After a number of years using dodgy launderettes as a child, earning my pocket money doing the family wash, I was annoyed to find that my washer was broken and that now, after 30 years of washing at home most of the time, I was going to have to visit a launderette again in order to get my clothes clean. So, with a bag stuffed full of my dirty whites, it was with little enthusiasm, and a touch of trepidation, that I dragged myself along to Elements Laundry to relive my childhood drudgery. I buoyed myself up on the way telling myself that it wouldn't be that bad, would only take an hour or two and would be an experience.
My fears and flashbacks to childhood were unnecessary. Gone was the stark silence, the whir of the machines being the only soundNo, I entered what could have been a community centerthe place was buzzing and vibrant, alive with chatter from customers, banter between staff and clients, all to a background of music played at a discreet level to cut through the silence and mechanics. this wasn't what i was expecting, nor the monstrous place I remembered, this was something new and exciting, a completely different experience was about to be had!
That was 2 years ago and in this time I have made a decision not to repair my washer, but to continue my weekly visits to Elements. It is now an essential part of my week, a time for catching up with the community, to chat with friends old and new, to share banter with the staff, and , of course, to clean my clothes. Everything about this Elements Experience won me over that day and I now look forward to this interlude to my day. It has grown in the number of clients that use the laundry and dry cleaning services quite dramatically in this time. The ambient feel achieved by the new look to the laundry and the welcoming, friendly staff and clientele playing a major role in this. Nothing is ever a problem not solved at Elementsif another laundry customer doesn't give the help or information you need then you have only to ask a member of staff and your problem is solved!
I would recommend this new experience in laundering to anyone with anything to wash or dry clean. The prices are incredibly cheap and the standards of service tops. I have nothing but good to say about this place which is a hub to the local community, serving a diverse range of clients from a variety of cultures and backgrounds, all mixing together in a friendly, supportive and welcoming environment.
