This was the slowest meal I've had in a long time, to the tune of 2 hours for lunch when it wasn't busy at all. The food itself was good. I had the apple, fennel, and golden raisin slaw as a side, a little mayo heavy but pretty yummy. I actually ate it all and I don't normally eat all of anything. For the main I had the chargrilled chicken burger--pretty good flavors overall. Two of my friends had the pulled pork sandwich, which they liked a lot too. The chips were good, tomato sauce was heavy on the vinegar and light on the sugar, kind of typical of Australia I think. Probably wouldn't go back, but I did enjoy the view.

I ordered the smoked salmon on rye bread. It was absolutely delicious though the portions were small *only one slice of bread. It was a bit busy when I visited (Swell event was going on) so the staff seemed a bit busy but that didn't impact the service they provided me. In fact, one noticed I left my laptop behind and reminded me to get it. This is definitely a go-to spot when I'm in Currumbin area.

Used to go to the deck cafe pretty often when I lived in Palm Beach a few years ago, so thought we'd go there. Unfortunately, being a public holiday, the deck was closed. But this place looked pretty good, and it was busy which is usually a good sign (but not so busy they didn't have a table). Food was good but a bit basic. They didn't have a "big" vegetarian breakfast on the menu, which always saddens me. And the eggs Florentine came on toast instead of English muffins, but otherwise the food was good. Serving sizes were more than adequate. The coffee was surprisingly good. Surprisingly because finding good coffee used to be quite difficult on the gold coast. The bean was one of the big brands (can't remember which unfortunately), so nothing special, but it was well-made. Service was great too. Very friendly staff, willing to stop and have a chat.
