Working with him to plan for the initial cocktail hour, the introduction of the wedding party through a formal dinner and then dancing helped make it special for us and our guests! Our reception hosted a great mix of 20 through 80-year-old people and Chris found the right music for everyone. Nobody left the dance floor all night! And his orchestration of the Dad/Daughter Dance, Bride/Groom and the speeches was exceptional. Chris is both a showman and a tremendous professional whose ability to use his microphone to make everyone feel welcome both surprised us and had us and our family members not wanting to leave! We were both surprised and pleased to work with him. Chris and his team were all very courteous and DJ'd with professionalism and class. The music was perfect for all 5 hours of the event, where everyone felt they were included in the celebration. From one parent to another, do not be misled by him. I usually do not leave reviews, but this was worth my time and attention to save someone else from the disaster I had to endure. I hired Eddie's DJ services in June 2024 for my son's graduation party at my home, and to my disappointment, he was extremely unprofessional and I deeply regret ever hiring him. I relied on his reviews and videos for his creditability and that was a grave error in judgment. When I spoke to him over the phone he seemed profressional until about two weeks out from the party. I had sent him my updated music playlists with specific questions by email on May 31st and then I followed up with several text messages from that day forward and he finally answered my questions on June 5th by text and he was confused about which music playlists update I was referring to. On top of that, he was overly concerned about the weather even though he, his assistants (2), and equipment was under cover in our backyard and in addition, I had 4 canopies on standby in case of rain. I was monitoring the weather closely and I wasn't concerned. The weather forecast for rain 2 weeks out from the party started at 12% and gradually decreased to 0% and it was a sunny day. He kept reminding me about the weather and just how expensive his equipment was and how I would be liable for any damages - not very reassuring. I thought that if this was the worst thing that happened during my communications with Eddie, then I could look the other way and chalk it up to a simple misunderstanding, but I was wrong. He showed up to my son's party about 45 minutes late. His assistants were at my home before him, but you wouldn't know this because the music volume was so low that I might as well have used my own speakers. I asked the main assistant about Eddie's whereabouts because he was already late and he said Eddie was running behind and that he'll be here soon. The assistant behaved in a professional manner and was apologetic for Eddie's absence. I checked my phone texts and calls to see if Eddie had tried to reach me and not a single notification. He failed to communicate that he was going to be late, that his assistants would be at my home first without him, and that he was picking up the lights. Several guests, family members, and my graduating senior all approached me and told me that Eddie was looking for me and that he was angry and throwing childlike fits because he couldn't access my driveway with his equipment. Again, he failed to communicate in advance that he would need to park in my driveway, which I intended to block the entrance of my driveway with my cars in order to leave that space open for guests to hangout. I was very busy trying to host my son's party and I was in the kitchen when I heard and saw Eddie trying to get my attention by waving his hand and angrily saying "if you want music, move your cars!" in front of my guests. He was beyond disrespectful and lacked any sense of the the word self-control and human decency. I went outside to the backyard to address his behavior and lack of manners and found myself arguing with him. He was nonapologetic for being very late and for his rude behavior to me and my guests. He had a very combative attitude and raised his voice as he cussed and flailed his arms about with eyes bulging out, to make his point while trying to talk over me and proving that he didn't do anything wrong. He was drenched in sweat and if i didn't know any better, i would've said he was probably high on drugs. He then proceeded to threaten me by saying that he was going to pack up all his equipment and leave my son's party if I didn't pay the remainder balance right away. I had paid the deposit in advance to lock in the date and time and the balance was to be paid on the day of the party. This is after he told me that I could pay him anytime during the party or after since i was very much occupied with hosting. Guests who were standing near us witnessed his unacceptable and shameless demeanor and asked throughout the party if things were ok and if I was ok. I had to work really hard to calm my nerves and that of this overgrown child, and take the high road because I had to remind myself of the bigger picture, my son. I was more than very angry and if the party was just my family I would've shown Eddie the door the moment he addressed me in the kitchen. However, we had family friends and my son's friends over. I paid him right away to keep the peace and to keep him from ruining my son's party by leaving without a care for me as a customer and for my son. I had to undergo that evening by pretending like everything was alright. Most people had no idea about what happened that evening because I did my best to shelter them from Eddie's vulgar interactions with me. I felt sick to my stomach

We researched many DJ's because, as a gay couple, we wanted someone who was familiar with a same sex couple and could provide what we needed for a Mexican, Jewish gay wedding. A tall order, yes, but we were hopeful Manny would be the right choice for us. I'm sorry to say that this was not the case. At first, Manny was responsive via email, although not always adding the necessary information or CCing myself and my partner. We talked with him on the phone about what we wanted, and although there was some hesitation that we would be too untraditional, he assured us he would be willing to accommodate. (to give context, we had no wedding party and no formal introductions because of the nature of our family dynamics) I worked diligently to create a comprehensive do and do not playlist as well as a timeline. A week before the wedding I received a passive aggressive email saying that I needed to make sure I was adding all the information from past emails. From my perspective, he is the professional and should have done this himself. As a bride I had more than enough on my plate. Then, the day of, when one of our guests, a sister to be precise, asked for a song he rudely rejected her request. I had been VERY specific to play ANYTHING a guest requested. Then, I asked for him to play the Hora before the older guests left, it had gotten late, and he insisted to let the music play out. I know this is typical but there is also a way to fade music.... I was not happy, as well, with the choice of Hora he played. I should have been more specific to say "play TRADITIONAL Hora" but I did not know I needed to specify this. He played a very modern, English version which was fine but would not have been my go-to. Manny did not command the room. I asked him to make announcements that were important and, when I noticed my guests were not paying attention, I took the microphone and announced it myself. This was fine, as I'm a performer, but I wish he would have taken the opportunity to command the room. I know he was afraid no one would dance but, when not many people were, instead of baiting our guests he seemed to give up and become rude. I asked him for one last request, to take the microphone to make a surprise to my wife from one of our guests and he took the time to say to me "I have 8 minutes left". 8 minutes. He was unwilling to stay for even 5 minutes longer than what we paid. I find this to be rude and unprofessional, our photo booth man stayed for an hour extra and didn't charge us because he was having fun. I think it's all a matter of perspective - Manny chose not to have fun and that showed in his performance. This did not ruin our wedding, nothing could have, but it certainly didn't add to it and that is what is so disappointing. I now understand why many people opt out of the expense of a DJ and this saddens me. I was hoping to give this man an opportunity that I think he truly missed out on.
