Located inside the vibrant Doral Yard, Sufrat Mediterranean Grill completely took over the night with its bold and authentic Mediterranean flavors. Between the live belly dancing, glowing lights, energetic atmosphere, and eclectic lineup of food that can satisfy just about any craving, Sufrat easily steals the scene.
The hospitality set the tone. Paula, the welcoming host who somehow keeps her eyes on absolutely everything happening in the restaurant, alongside Miguel, the incredibly customer-oriented manager, basically the genie from Aladdin in real life, both went above and beyond to find us a table even though the place was completely packed and we showed up without a reservation. That kind of genuine hospitality instantly creates the best first impression and sets the mood for the entire experience.
Soon after, Jordania introduced herself and guided us through the menu like a true Mediterranean food expert, recommending a little bit of everything so we could fully experience the best of Sufrat. Then Samantha officially took over our table, continuing the same upbeat energy and genuine hospitality the entire team was radiating throughout the night.
To ease into the vibe, we started with cocktails crafted perfectly by the bartenders, fresh, rocky margaritas and a beautifully balanced white sangria that paired effortlessly with the atmosphere.
Then came the starters...The Sufrat Dip Sampler: creamy hummus, smoky baba ghanoush, tangy labneh, and rich muhammara, all practically begging to be scooped up with their warm freshly baked pita. Honestly, it turned into a full "scarpetta" situation because leaving any of those dips behind simply wasn't an option. Alongside it, the kibbeh, perfectly seasoned ground beef mixed with spices and fried to crispy perfection, paired beautifully with every dip on the table.
As the Mediterranean energy kept building, the night suddenly shifted into full celebration mode when a belly dancing performance took over the venue. Some guests even got up to join the dancing, proving that Shakira's hips aren't the only ones that don't lie. The entire atmosphere became lively, festive, and incredibly immersive.
For the mains, the Sufrat Mix Platter arrived loaded with beef kebab, chicken, grilled meats, crispy seasoned fries, and a refreshing Greek salad topped with those unmistakable briny olives that give it that extra Mediterranean punch. The star of the night? The lamb chops. Tender, juicy, and packed with that distinctive earthy, slightly gamey flavor that makes lamb such a standout compared to chicken or pork. I paired them with fries, Greek salad, and tabbouleh, which for my personal taste leaned a little too tangy, though a touch more mint could have balanced it beautifully.
To finish the experience, the team surprised us with a tiramisu that instantly climbed into my list of favorites in Miami. Creamy, layered perfectly, full of deep coffee notes with just the right hint of cinnamon, every layer stood out individually while blending together flawlessly. Paired with a freshly brewed cappuccino, it was delightful because honestly... there's no tiramisu without cappuccino.
And of course, no Mediterranean feast is complete without baklava. Their pistachio baklava arrived gently soaked in honey, layered with crunchy nuts and rich pistachios that wrapped up the evening on the sweetest possible note.
Sufrat truly lives up to its name, a generous spread of food meant to be shared in great company inside a cozy, energetic environment full of life.
