Not only did I waste 20 minutes waiting for a gratuitous appointment, I was informed after about 10 minutes of sitting there that my insurance was no longer taken, and I'd need to pay the full $100+ fee for the visit. When I asked for and received a call from Dr Brooks regarding the cancellation fee and rescheduling, I was interrupted, talked down to, and then HUNG UP ON...by my doctor. Being very well-versed on my insurance I disagreed with him and told him I would call my insurance and get back to him. I called my insurance and they stated absolutely it IS covered. I tried to call back for four days, only to be told over and over again from a woman who I could barely understand, and could barely understand me, that she would pass my information along, yet she never asked for my name or phone number. I always had to ask her if she wanted it. Finally called insurance and the office on a three-way call only for Alex to tell my insurance company that the reason they will not take my insurance is because the insurance company has not paid them in the past. So it had nothing to do with my insurance not covering it, my insurance explained to him that he needed to take that up with provider services, and not take it out on the patients. then I tried to call to speak with an office manager to explain that I did not appreciate being lied to by their employee, and that my insurance does cover the sleep study. I then found out that he actually never even called my insurance, to get any of the information he just assumed that they would not pay even though they are contracted with them. It does not matter how wonderful the doctor is if his office staff is this miserable and awful it makes for the entire office to be awful. Dr. Khan cares more about billing your Insurance than helping you…read more $1200 for a psych evaluation that was really a 15 minute renew prescription talk. He will not give you any copies or cooperate with Drs., Court, Probation etc. But will make you visit him monthly so he can bill the max. My current psych ,Stewart Marchman, sees me every 4 months which is a lot cheaper. Staff has high turnover and the other redheads. I wish I could help my insurance prosecute him for fraud.
