    Tandoori Chicken Burrito
    Marsha Z.

A great yelp elite experience! It included a free chai drink and a dessert. The mango lassi cheesecake was really tasty and a perfect single serving portion. I really liked their chai tea, it had a good strong tea flavor without the bitter tannin taste and not too sweet or watered down with milk. I also purchased a tandoori chicken burrito since it was lunch time and it was really filling and tasty, chicken was tender and flavorful. It seemed like they had a good amount business on a weekday lunchtime.

Great cafe and cool location! This Yelp experience helped me explore a place I had yet to discover, considering Old Towne Orange district is filled with so many amazing places to dine and shop. Seems like a popular cafe and was busy on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and they gladly provided information for which items were recommended. The Mango Lassi Cheesecake was delicious, especially when paired with their chai. Thank you to the business and to Yelp OC for this experience!

Thank you Chaiwale & Co, Hayley H., and the Yelp OC team for making it possible For the Elite Experience, we were given our choice of a dessert and a drink. Service was really quick and friendly. I really wanted to try their unique menu items that I don't see at other places. I redeemed a Kuffi Tres Leche and an iced Chai Latte. I really enjoyed the Indian influenced spices on these classic favorites. I wanted to support the business while I was here, so I also purchased a Butter Chicken Burrito ($11.99). I was hoping it would be wrapped in a naan bread, but it was in a regular tortilla. As I bite into it, the flavors were amazing. I enjoy the butter chicken flavors, but it was one dimensional. There was no texture or other ingredients in there. It was really heavy and I could only handle about half of it. I really appreciate the yelp perk and looking forward to coming back to support the business again the next time I'm in the area.

Is Chaiwale the Indian Starbucks, I wonder? It is certainly a new experience for me. The person at the counter doesn't seem to understand what a Yelp experience is, so I paid for my order instead of a lengthy explanation. Chaiwale is located at the corner of Glassell and Maple, across the street from the Filling Station for you who knows the area. There are plenty of street parking if you are lucky enough to find one. Alternatively, look for the public parking lot at Maple and Orange, behind the Chipotle. Its interior is nothing like the American coffee shops. There are 3 circles of large chairs for groups of friends, plus a couple of bench seats with a view of outside. Samosas are good but not exceptional. Their chai is like traditional English tea, served with milk. The music is pretty loud. Probably good for those who knows Hindi or enjoys Bollywood, but doesn't do much for me as I don't understand a word of it.

First time at this chai place and I liked it! I ordered my small chai tea and got the pistachio rose loaf. Both were tasty. I'm really surprised at how moist the rose loaf was. The staff was nice enough to allow me to try this instead of a dessert. I liked the indoor decor and it was quite crowded for a Friday. Good place for people to hang out and work remotely. I'm definitely coming back here soon. Thank you Hayley and Chaiwale for this event! See you next time !

Thanks for setting up this event! I am a big fan of chai and really enjoyed this place! Went with the Iced Rose Matcha latte which was really flavorful (Which was more Rose tasting than matcha, but still tasty!) For the dessert, I went with the pistachio cheesecake, also really flavorful and delicious! I was reading other Yelpers reviews and saw that they didn't receive their complimentary items, sorry to hear! I didn't encounter that problem during my visit. They didn't really ask cross reference my name so anyone could have received free items.

    Earl grey slice of pie

First time here and immediately was welcome by front cashier and the dynamic of the place is so rustically peaceful. I love how it's a very holistic approach with comfortable seating. It is small so not ideal for large group. I order the makala chai and earl grey slice of pie. I loved the chai tea. You definitely taste the quality of the tea. Extremely lightly sweetened and the pie was divine. I can taste the real grey and the cream was lightly sweetened. Definitely will come back to trying their other products!!! Thank you Yelp crew for hosting this!!!

The first thing I realized was this place used to be The Pie Hole, and I was immediately a little bit sad because it's where I met my partner for the first time 6 years ago. Anyway, The review highlights more positive parts to this experience. Food: Cake: I am very sorry that I didn't listen to what the cake was called, but this was absolutely delicious and light. As you can see in the pictures it was brightly powdered with assorted flavors and floral pieces and with the cake being wet and absorbing the milky custardy sauce at the bottom, I was absolutely impressed with how moist and delectable each piece was. I'm so glad I went with the recommended cake option and I would absolutely get it again. Again, I'm sorry I don't remember the name. Kadak Chai: as a typically non-chai drinker, I was recommended to try this since it was said to be good as an iced option. Unfortunately, this was not really the flavors that I enjoyed and the chai seemed a bit too earthy and slightly on the more bitter side than I would have liked. Overall, it was still a very flavorful and refreshing drink. But since my pallette is not sophisticated in the chai arena,I'll go with the originals... What I noticed in the shop was that they kept most of the decor of The Pie Hole and they also had some pies that had the same flavors which was peculiarly interesting. I'm glad they kept a lot of the original interior look because it was a very classy and timeless look. My dessert and drink was superb and I really enjoyed the quick service and attention to detail. And that cake was absolutely worth trying again. I'm still a bit sad that The Pie Hole went away but I'm equally excited to see this place keep some of the spirit alive. Thank you for the yum! I'll be back!

I have such font memories of The Circle from high school that I love coming back here. I was delighted to participate in the Chaiwale & Co. Yelp Elite Experience, as I'm not a coffee drinker (nope, never). But I do enjoy tea - so I figured I'd enjoy some chai. When I arrived (Thursday, mid-afternoon) there was one gentleman who appeared to be running the whole show (orders and making drinks). There was one table of about 5 people occupied inside. Upon arriving, I wasn't greeted straight away, but after standing for a bit, he said he'd be right with me, which I appreciated. Now: I have zero familiarity with chai, and they have three types. I asked for clarification on them and was told one is strong, one has a cardamom flavor and one a ginger flavor. I have no idea what cardamom is. I asked if one was more popular and if he had a favourite (he doesn't drink chai), so I picked the Kadak -- the middle one on the menu. For my dessert option, as I tea lover, I picked the earl grey tea pie. Realizing that I was going to overload on sweets, I also went back and ordered the samosas. Chai: Yeah, it was good. I'm going to have to read up on it. Is it caffeinated? I appreciate that I was asked if I would like to enjoy it there or for take away. Earl Grey Tea Pie: Kind of like a... mousse pie with a chocolate-cake crust? On the pie crust, there was chocolate laid onto it, which made it a little hard to eat. It was interesting. Samosas: I'm not super familiar with Samosas, but I felt it needed some substance, which is why I ordered these. The sauce that it came with helped moisten them. I love the location and the decor. Really cute inside. I would like to come back and try one of their regular teas, too. I would have had it yesterday, but caffeine overload -- maybe, haha. Oh! Two other things: you can order the chai hot or iced. I selected hot. The gentleman didn't check my name off of a list and didn't look at the email when I showed him, so maybe best to clarify the process? Thanks, Yelp and Chaiwale, for an introduction to chai and welcome to Orange! 2024: 37/100

Such a cute aesthetic Indian tea room and cafe! Interior had teapots hanging from the ceiling and combined with the furniture, this gave comfy cozy vibes. Love how this location is near various other shops so you cand ef explore around! Came on a Sunday and they were having their tea party setup so I had to sit outside. It was my first time trying the Masala Chai tea with almond milk which was good. Not too sweet and chai was more subtle which fit my tastebuds. The Pistachio Cheesecake was creamy and not overly sweet, which was good, in my opinion, since I don't like too sweet of cakes. Will def come back to enjoy their other baked goods!

I love seeing new coffee and tea spots open up, so I was super excited to see Chaiwale make its debut in Orange! This was good timing, because I had a huge deadline to meet and was in need of caffeine! Parking was street parking, which wasn't too hard to find in the middle of the day on a weekday; I'm sure it may be harder over the weekend if you aren't able to get there by Friday. As I walked in, I received a warm welcome from the barista who walked me through my options for the Elite Experience. I decided to go with an iced masala chai with oat milk and a kulfi tres leches. And I think I made the right choice! The chai was beautifully spiced and strong, and was a huge contrast from places like Starbucks that use a super sweet concentrated syrup. I definitely want to go back and try the hot version, since I think the ice melted pretty quickly. But the most exciting part was the tres leches!! This blew my mind. It wasn't too sweet and was flavorful - just like a tres leches but with a twist. Planning on coming back at some point. Thanks for putting this together, Yelp OC team!

Such a cute location in the middle of old Town orange! Thank you yelp elite for this wonderful experience. This is the perfect place to relax or get work done. Especially for the students who are nearby. The earl grey pie was delicious! I'll have to come back!

    Iced Masala chai latte

Shoutout to Hayley & Chaiwale & Co. for setting this amazing experience! I have been to old towne before for afters ice cream and it is an amazing location. The main problem I have is the parking because it took me an hour to find parking because today was pack. The music is very upbeating and great decor as an Indian coffee shop. Today, my Yelp elite experience I got the masala chai pie and iced masala chai latte. Masala chai pie: it is good, but one of the frosting tastes a little different than the other. The inner pie was good, but a lot of chai which is good a little overpowering. I love the presentation of the pie it looks very aesthetic and excellent for eye catching moment. I would give this pie a 4/5 since this was the only part I like about it. Iced masala chai latte: I personally don't like this drink because it does not have the aromatic of chai. It mainly tastes run down to me personally & I wish they have their own sweeter to enhance the flavor. I also have to add four packets of sugar to try to get the drink of my preference. I would give this drink a 2/5 since this drink was not in my liking sadly. I wish they can improve their drinks a little better. If you love Indian lattes or coffee then this is a place for you! The service was excellent & fast. The employee is very nice and friendly. I'm only giving it four stars because of the employee. The store has a great atmosphere, spacious, plenty of seating from indoor to outdoor also free wifi. There is plenty of parking depending on the location of where you park.

We did a cute BINGO ice breaker with a sunset cocktail tasting at Treehouse. It was a lot of fun meeting everyone and watching the sunset together. The two drinks we had I enjoyed. We got to sample their Pink Flamingo and HB Christmas cocktails. Later in the evening we all went downstairs to Lorea, which I have been wanting to check out since they opened. We were all given a lavender martini which was oh so good. On the menu included their delicious parker house bread with delicious flavored butter, a salad, assorted sushi, tomahawk steak, fish, grilled chicken, squash, and dessert. My favorite had to be all the delicious sushi and steak. Everything was cooked perfectly. Oh and the desserts were all amazing. I loved the coffee basque cheesecake. We all left full and satisfied. The entire staff was so attentive, helpful and generous. Treehouse and Lorea are both so beautiful. I love that Lorea had a live singer while we were there. The vibe is lovely and I was so greatful for the powerful heated lamps they had overhead. And parking was easy with valet. What a great spot featuring stunning views and a uniquely decorated round bar as the centerpiece. The event was timed perfectly for us to all get checked in and enjoy the sunset, with Catalina in the background as clear as day. I was able to experience Yelp Bingo for the first time which was a great way for everybody to meet each other. Complementary mini-cocktails were served, with mocktail versions also available by request. I enjoyed the each of the cocktails before seeing the menu first. It was a pleasant surprise at how good they were with no expectations up front. Pink Flamingo (Del Maguey Vida Puebla Mezcal, Lime, Thai chili-Infused aperol, Palo Cortado, Watermelon, egg whites). This was absolutely delicious. I wasn't expecting mezcal at all, and the smokiness was at the perfect level. It had great complexity from all the other flavors that all went together so well. HB Christmas (Ford's Slow Gin, apricot liqueur, lime juice, grenadine, egg whites). This one was also very good, with a sweeter profile and well balanced. Both drinks had a foam top which always wins bonus points in my book. As the sun set, we enjoyed conversation from the comfort of couches in front of a nice warm fire pit which was perfect on a chilly evening. After an hour or so, we headed downstairs to Lorea for a family-style dinner. The restaurant is an open-air space, but long rectangular heaters above run the length of the tables, keeping it nice and warm. There was great live music playing around the corner making the environment even more enjoyable. A parade of appetizers came out shortly after we were seated. The Parker House rolls looked like cinnamon rolls, and were so soft and fluffy. The layers made them even more enjoyable to eat than standard rolls. The sushi platter was visually impressive and colorful. An interesting protein combination was waygu beef and crab, along with salmon and tuna, all served on a bite of crispy rice. I had the waygu and tuna which were very good. The Harvest Apple Salad was light and refreshing. Dinner was served with their signature Laurel cocktail (Lavender-infused Absolut Vodka, orgeat, lemon, carmelized pineapple). It was light and balanced with a little sweetness. Next came the parade of entrees. My favorite was the 32oz Tomahawk steak which was pre-sliced and cooked perfectly medium-rare. It was so tender and flavorful. My favorite sauces were the chimichurri and the peppercorn which was rich. The whipped potatoes were so creamy, it was almost like eating pudding. It was also served with popovers and asparagus. The whole fried fish was moist, flakey, and flavorful. I really enjoyed the mango salad on the side which was crisp and fresh. The grilled chicken was moist and the dish had a lot of different flavors on the plate, but the first two entrees were my favorites. The side dish of roasted acorn squash really surprised me. The slices were buttery but it was brown butter which added a great richness and flavor I wasn't expecting. And the pomegranate seeds added some tartness to round out one of the best veggie side dishes I've had in a long time. I was happy to clean up both plates on our table. You can't have three appetizers and three entrees without having three desserts! I love carrot cake and my eyes lit up when they came out with a plate of whoopee pie looking mini cakes and they were delicious. Another plate had two good sized espresso mini Basque cheesecakes. I'm not a big coffee fan but the flavor was light and I enjoyed several bites. The star of the show was the Apple Alchemy dessert. It is a very colorful plate, and then the bed of dry ice below is activated for a great smoke show. The different versions of apple flavor were great, and it was surprisingly light. If this all wasn't enough, they also served us an after dinner digestif cocktail. The Velour Royal (Hine VSOP, Bailey's salted caramel Irish whiskey) is a little on the strong side with Cognac, but the salted caramel Irish whiskey adds some sweetness to tone it down. It was a great finish to a fantastic meal. Service at both Treehouse and Lorea was excellent, with all staff being very professional and friendly at the same time. Both locations also had a certain classy feel that I really enjoyed. All of the food and drinks were excellent, and I really enjoyed the presentation of the food dishes. I'll look forward to returning to both places soon. As always, it's nice to catch up with Yelpers I've met at other events, and to socialize with new friends. Thanks again for a great evening!

However, the admission fees, parking fees, OUTRAGEOUS costs for food and drinks (spent over $200), was just over the top for us. I knew going in that we were going to splurge a little, however, the cost of some of these food items were INSANE. Truly, some of the best bites was the Birria Eggroll and the Alligator Bites, probably the couple of the cheapest things I bought! The Mango Ube Sticky Rice was also delicious. We also did the silly thing of buying the $30 baby bottle filled with Mango Pineapple Lemonade. It was yummy, and yes, the product itself is silly, but VERY cheap in that the top cracked and eventually was spilling on us throughout the day. We had to eventually throw it away; $30 in the trash. Luckily, we did the smart thing by arriving at 4:00pm (gates opened at 3:00pm) and we left by 8:00pm. Seeing the place fill up and the lines after leaving was shocking! We did not have to wait more than 15 minutes at any food vendor booth. I have read nothing but disappointment from frequent 626 Night Market attendees in the raising costs and mediocre food. I was not super impressed. There were plenty of vendors and I am in support of small businesses, but once again, VERY overpriced. Plus, we came strictly to try the foods. Thanks for the memories, but I will gladly be taking my $200+ for a much better dining experience elsewhere.

Came for Yelp and got to try the coconut match and spicy chicken noodles. The coconut matcha was BOMB, first time trying that combo and it tasted like pandan when mixed together. We added a few more favorites: crispy calamari, garlic noodles with fish and pork tomahawk. Wonderful Asian fusion creations that are compact with so much flavor! Definitely recommend to always have a reservation because this place fills up fast especially towards end of week and the weekends.

We got to try their chicken spicy noodles and coconut matcha. The chicken spicy noodles had the best cooked chicken I have had in awhile. It was super tender and flavorful. The sauce the noodles was mixed in was really delicious. I love that it had a hint of spice and tang. Definitely something worth checking out. The coconut matcha was also absolutely yummy. It had the perfect amount of matcha foam ratio to coconut water. It was super refreshing especially after my gym session. I also got to try the banh mi chao too as well. Everything was so good. The staff was really nice and helpful. They made sure to keep checking on us. I came on a busy Sunday during brunch and they were able to take us in right away at the bar. Overall I had a great time and cannot wait to recommend it to all my friends and family. I will definitely be back to brunch, lunch and happy hour.

Review 109/365 Day Challenge…read more I have came to this restaurant when it was a ramen spot called Ramenos. I've came to this plaza and saw how Rumens is now ONDO Korean restaurant. Didn't realize when I rsvp'd to this event, it was the restaurant that replaced Ramenos. Came here during lunch time around noon. It was really busy and a full house on a Thursday. There is a Yelp wait list that you sign in on a tablet. What I ordered ~ Beef Bibambap for myself. I love bibimbap. The bowl is filled w lots of Korean fresh veggies. ~ Soft Tofu Soup for my father. He got the beef non spicy one. Filled with a lot of tofu and was given an egg for us to crack it into the soup. Both dishes came with a bowl of steam/white rice. The Banchan especially the kimchi is delicious. All which is made in house per the owner Megan. She helped assist with my order and came and checked in on us, sweet gal. Really Authentic Korean Food. Love the vibe, decor and simplicity of modern Korean vibe. Tysm to our CM Hayley & ONDO Korean restaurant for hosting this awesome Elite experience. I'll definitely be back to try their other scrumptious Korean entrees. Located in same plaza as Hobby Lobby, Krak Boba & enchanted coffee shop. Lots of parking available.

This year, $5 from every ticket sale went to the Anaheim White House Restoration Fund. The Anaheim White House, who's proprietor regularly contributes food to the needy, sadly went up in flames last year. However, with fundraisers such as this, hopefully the Anaheim White House will rise like the proverbial phoenix, from the ashes. I'm glad I got to the TOA early, because it quickly became claustrophobic/agoraphobic crowded, especially on the second level. The main chokepoint seemed to be the top of the escalator, where exhibitor tents formed a U, causing a big clusterfrick for most of the night. Food was aplenty & in no short supply. Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles were giving out chicken breast & 1/4 waffle plates at the beginning. That's a full meal for people right there.
