Keep going back. It is that tasty! We went again today, our 2nd time while vacationing in NY. We went around 10 am this time and no lines. They were just restocking and had freshly baked items ready for us to devour. We tried the scallion knot, the potato knish, honey bun, the pretzel, garlic bread, croissant and onion bread. We enjoyed everything. I think our favorite was the garlic bread and honey bun. Staff is friendly but there isn't much seating. There is a small counter inside for maybe 3 people and 2 benches outside. Would highly recommend. read more

My friend got us Elbow Bread for our mini road trip and it was super tasty!! We mostly tried savory bites but their honey braid was delicious!! It reminded me of baklava without the nuts. It was flaky on the outside, chewy on in the inside, and held up all the syrup. The garlic bialy and onion bialy were both so tasty! The caramelized onions were fragrant and slightly sweet. The garlic paste was nicely seasoned. The scallion knot had a nice mix of scallions and poppy seeds. The potato saurkraut knish had strong dill flavors that I enjoyed despite not being a huge potato fan. The surrounding pastry was still flaky after a car ride. Came across this bakery because of their absolutely delicious looking bialys and knew I had to try one. I passed it twice when looking for it but once arriving the cashier was super friendly and polite. I asked a few questions and she helped me with no issues. I decided I had to try the hatch chile onion bialy even though everything looked so delicious. She told me they had a batch coming out the oven in like 2 mins so I could have one "hot off the press"'if I wanted to wait which I absolutely did. Once received the smells, the buttery garlic, the nice spice and the sweetness from the onions blended with the perfect airy yet chewy dough. I mean wow could they make these any better?! The answer is no this thing was perfect. I'm so glad I stopped in and had the chance to visit this bakery and look forward to stopping by again when in ny. read more

One of my favorite bakeries I visited recently! The passion fruit ricotta donut (only avail on the weekends) was amazing -- just the right amount of fluff and sweetness. I really loved how the passionfruit flavor came through! The Nori Chocolate Chip cookie was also great, the nori felt a bit like an afterthought but it was delicious nonetheless. Also got the Almond Elbow (not pictured) which wasn't my favorite but still great. Highly recommend the donuts! read more

Supa delish!!! I can't recommend the EB BB enough - Their take on a pb&j - it's walnut butter, dates, and cream cheese on some robust rye bread. I've never had anything quite like it, and the walnut butter has these really yum crunchy bits in it, like crushed up wafers. I'd 100% get again next time i go (and there will be a next time!). We went initially to try their corn saffron donut special, which was also delicious - it is very heavy and sweet so i would def split. The place is very small, as it's more of a to-go type of a place; there is a small counter that can possibly fit 2-3 to enjoy your treats. Having been following chef Zoe since her days at Simon & The Whale, I was very excited to see her taking over the Mel space. I love that the offering is unique - different to everything else in the city. The Almond Elbow was my favorite! My friend loved The Walnut butter/date sandwich. We also enjoyed the Spinach egg sandwich, Palmier, and Potato Knish. I enjoyed the buckwheat drink and appreciate having an alternative to coffee. It's a tiny, yet special spot. Unfortunately, we got there too early to try the pretzel (they come out at 10am), so we'll have to come back soon! read more

cute little pastry shop - tasty stuff. tried a few things, easy favorite was the challah honey bun. It was fluffy with a beautiful caramelized exterior, nice subtle sweetness, super addicting. Also had a savory (scallion?) roll and the dark chocolate rugelach, both great. read more

Fun little bakery to stop into while shopping around LES. The sweet potato pretzel was so cute with its little hands. I accepted a small cup of stone ground grainy mustard for dipping however I found that I didn't need it at all. The space inside is super small and not meant for lingering long but there are 2 benches outside for enjoying your purchases. read more

They had so many delicious looking goodies and I wanted to try them all! The service was excellent as well and I got a run down of all their product. Waited in a short line this morning for some fantastic baked goods. Opted for a savory knish (potato and sauerkraut) and a sweet challah honey bun- both were phenomenal and worth the higher price. The only meh thing that I tried was the savory sweet potato pretzel- maybe I should have tried it first thing this morning but the other two delicious bites filled me up. I had a few bites tonight and it wasn't bad, wasn't great. I'd definitely go back next time I'm in town and try some other goodies. All the staff here are just delightful! read more

Awh man, I really wanted to love this place because it's super cute inside, but nothing met my expectations. The sweet potato pretzel got me hyped, but you can't even taste the sweet potato. Also, they said it would be warmed up, but it immediately got cold and hard. The cold brew was super sour. Everything was really overpriced too. Went to get the special corn donut and it was so good! Donuts are sometimes too sweet for me but this one was the perfect level of sweetness balanced by the salty honey butter and also the perfect texture, fluffy and not too dense. Need to return to try more pastries! read more

I'm already an OG there. I go pretty much every weekend. Simply this is a must go. Their bialys are a new definition, lighter than any before and the flavor is divine. The black bread has so much flavor it's great under almost anything but its useage in their EBBB sandwich makes it one of the best and most unique sando out there. You'll find so many old school recipes and flavors. Just go read more

I'm excited to have a new bakery in the neighborhood. Was walking around LES with my bag saying elbow bakery and many people wanted to know if it is good. But I had not eaten any of my goodies. I'm generally reluctant to review a place during a soft launch. The Bakery is not fully open. I held back one star because I suspect this is a 5 star bakery but it's to early to tell. My first experience is positive. Everyone who works there was professional, respectful and polite. The food is very fresh and often still coming out of the oven. The bialy was excellent and I will be getting the bialy often. I may say best bialy in our neighborhood. The butter bread was good. The bread was fresh and earthy in taste. More of a dark rye type of bread. They offer regular and vegan butter. I'm happy to say the knish was very good. I could taste the herbs in knish and the outside was crunchy while the inside is soft. There is a wide selection of baked goods and I'm looking forward to finding more my next visit. read more
