Requested a tattoo of our dog's paw print. Brought in a cleaned up version and showed the owner it along with the original ink paw print and to our surprise he was able to use the actual paw print- hair and all! I just wanted to say if your looking for a badass tattoo Artist at a hella good price go see Rodney at elegant art. He does really good work and is very talented. He Specializes in coverups and he loves to do dragons, cobras, Japanese art, Koi fish but he'll do anything you want him to draw up for you. He's a pretty cool guy too. He Had to redo my sleeve that someone else did and it looks so beautiful now plus he did two other tattoos for me, And one for my daughter too. They really shouldn't have their friends/clients that don't work there but get a lot of ink to talk to potential customers like trash, for literally no reason at all.I was polite and pleasant and was really looking forward to having the artist work on me, but absolute rudeness was disgusting. Deserves 0 stars. Rodney does not like to work on men, will rush the product and get you out of his shop. If you're a pretty blonde girl this guy will make you wait while your in mid tattoo session to go mess around and flirt! Left me sitting there for 25 minutes! The guy gets completely stoned out of his gourd then will insist to work on you.I have gone to him for 2 different pieces and the work was horrible! I asked for a full blackout from my wrist to my elbow and this is what i got, he just kept making me listen to what he wants to do. Completely rushed and the vibe makes you feel like you can't make a suggestion for your own artwork! I was charged 300 for a cover up that didn't cover anything and when i expressed my distaste at the end i was greeted with arguments. Yet he still thought i would return. I would NOT recommend this tattoo parlor. Save your skin and your bank and go somewhere else! Please! I have even given this piece time to heal which has only shown the horrible work more. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I recently went in for a consult, possibly even get work done the same day. I was met outside by an artist who was visibly and obviously high. He and the other artist inside proceeded to bash multiple tattoos I received over the years, when their own looked like pure prison work, and the high one made some unprofessional statements about military personnel. Part 2... after this review, separate messages were sent to my wife and I from one of the two artists. The "artist" called me buddy, yet was extremely rude to my wife. Kinda par with some of the review I read prior to posting my own. Bottom line, looks nice on the outside, absolutely lower than gutter trash on the inside. read more

I have had different artists do every one of my tattoos and now I will never go to anyone else. This shop is AMAZING! The piece that I got today is probably my favorite piece I have. Rodney is an exceptional artist. He has freehanded an entire traditional Japanese koi fish and golden dragon sleeve for me. He has the ability to take your original ideas and make them work in the media of skin art. Scheduling is a breeze and he very conscientious about his clients, their health and cleanliness. My wife has 2 tattoos from Rodney as well as the microblading. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for one off-personally tailored artwork to be done to schedule a consult. read more

Did some research and finally decided on coming here to get my tattoo done. The shop is tucked in yet not hard to access on 10th Street in Marysville. Its a small shop but it is bright and full with art work. Rodney was very friendly and made sure I was happy with my design before starting. The whole process went smoothly and the atmosphere was very chill. I really liked how he explained everything throughly and made sure I was comfortable. He also pointed out the health license he has for proper handling of blood and how every piece of equipment is sterilized. Now for his work, let me just say, WOW. If I could give 0 stars, unfortunately I would. The work I had seen was beautiful, I called in to have 3 tattoos done and talked to what I believe was the owner. He told me to meet him at the shop at 4pm, I showed up and the shop was closed. I called him 3 times and was able to get ahold of him, to his response he told me he would be there shortly. I waited an hour for him to show up, and guess what. NOTHING. Called him again and he informed me he would call me when he finally got into the shop. 3 weeks later I still haven't heard from him. read more

I've been getting tattooed by this same artist for around 7 years on and off and he makes an effort to work with my schedule considering I live in Reno so it's about 2 and a half hour commute but for a fair price and great location with very hygienic set up it's a trip well worth it. Everything goes about scheduled and I was last in there to get details on my throats which is about one of the hardest parts to get tattooed and he's managed to make it quick and with ease and allows for enough breaks to keep my neck and body from getting stiff I was able to get tattooed for a couple of hours and walk right out and visit the malls so he made sure there wasn't much only left to stain my shirt and made sure It was all laid down well enough to not have to worry about it rubbing off on my shirt. Also the fact that he has rotary machines makes a world of difference with the noise and with the whole being tattooed experience. I dread getting tattooed by conventional machines now it heals a lot quicker a lot cleaner and with less attention to it. Definitely recommend going in since I'll eventually be going back for more work like usual read more

I am a female in my 50's and I came to Rodney to touch up a tattoo I already had. This tattoo was on my ankle and is several years old. I went in a couple days ago with my son and we got a simple cross on our hand. The lines were perfectly straight anyway I wanted to add a rosary and rose to my cross. I got it done today and it is beautiful. My rose is multi colored and my rosary beads are perfectly round. He drew all of it on me from scratch. He didn't trace anything like at other shops I have been to. I love my tattoo !! He also fixed one on my arm that needed just a little help! I will not go to any other shop again.
