So, when we were forced to evacuate our comfortable little home due to a plumbing issue, I brought a bag of El Pollo Loco to my hungry girl at her request. It was delicious! The drive thru was unbelievably fast, I almost didn't have to slow down. The parking lot looked pretty spacious. So with the ambiance and service big positives I will turn to the food. I had the chicken (of course) burrito. I like to drench each bite in either the red or green salsa (included). I was shocked at how quickly it disappeared. Yum. My girl got the three piece chicken with beans and corn and tortillas. I added the regular size guacamole and chips. The chips are really, really good. The guacamole is world class, it just begs for some hot sauce. If they offered a Margarita I would give them five stars. El Pollo Loco is not a crazy option when you are near the end of your rope and you need to eat something tasty and fast. read more

Awful, disappointed tasteless meal! Being an El Pollo loyal fan for many years, I'm thinking about giving up on this fast food chain! I ordered 16 pc family meal, The chicken must've been sitting on the grill for who knows how long, the skin and the meat is dry and tough! On top of that, tasteless! No flavor whatsoever! They offer a bunch of chicken options whether it's your traditional 2-4 piece, bowls, burritos and even tacos. I was pretty surprised by their tacos actually, definitely my favorite item on the menu. Pricing wasn't bad but it did take me about $20 to get full (a 2 piece meal, a small pollo bowl and a taco). Drive-thru is very fast! I explained to the cashier my coupon was for a "combo" so it included the drink. $8 chopped salad combo $6 side of Mac n cheese Equals $14 plus tax right? I was charged $18. Didn't think about till I had already drove away. Wasn't given a receipt after I paid, or in my bag, But I'm pretty sure I was over charged. I gave 2 stars because my kids loved the Mac n cheese and my ice tea was refreshing. If I get sick, I will let you know . "If" I come back I'll stick to the basic chicken and sides. I had to call and speak to a manager who told me they were coming out right now. I said why was it taking so long to the manager. She said they were heating up the tortillas whatever the hell that means. When the woman came out with my order, I decided I did not want it anymore and asked for a refund. Four minutes later I got my refund and left. It is now 222 and I am immediately writing this review. This is the worst El Pollo Loco I've ever been to and I've been to some pretty bad ones. Now I live in Fountain Valley and stopped by the EL Pollo Loco location over on Brookhurst and Garfield and yet again, was NOT HAPPY about my meal at all. My Garlic chicken wings which I paid $10 for out of my 5 wings I was only able to eat 2 of them as the others were not cooked all the way through. The staff was friendly and not remotely dismissive like I've experienced at other EPL's. Our order had very particular instructions and they got everything right! Olivia, The food-quality and customer service at this location needs immediate attention. My $10.99 double chicken bowl had zero chunks of chicken. It had only -shredded , non-white chicken meat. It did not taste good, and certainly is not the quality of food one expects to receive from El Pollo Loco. Since the chicken was not enjoyable, I threw the $10.99 double-chicken bowl in the trash can. I then called the restaurant to voice my concern. I later returned to the restaurant expecting an apology from the male assistant manager , who was chopping meat in back. I received no apology from the male assistant manager, but excuses. I then asked to receive either a full refund, or a whole chicken , as compensation. I will not return to this location. The customer is not the priority here. To our pleasant surprise, they kindly delivered the tortillas to our home as well as provided complimentary churros, chips, and guacamole. They went above and beyond to fix their mistake.
