is safe inside the building. 3. There is a cafeteria. 4. There is a library open to the public on the very last floor. 5. The place is large and clean. 6. The staff is very attentive and provide informative costumer service, but they are not attorneys nor your legal counselors. 7. Depending why you are visiting is where you will be going. Lower level are Child Support Services. Registry in the matters of Marriage, death, divorce is also in the lower level. Court mid levels, library and actual marriage upper level. read more

I recently came to the courthouse to get a copy of my birth certificate. If you aren't able to come downtown, you can also get your birth certificate at two other satellite courthouses. One's in the northeast and the other is in the lower valley going towards Socorro. Keep in mind, this is for people who were born in El Paso, Texas. A birth certificate can also be ordered online. It takes longer to receive in the mail. Anyway, everything happened quickly enough. I parked in a parking lot across the street for an hour. I still had time left over when I got out! There are security guards who check your purse, pockets, etc. when you walk in. Your purse, back pack, etc. goes into a machine. It's like the ones you see at an airport before boarding the plane. The county clerk's office is downstairs to your right. You fill out a form about the purpose of your visit and get in line. The clerk was helpful and efficient. The only thing is...my name is misspelled on my birth certificate. I didn't even know it until he pointed it out. This is the office you also come to if you need a death certificate. The birth certificates are $23 and the death certificates are $21. I wanted an additional copy but he said it would be $23 more. Online it says $4 for additional copies. My review is on the county clerks office: ZERO STARS- They should be ashamed of themselves. From the bottom to the top. An error was made by the county clerks office on a marriage certificate years ago. It was never a problem until it was. All we needed them to do was AMEND their error. Asking for a kidney would have been easier. I brought it to the attention of the supervisor there... a woman named " Charlie". She took me in circles for months. She asked me to go to two different departments knowing very well I wouldn't get help there. I was in The correct department all along, she just didn't want to help me, nor did she want to look at my documents . I did exactly as she advised me to do with no results ever. I spent a lot of money following her instructions- no results. I asked to speak to her supervisor "Anthony Bedoya" after leaving him numerous messages, he sends me an email saying " He spoke to Charlie, and she's right" She's Right? Right about what?? The man has no human decency. I asked for a callback many times, and he never called me back. I wanted to discuss my situation with him, but he didn't and wouldn't call me. Yet, later he would say " he spoke to me" and that I spoke to at least 4 other people from his office. The man is a lier, and word vomit. I didn't speak to anyone else other than the operators, so if he has more than four operators then that's who " I spoke to". My messages were directed at him. Never called me. I continue " the chain of command" Bedoya's supervisor is " Delia Briones" after leaving her numerous messages, she can't be bothered to call me back either. She's "extremely busy" yeah ok. I tried to reach her on her very busy Facebook page where she is constantly posting. She just deletes me. So unless you want to tell her how beautiful she is, or that she's doing a great job, she'll delete, and block you. Anyway, I kept leaving messages at her office, finally she calls me.... not to help me, or ask me what's wrong, but to tell me " I'm wasting her time" in those words! "I am wasting her time"! AS IF" her time is worth more than mine. She told me that whatever it is her people told me, she will not go against them. she has no idea why I'm calling or asking for help, yet she will not go against them. Classic one hand covers the other. Geeze, I wonder what happens behind closed doors? Doesn't she work for the people?? Or does she only work for the people when she's campaigning, and needs our vote? This place needs a staff clean up in the worst way. Starting with Delia Briones, as they say " monkey see, monkey do. My advice would be to look over their shoulder at all times, and triple check that the names are correct, spelling is correct, even an initial is a problem. Don't leave their office without inspecting your documents. No matter how busy they are, because once they make a mistake, God help you in getting it fixed. Do not trust them. read more
