Super friendly staff who greeted us enthusiastically! The inside is bigger than I expected after seeing pictures here on yelp. They have tons of tables! Everything we ordered was pretty good! The salsa is mild and chunky but had great flavor. We got blended drinks and you could definitely taste the alcohol. They weren't weak, which sometimes happens with blended drinks. We ordered steak picado, chicken chimichanga, chicken + cheese enchiladas and a side of flautas. Everything was delicious! The cheese enchiladas were better than the chicken. The sauce is very good! The only thing lacking flavor were the chicken flautas. They come with chicken and peppers, no cheese in these ones. We were happy with our food and walked out satisfied! This review is for the service only. Came in to get take out on a Sunday night. Three male servers just keep on walking by me avoiding eye contact. However, dine in customers were immediately welcomed and seated. After about 10 minutes wait, one server finally met up with me at the check out counter, took my order and rung me up. Then when he saw I did not leave a tip, everything went downhill, as if Elsa came in to freeze the resto. Cold, rude and no thank yous. Oh well! Food was good though, but service.... Nah! read more

Party of 6 for a birthday dinner during the week and had a pleasant experience. Chips n salsa 9/10. Service was decent and all plates that were ordered came out in a timely manner. Okay so I went to my favorite Mexican food place EL PERICO..first when we got there this young waiter he didn't have a name tag on the table didn't have only 1 set of silverware & no napkins...nd then he took our drink order keep in mind this happened on Monday January 5th at 3pm- 4:30 pm..so this waiter young guy spoke english..he took only our drink order soo far..then brings our drinks but no extra silverware!! Then he leaves just as fast as we can even say anything and that day they were slow because I heard a waitress there tell another employee that she knew it was gonna be slow..so then we finally had to flag down our waiter because he keeps hiding in the backroom!! And when he comes to take our food order our waiter looks annoyed I really wanted to say something to him but my daughter just said not to say anything and later talk to manager plus don't leave a tip..when he brought our food I ordered soft tacos with carnitas..thats what I always order...but this time when they brought my tacos the carnival were burned !! I couldn't really see at first because it was covered high with way too much guacamole!!! I don't know what happened this day but the service was terrible!!! When I did finally see our waiter of course he was laughing coming out of the backroom!!!! I told him about my tacos being burned And our waiter told me that their always served like that!!! I couldn't believe he was being so difficult. I told him I always order the soft tacos ..and no they are never served burnt! So he was bothered by me saying that and he said do umyou want a different order & I said no I want my order except not burnt!!! We walked in to Kaela and the other girl talking they asked how many we said 2. Her response was sit anywhere. We waited 5 minutes to see if they were going to bring us a menu or even Acknowledge us. Nope they continued to Carry on talking. So I got up to grab a menu that's when the server came a said I got it. Sat them down took are drink order. They didn't really pay much attention to anyone that was seated. When I went to pay I told Kaela that the service sucked she had an attitude. I know they count on there tips But you need to give your all to earn that tip. Sense there conversation was more important than earning a tip I didn't feel either one of them earned it so I left her Zero. Visited upland right before heading up to mount Baldy. Stopped at this nice little Mexican restaurant. Was seated immediately. Plenty of seating nice traditional Mexican restaurant, TVs to watch sports, very clean. Plenty of parking space since it shares an entire lot with other shopping venues. Was greeted promptly and my order was taken within minutes of sitting. Menu- plenty of options including seafood. I ordered the Chile relleno and had my plate literally within 10 minutes. I was told if we were a minute after 5:00 you would give our table away. We made it! Our waitress was the best. She was very polite and we really received great care. We love this place! This is our go-to neighborhood Mexican restaurant. We read some bad reviews for this place and I don't agree with any of them! I've been of Mexican descent pretty much my whole life and I grew up with grandma and mom's cooking. Ok, so no one cooks like those ladies did but it comes in a close second to them. My wife and I judge Mexican restaurants by their rice and beans. If u can't make good rice and beans, a side that goes on to just about every plate, then you're doing it wrong. The rice and beans here are pretty good. They don't skimp on the cheese either. Tonight, we had two micheladas that were huge and tasty. They always start u off w chips and salsa. We've been coming here for a while now and I think the salsa has gotten even better thru the years! It's chunky and tasty but not spicy... but they will bring you some fiery red sauce if u ask!! I had the shrimp enchiladas and I loved them. They were pretty generous with the shrimp too. Not the little frozen quarter size shrimp but about 5 or 6 med-large shrimp in each enchilada. My wife ordered a three item combo plate (so we could have Mexican food for breakfast) and she loved it. They don't mind special orders like sauce on the side, extra plate, side of green sauce, or whatever else u might want. So yeah, all prices have gone up everywhere after COVID and because burger flippers need to make $20 an hour but I still think that El Perico is very reasonable. With the two very large micheladas, our two dinners (and breakfast tomorrow) was under $70. If u do the math, including breakfast tomorrow, that's under $20 a person. The bartenders are really good and the wait staff is awesome. We never have any problems with the service. They are attentive and always cool w special requests and we rarely have a wait time to be seated. I highly recommend this place if ur in the area and you love Mexican food. ...if u just lived here from Montana or Kentucky, you might want to try Del Taco first and work your way up! read more

I really enjoyed their enchilada sauce and refried beans flavored. Their tortilla tasted fresh. I got my order togo and they gave me a small bag of chips and some salsa.
