Sadly, I'm not sure what happened, but this place when downhill fast!!! Since you can tell by my previous review, this place was always my go to spa. At least a couple times a month. But I've noticed the last few times that it wasn't at its usual amazement. So I decided to go a few more times before writing an updated review. What happened to this place?? The steam room was more like a sauna. I barely had a drop of water on me. I said in for 15 min, tried the shower trick, and no deal. Just a hot sauna. Then, when I came out, it was like a party! About 10-12 women crammed into this locker room. Most women were from the pool, so sadly you do have to share. I bumped uglies more than a few times. Not cool. Then I noticed blood on the wall...um gross.....so went to shower before my massage...HUGE clump of hair. Someone is seriously losing her hair. Thinking maybe it's just the crowd, I go into another shower with barely any hot water, and go to my relaxation area. THERE WAS NO RELAXING. No chairs available, and they were so loud!! Thankfully I only had to stand for 30 min. Then I had my most wonderful massage with Andrew (love him and the ONLY reason I would go back) so I go back into the locker room...ONE HOUR LATER....and it's another party in the locker room and the blood and hair was still there!!! Gross!!! What in the world happened!!?! I will never again come on a weekend. The Four Seasons stays clean, and perfect, and I've never encountered more than 3 people at once. read more

My friend wanted to organize a girl's spa day with some friends and after reading reviews she suggested Elaia Spa. What made this spa stand out was that the facility also offered use of the pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. We planned on a Sunday. I had called 2 weeks ahead to make reservations and requested to schedule so that we all stated at the same time. Unfortunately one girl had to cancel one of her services (I called 48 hours ahead to cancel). Three of us were taken back at the same time, and they had the other girl wait an hour for her service. I was a little taken back that they did not tell me this when I had called or even when we all showed up. Three of us had the Elaia Signature Massage and an Herbal Wrap. One girl (who had to wait an hour) had the Mommy-To-Be-Massage. The services we received were good. Personally nothing stood out to me as exceptional, and I was a bit disappointed that the room where I had my wrap did not have a shower to rinse off afterward. The facility is very relaxing and very clean. The relaxation room is nice and cozy and we did order up lunch after our services. We stayed afterward and did use the pool/Jacuzzi/sauna/steam. Valet parking is validated and we did receive a 10% discount for making a reservation for 4 guests. read more

Above and beyond what we had hoped for. My husband and I got an hour couples massage, relaxed in the lounge and didn't want to leave (but we knew alas we had to) it was truly a one of a kind experience and the massage therapists were so wonderful. We felt relaxed and recharged after our hour and the fact they allow you to pick your massage oil scents are a great bonus. The locker rooms were clean and filled with anything you may have forgotten. The staff was attentive and sweet. We will be back for more services by them, definitely an experience we won't forget. We started our girls getaway trip by pampering ourselves at the spa. The facility was clean and offered a comfortable relaxation room. I had one of the best massages by Andrew L. I had a deep tissue massage and his neck massage was AMAZING! He is experienced and very professional. The price for the massage ($140) is reasonable for an upscale spa. It was definitely worth it! I booked an hour-long hot stone massage here based on the recommendation of a friend. I learned two things - one, that this spa is amazing. Two - I am not really a fan of hot stone massages. I prefer just a good old Swedish massage - hands and elbows only, please and thank you! So when you book an appointment here, you get the full day's access to their amazing gym, pool, spa, steam room, and sauna. Although the massage was pricey, it was worth it because of all the perks that were included. The gym has anything and everything you could want in a workout facility. The bathrooms were extravagant - showers had everything you need. The pool was warm, the spa was HOT (just how I like it), and everything felt luxurious. There is a little lounge you can sit in before / after your appointment with snacks, water, hot tea, magazines galore...very relaxing. Next time I visit Seattle, I would book here again - but this time, I'd skip the hot stones. This was the first time I've ever received a stone massage, so if that's what you're looking for - this is certainly a good place to go. Came here during the Snow Storm and had an amazing experience! Located at Hyatt 8 downtown and on the second floor. Purchased a couples retreat. Day consisted of spending time in the pool area and sitting pool side. Then we were able to sit in the lounge and have treats provided before being taken into the couples massage room. We were able to do a tub soak with three different salts. Massages where excellent and everyone treated us so kindly! Combined the massage with a salt scrub and walked away with tips to work to create less muscle tension. read more

I'm ridiculously picky about the spas that I choose to frequent and find it hard to believe that we have so few good day spas in Seattle...but I loved Elaia! The locker room is fantastic and offers a sauna and steam room as well as full amenities in the shower and to get ready post treatments... I had Crystal during my 60 min massage and loved every minute! she asked great questions, made sure that the targeted areas were addressed and made me feel super comfortable. that and the massage bed was amazing! heated, has the ability to incline both top and bottom which was crazy.... all in all, great experience and I will be back... read more

I am very pleased with the treatments I received today. I had a 60 minute holistic massage with Megan and she was awesome! I enjoyed her massage very much. I also had a market fresh pedicure with Phoung and she was a doll. I was not a huge fan of their pedicure chairs as it was hard to relax in them, but I still enjoyed it. I love that they carry Eminence Organic Skincare, even though I didn't get a facial. They are awesome products. My nail polish was a vegan polish and I love it so much I am thinking about heading back over there to buy a bottle of it. I also enjoyed the relaxation room and the staff is very friendly. I visited this spa a few days ago and the 60 minute Hot Stone Massage was one of the best things I have ever done! When it's cold and rainy and miserable in Seattle, this massage will warm you through and through like nothing else can. Unfortunately, the steam room wasn't operational when I visited but that should be fixed soon, according to the front desk staff. The sauna would be crowded if there were more than three people in it at once (lucky me I had the place mostly to myself). The lockers are shallow and narrow and didn't hold my shoulder tote and my purse very easily. Overall a nice spa, but I honestly don't think I will go back unless it's the only spa offering hot stone massages. read more

Spent a Sat here with the gals for massages and facials. It was fine, I liked it but found it to be over priced for what I got. It is pretty and the lounge where you wait for your services is nice particularly with the chairs and food. Did enjoy that space as I was able to chat with friends. Massage - it was nice and relaxing. Honestly I did not think it was too special but I did not get a hotstone massage which I should have. The basic swedish is not as much my thing. Facial- it was ok, would have liked to get more of an extraction as well so was not part of what they did. I felt a little bit like they did a wash of my face rather than a real facial. Did not get an advice from the theapist. Other facilities - we did not get a change to use these facilities. I have heard it is great. read more

Being a massage therapist for 23 years and a massage instructor for 15 years, I will say that my standards are pretty high. So, I do like to find out what training the therapists have before selecting which one I prefer. I was so incredibly grateful to find Rose (Stephanie Rose Scott), who gave me a beautiful mix of CranioSacral and Myofascial Release as part of the Holistic massage. Edit: I started seeing Mae for facials as well (2 done), and she is great! Very personable and knowledgeable, and has been very patient with the amount of questions I lay on her each time. I work at the Hyatt and have taken advantage of Elaia's services a few times now. I've seen Jennifer three times for massage and really liked her. Her energy is very gentle and soft, and she's genuinely kind and knowledgeable about addressing your concerns. Last time I saw her, she showed me a few stretches to do daily to help my "problem areas". The locker room facilities are clean and spacious, with a wonderful steam room. I've never been to a spa that was so providing, from the toiletries in the bathroom to the selection of small snacks in the waiting room. read more

I had a 60 minutes sports massage (deep tissue). My massage therapist was Eric and he was AMAZING! I have a job that is hard on my back and have had many massages in my life...this was stellar! Also, the facility is worth the extra $$ for the massage. I can three hours early (yes three!) and used their gym, sauna, relaxation room, then had my massage....heaven! This was the highlight of my trip! I got a full body sports massage from Rose. It was wonderful and so relaxing. She had the softest hands is ever felt on a massage therapist. The whole experience was relaxing. When you purchase a 60 minute massage you get access to the pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. I was completely alone in the hot tube and pool which added to the relaxation. I was again the only one in the sauna. They supply soaps and other toiletries so I didn't have to bring any. If you forget your swim suit you can purchase one there. They have teas and some refreshments in the waiting area. If I ever come back to Seattle I will definitely come back to the spa! read more

Elaia spa was the perfect retreat for my mom and I before my wedding. I had a hot stone massage, my mom had the foot ritual and we both had an express facial. The treatments were all amazing. The staff kindly welcomed us and showed us to the locker room that was fully equipped with everything you need for before and after your spa treatments. We were then shown to the waiting area that was the perfect place to unwind and start relaxing before our treatments. I wish we had more time to relax in the pool and ho ttub after our treatments. I was looking for a great day spa in the area for a couples massage. The Elaia at the Hyatt Olive 8 offered everything I was looking for. Upon arrival, everyone was so friendly and showed us around. They give you lockers with your own key, slippers and comfortable bath robes. The facilities are very clean and not crowded at all. After changing, you're lead to the relaxation room with lite snacks, tea and lounging chairs with magazines. My boyfriend and I had the couples massage so both our masseuses came to greet us in the relaxation room. The massages were amazing. The tables in the room were comfortable, can be heat adjusted and automatically adjust for different positions. My masseuse was very professional and made sure I had the best massage. After, we were led back to the relaxation room and decided to try out the hot tub in the pool area. Then we tried out the showers and the locker room as everything you need (shampoo, conditioner, razors, shaving cream, tampons, hair brush, blow dryer, mouth wash, etc). The price was expensive but for our late morning retreat, it was well worth the cost. I would definitely go here again. read more

got the luzern oxygen facial with mae and a hot stone massage with jeanette - both were really nice treatments. i felt uber-pampered and luxurious-ified with the facial, and noodle-y and blissful after the hot rock massage. the relaxation area is nice, with local snacks (nuts and fruit) along with a nice selection of teas, and charcoal filtered still or sparkling water. the gym is well equipped, clean and very modern, and the pool pretty. hot tub, not so hot, which was disappointing. the locker room was nice enough, although their steam room was WAY too hot - could not stand to be in there for more than 5 minutes. however, a peeve i had was that i had to be either a condo resident or getting a spa service that day to get a locker - which i understand is the policy in order to accomodate for guests who dont have a room to put their belongings in, but i was the only one there that morning and had to keep a constant eye on my stuff. eh, whatevs. it was cool. read more

This spa was very over priced for the services provided. While the actual massage was decent, the cleanliness of the facilities left A LOT to be desired. Had to ask for towels, staffing seemed inadequate to service the number of people and the manager had to get involved on two occasions to make sure we were getting what we had requested/signed up for. read more

Hands down the BEST massage I have ever had. The whole entire experience was fantastic - from the moment we were greeted until we left the hotel. Myself and my friend both had the holistic massages separately with E (Elisha) and Eric. I had Elisha and wow.... not only was she super friendly and personable, but extremely knowledgeable and even gave me some tips for relaxation on areas I had a lot of tension on. Eric was also extremely personable and has been here for well over 3 years, and it absolutely shows! Men's steam room is not hot at all. There is a layer of slime (mildew) on the floors, walls and sitting area. Tried wiping it with a towel and it's all brownish. I notices there are lime buildups along the granite slabs. Darks spots (mildew) on the shower walls too. God know what kind of bacteria and fungi is being grown here. The best part is that you can come before your appointment and take advantage of the saltwater pool, hotub, gym, saunda, showers, or lounge around for free. The service at elaia is superior. If your on a budget this spa can be a little pricey but that is what you an expect from a spa and hotel of this quality. read more
