My wife and I moved to Cheyenne…read morein early 2014 and struggled to find a good conservative church in the area that was not legalistic. Over our few years' search we came across a lot of other families looking for the same thing and were also failing to find it. Most of us commuted out of the area to worship while a few settled in Cheyenne. A beautiful family we got to know well and worship with at times realized that a great change was happening at First Baptist Church. They recommended we try it out and due to oversleeping and not being able to make the commute into Colorado one Sunday, we decided to give it a try. Needless to say we haven't left and plan on becoming members in early 2020. The Church is warm and friendly. Structure is elder led, and the service has God honoring worship (mixture of contemporary and hymns) while the sermons are expository (not topical). If you are looking for a conservative place to worship, give First Baptist Church a try. God bless you in your search.

I have found that this place, even thought it technically is a church, its not all church-y in the…read morefact that they dont preach to you that you'll go to hell if you commit this sin or that sin, its more of a community meeting place where you can share stories and events that are happening in the local community with a little traditional singing and praying and other church stuff. I had to get used to the fact that if youre new, most of the congregation will greet you and make you feel welcome with a big smile and a hearty handshake. After the services they usually have free coffee and other items like cookies and sometimes they even serve entire meals.

Both times I had a wonderful experience in the church I love the rock wall on the altar brings a more modern look to the church. This church is plain on the outside but its not in the inside great church to come to for any occasion.
