We built a house 20 years ago, always with the intent of bringing in a designer to help us decorate. However, as life goes, it was long after building the home that I finally met Sharon and began to work with her to bring my mind's vision into reality for our home. Sharon decorated our home with custom-made window treatments and blinds, hand-picked furniture fabric, complementing pillow coverings and paint colors throughout. When everything was completed, I truly felt as if we were living in a model home as Sharon's decorative input and design were that exquisite. She is great at what she does and I would surely rate her a 5-Star+ if I were able to do so. I would hire Sharon for any home decorating project that I needed done. Don't hesitate--she is that good!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!…read more Troy was recommended to me by a cabinet company, so I made the trip to Newark to check it out. The $1499 special has very little to choose from, but I managed to find two pieces (read remnants) that would work for me. Template and install time quoted were very quick (should have been a red flag). Then they broke one of the pieces, so I had to go back and pick another. When it came time to install, the guys were very rude, and couldn't install one of the pieces because it needed to be cut and pieced in order to get it in the space. Told me they would be back tomorrow. Well, tomorrow is here, and no installers. They never notified the scheduler that they needed to come back, so I'm pushed back another day. Also, they made a mess in my bathroom, and didn't clean up after themselves. Also, the counter has sand marks in it, so it will now have to be polished where it was glued. I highly recommend that you look elsewhere for your needs, because this place is terrible. Salesperson won't call me back, manager won't call me back. Also, they charge you the credit card fees. Bad business in my opinion, and I've been self employed for almost 40 years.

I had no interest in ripping out the kitchen and replacing it so I hired an Interior Decorator. The kitchen itself was in good shape. There were some odd things. Terri came in, made wall and cabinet color suggestions, window covering suggestions and most shocking of all told me to have the refrigerator moved. See the fridge sat in front of the sliding glass door. I had an underused pantry. Moving the fridge into the pantry made it looked built in and let the light flow. It was awesome. In 2010, my partner and I moved back to the area. We called Terri. She came up with a comprehensive design for our house's living room, kitchen, dining room, master bedroom along with a paint scheme for the entire house. She put us in touch with contractors she recommended. We've changed our minds a few times and each time she's been easy to work with. Unique items kept catching my eye as I perused the store, but one item in particular begged for my attention: a little black and white dog figurine sitting in front of the window. His name is "Bergere," after the chair, and he has become a beloved mascot in the store. Alison has been in the design business for most of her life. In fact, growing up in her parents' store in Pennsylvania, McIndoe's, is where her passion for design began. With a degree in Interior Design and lots of experience working in the design and building industry, Alison opened AK Interiors in 1996, working from her home. At the time, she was a single mom and it allowed her to be easily available. A little more than a year ago, she decided it was time to venture out and open a boutique home furnishings shoppe in Lancaster. The Shoppe at AK Interiors is staffed by owner Alison and three other employees. The 1,100-square-foot space includes offices for the design team and a room for meeting clients. AK Interiors works with all different types of customers: residential, commercial and renovations. One service that AK Interiors offers is "Room in a Day."
