I'm not sure I could say enough good things about my experiences with Elena's salon if I filled up three screens with details about how much I love it. I followed Elena from her previous salon in Staunton when she opened up her new space and the entire experience is something I look forward to every time I have an appointment. The salon space itself is a chill, trendy little oasis that makes me feel relaxed as soon as I walk in. But even more than that, her skills -particularly with color- are at a level I have never experienced with any other stylist, even when I lived in NYC. I currently sport the rainbow hues in the first picture, and that is all Elena's handiwork (as are the styles in the other photos with this review). There has never been an idea I have come to her with, no matter how outlandish, that she hasn't made come to fruition. Just as amazingly, if I come to her with absolutely no ideas for my next look, she always has ideas to share. I trust her enough that more than once I have sat down in her chair and told her to do whatever she wants, and I have never, ever been disappointed with the results. Her product knowledge astounds me. She can lighten and color my hair and somehow it ends up feeling better than when I walked in. I also really appreciate that she makes product suggestions but is never pushy about it, as so many other salons are. She also doesn't hesitate to recommend products that she doesn't carry if she knows it will be a good fit for me. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have Elena in our little town. Particularly over the last few years during Covid, I've come to recognize how much my visits to her salon are a continual source of true joy for me. The pampering and services are wonderful, and the confidence that results from wearing her looks is something that positively influences the way I feel about myself every single day. I had yet another FANTASTIC experience at Elena's today! Alaina was, as always, so receptive and willing to talk through a styling change I wanted to make. She checked in frequently, making sure that my hair looked exactly the way I hoped it would and offered versatile options for how to emphasize or pull back on the look based on my mood. Elena is just outstanding as a hair professional and also just a lovely person. I always have a relaxing time in her space and I always enjoy our conversations. I have curly hair which isn't easy for some hair stylists to deal with but she's just fantastic with the cuts. Oh and she's a color magician too, she will create a unique color for you. Her salon is gorgeous and so is your hair when you leave! She listens to what you want and offers good advice to help you get to the look you.
