I've been managing back & muscular pain with massage and bodywork therapy for 15+ years due to a scoliosis that causes overworked back/shoulder muscles as well as the occasional athletic-based injury. Rarely do you find someone like Nikolai who is the trifecta of talent: fantastic technical skills (read: amazing pressure), listening skills (to tailor your session) and a deep diagnostic understanding of how the body's systems interact. For myself, the goal of a massage is first and foremost to be a physically therapeutic experience; to relieve very targeted pain/tension and enable better range of motion in problem areas on my body. I'm not looking to take a nap on the table, I'm looking for a therapist that understands the complex interplay of the musculoskeletal body system. Nikola was so receptive to explanations of what felt wrong in my body, but more importantly, he brought to each session a focus on diagnosing and understanding WHY tensions were being held where they were, and discussing how to relieve and prevent them. He employed a combination of classic massage techniques, kinetic bodywork, hot + cold therapy, some supplemental topicals/treatments, and (I cannot stress this enough) a comfortable and open environment to discuss exercise/physical habits that may have led to injuries and tightness. All the above added up to: leaving my apt feeling physically fantastic post session, as well as so much better educated about how to prevent and treat persistent stress and tension. I came in with severe pain and tightness in my shoulder due to a rotator cuff injury, and the fact that he was able to work around a recent stressor + congenital skeletal issues is pretty impressive. YES, the price tag here is on the high end of bodywork type services I've even received, but between the high cost of living in Aspen and the amazing service provided, I cannot recommend Nikolai with more enthusiasm. I woke up at 4 AM my first morning in Aspen with debilitating neck pain. I literally could barely…read morelift my head off my pillow. I quickly googled chiropractors in Aspen and found Dr. Eric. I made an appointment online for 7 AM. I arrived at his office and my phone rang . . . It was Dr. Eric telling me that his system must have made a mistake because he doesn't actually see patients until 8AM, but he was shoveling his driveway and would be there by 7:30. Dr. Eric massaged my trap and neck area , then adjusted me and then gave me acupuncture. Not only did I leave his office 30 mins later feeling like a new man .....I was able to ski by 9am. Dr. Eric is amazing. He saw me early again the next morning before I went skiing even though he was booked up. I can't recommend Dr. Eric enough. I will DEFINITELY be back every time I come to Aspen.

While traveling to Telluride, I overdid it and triggered an old injury in my back. The pain was so…read morebad that I could not stand up straight or walk. I regularly get acupuncture at home in Philadelphia so I knew immediately I needed to find an acupuncturist in Telluride. After some online research, I called LuvLight and left a voicemail. Jane called me back within an hour and scheduled me for that evening. The office was very easy to find, located within a shared building on S. Pine Street. Jane is very friendly and welcoming. I felt extremely comfortable in the space and in her presence. She assessed my pain, asking questions to better understand. She explained her plan for my treatment and we got started! I found that the room had a consistently comfortable temperature. I loved Jane's us of sound healing and the suggested meditations she offered to focus my mind on something besides the pain in my back. At the end of my appointment, Jane provided me with some supplies to get me through the rest of the day until I could come back for another appointment the next morning.
