I was in town for the day and decided to get a haircut which said came with a scalp and arm massage, which I also verified at the time of making the appointment. The person who cut my hair was very friendly and did a good job but I did not receive the additional services listed. I brought these services up when checking out and originally the person checking me out acted like somebody else was going to do it these and then seemed confused about my question and asked if he did it during the hair wash time. I advised he did not and she said she was sorry and that she would have to talk to him about it. But of course there was no reduction in charge or offer to have the services performed at that time. Again I was satisfied with the services I did receive but felt a little shorted on what was provided compared what was listed and confirmed at the time of scheduling the appointment. Element salon has become my go to for my haircut and style! I am very particular on how my hair is cut and not many places have gotten it right except for with Kenzie at Element salon! As an added bonus I got a lavender scalp massage that was AMAZING, it was included in the price of my cut and style! I will NEVER go anywhere else! read more

If you want a reliable appointment do not go here. I spoke with Ivan Tuesday afternoon and booked an appointment for 2:30 today. When I arrived I was told my appointment was cancelled because I live in GR. I lived in GR 8 years ago (and I'm not sure how the salon would know that). I never received a cancellation call and was offered a measly 15% discount to come back on Tuesday. I started getting my hair done (cut and color) at Element in September 2019. Every 4-5 weeks I saw the same stylist until the salon had to temporarily close due to the pandemic in March 2020. I was assured that my April appointment would be kept in queue and they would call to reschedule once they were able to open again. Two days after reopening and I had heard nothing. So I called today and was told my stylist was moving out of state and had left the salon. The receptionist then said it was going to be a challenge to find homes for her clients so that's why I hadn't heard from them about scheduling a new appointment. She also added that their stylists were all busy with their regular clients so it would be 3-4 weeks before they could fit me in with someone. Really? So much for keeping scheduled appointments in queue. If they had called me and explained the situation, I would have understood. But instead I was treated as if I were a lesser priority and a nuisance because my stylist left the salon. I called another Aveda salon and they can get me (a brand new client) in for an appointment in 2 weeks. They even apologized that they couldn't get me in sooner. My friend and I made appointments for facials. Our esthiticians were Cayla and Stacy. They were enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly. Kayla had a wonderful touch. The interior of the salon is beautiful and comfortable. I highly recommend this salon. read more

I have a hair dye allergy and can only use certain products, like Aveda. Initially, I was quite happy with this salon. Recent experiences have changed my mind. My first stylist moved out of state. All of her clients were shifted to two other stylists. I had difficulty getting my appointment scheduled, but was patient, as it was in the midst of COVID and my choices are limited because of my allergy. Then my next stylist unexpectedly quit. Frustrated, I booked an appointment with the stylist who had been there the longest online, thinking she would likely stay there longer and I could avoid this happening to me again. A few days before the appointment, I got a call telling me that she could not do the service requested and that another stylist would have to be scheduled and she would not be available for two months!!! I was very upset, but I still booked the appt. Then, the day of the appt arrived and I got a call that the stylist had COVID and we would have to reschedule. Now this is understandable. But the next part of the message really made me angry - "please call us back right away, we know you were frustrated and waited a long time to get this appointment - appointments are already booked out for a few weeks." Really?! The service I had booked would be close to $200. Wouldn't a better message be - we have set aside appointments for customers who have waited the longest - these appointment will be held for 24 hours - as we value your business? Which I will now take elsewhere... read more

I really didn't want to write this negative review but was asked numerous times so I'll I've got to say is that I've tried to like this place but just couldn't. It is advertised as an Aveda salon but lacks Aveda skill and training even though they sell the products. I've had different services here but for the price IT IS NOT AVEDA and not worth it! I've gone to two different stylists here and it was not just one that did not do the job to my expectations. On one occasion, one of the other stylists told my stylist not to cut my hair the way she was cutting it. I also asked one of the stylists (a different one) about her training and she said she came from Ulta. If I'd wanted an Ulta cut, that's where I would've gone. I wanted more. She lacked the skill for a simple stylish cut and said my hair was too fine for what I wanted even though all the pictures I brought in were from fine hair cuts. Surprising, because another real Aveda salon gave me the cut I wanted without even asking or showing pictures - they just knew how the ends needed to be cut to be stylish and I did not leave with a cut that looked like the stylist was wearing or looking like frumpy hair which is what I got when I went to Element Salon in Midland. You get what they are capable of doing. The manicurist is also not very good and I had a manicure a couple of different times at this establishment but were both the same - air bubbles and not particular for shellac and it did not last. The massage I received was good but the girl is no longer there. Take your chances, don't settle for amateur Aveda - Aveda is ongoing training and is supposed to be on top of their game with precision cuts. The real deal makes all the difference. read more

The place was very busy, but the massage rooms are upstairs and are very relaxing and quiet. I will be back and would recommend to others.

I have been going to Element for several months. I was referred to Cayla Brawt for her eyelash services. I was so nervous, coming from California where I had the same lash service for a few years. I finally made the appointment with Cayla. Oh my God! I LOVE this girl! Not only do my lashes look crazy good...she's so fun and sweet!! Go to her! She's seriously the best!! read more

I'm from out of town and went to Element for a Brazillian waxing service. The waxing was subpar at best and I was left burnt from wax and not hairless like I wanted after 40+ minutes. Now I just threw $110 down the drain. I had to go to Target afterward to get waxing strips and finish waxing myself! Not impressed. Sad to write this review because I've had good experiences at Element with their salon team and the people there are always nice, but I will not be returning for their spa services any time soon. read more
