I rarely post reviews, but I feel compelled to call attention to the truly amazing staff at Lafayette's branch of Elevations CU. We just returned to the US from 2-year overseas, and had to re-create our life in Louisville. ECU, and particularly Victoria, have been stellar in getting our feet back under our desk financially. Literally every time I've gone to the branch or called in, I feel like I'm the only person in the building, even though everyone else is being served equally well. You stand at the counter and also there are 3 -4 other customers there, and you are expected to slowly and loudly give the teller your account number. you could easily be putting your money in someone else's account if a number is off. Or someone could easily withdraw from your account if is under $100. Seriously? Their computer system is so old. read more

After many years of banking here I'm sad to say there's a thief that works at one of the branches. I set up a "Rags to Riches" account for my son. Suddenly, with no notice at all, the thief removed me as the account holder. No explanation, no email, no letter and no explanation from anyone at all. I wasn't given back the remainder of the balance. I called and emailed several times with no results. Now Lindsey Marie Killion from their legal department, who is also a divorce attorney, left a brief voicemail asking me to call her, yet, didn't answer the phone when I called. They act like I'm not allowed to keep two pennies to rub together, for my own son. These folks are misandrists and clearly encouraged the employee to victimize me. You would think that during a potential banking collapse they would want to retain clients. *After receiving a threat from Yelp, see picture, I've removed a sentence and changed the wording of another to avoid "drawing conclusions--about broader business practices"although there would be no need to discuss Elevations' business practices if they had not participated in defrauding me.* I shared my story with several other members who were not surprised by their actions as many told me of their own problems with this credit union. To whomever reads this from Elevations, I would like the employee who stole my account and whoever convinced that employee to victimize me to be referred for criminal charges. I would also like to know to what extent my personal and banking information was illegally disclosed in this process, in writing. Terrible customer service, 1 star isn't low enough to reflect the complete failure of an institution. read more

Elevations has not only made things right with my account -- giving me a full refund of the services I complained about -- but they have also changed things (including staff) at the Lafayette branch. They have once again gone above and beyond for me. I'm not going to bank anywhere else, period. I can't get over the effort they put in to help resolve what turned out to be a somewhat unfortunate situation with my home loan appraisal. Given the crisis at hand. Tried to go through the drive through to do branch sharing deposit and they refused. I mentioned the urgency and they said they only handled their own accounts. Apparently they can only do shared branching in the lobby because???????? I will close my Childrens' accounts after their refusal and rude demeanor from this credit union. read more

Hmm, how does one review a credit union or bank? The tellers are pleasant (they don't mind that my account is at another credit union), the drive thru lanes are rarely busy, and there's a drive-up ATM. What's not to like? Plus credit unions are not-for-profit, so they pass the savings on to the members instead of fattening some stockholder's pocket. read more

I have been a board member of a $1B credit union, I have been a credit union member for 50 years. I have never before had the experiences that Elevations has provided for me. The latest was to present a court order to act as my father's representative. They denied my court affirmed agency to withdraw money or to review the contents of the safe deposit box. I would have to wait until they reviewed my papers for a week or more Before that, when my stepmother died, their "back office" took six weeks to re-open my father's joint accounts and to sweep my stepmother's accounts into his. They did this even though he presented himself several times with proper paperwork This created havoc with his bills and credit cards as well as his credit rating. I tried to close my accounts with this credit union and they would not do so, because, "I might have written a check that did not clear." I felt I was treated like a criminal, my concerns dismissed or ignored. Do not use this credit union or trust them with your money. They have it and appear to believe it is theirs to control. read more

I have been going to this location for seven years. They are part of a shared branch with my actual credit union, but I go here because it's convenient. I will NEVER go here again. I have had numerous issues with them ranging from a teller shorting me to a manager literally yelling at me through the drive through because she was upset about changes that had been made. Today was the second time in a row after said seven years that they tried to hold my paycheck. The manager (I assume) just kept telling me "That's just how shared branches work" and that the hold was on my C.U.'s end. Why, after so many years would they suddenly put a hold on my check? I drove up to my actual credit union and the woman there told me that there was no hold on my check and that Elevations actually have an option to hold it or not in their system now, where they didn't before. And apparently I am not the first person to have issues with Elevations that were easily solved at my actual credit union. read more

Recently I applied for a loan through ECU and the process couldn't have been smoother. Great customer service and loan application management over the phone. And when it was time to finalize the loan I made an appointment at this branch. I was met by the loan officer on-time and the process was quick and easy. The interest rate I received was significantly better than I was quoted from two big banks. No hesitation in recommending ECU. read more

People are nice, but the amount of time it takes to get anything done is too slow even for simple transactions. Went there at 1:34 on a Wednesday, the line was 7 people deep. There were 3 tellers, 2 put up next window please right away. Took 15 minutes to get thru the line. Then because I was replacing a debit card I had to wait in another line for 20 minutes. All of this for a transaction that literally took 2-3 minutes. I have never gotten out of there in 5-10 minutes, it always takes 30 minutes or more. This needs to be improved. read more
