This is a well friendly business establishment for anyone who wants to learn Takewondo. The Masters and Jr. Masters are friendly and very patients in teaching and explaining the techniques. A 13-year taekwondo veteran myself, I'm happy I made the right decision to have my 6-year old daughter join Elite Taekwondo Center in La Palma. Master Victor and all his Black Belt Instructors are all awesome from top-down, with the right balance of instruction, discipline, and empathy. Although the TKD curriculum is not as rigorous as I remember practicing back in the day, I noticed Elite Taekwondo's curriculum is PERFECT for kids today since their attention span is not as sharp as ours was/is. This is great because ultimately you want your kids to both have fun and benefit from martial arts without adding any frustration/anxiety. Previously my daughter tried ballet and gymnastics, but personally those activities were a little too repetitive, expensive, and strict (snobby, perfectionism). It's been almost 4 months and she will soon testt for her Yellow belt. Why is this important? The allure of martial arts (especially taekwondo) beyond the usual stuff (ex: exercising, discipline...etc) is my daughter gets to progress through the ranks which is tangible and goal oriented. Future parents of sports kids, do yourself a favor and put your kids in TKD early to build a solid foundation of speed, stamina, strength, agility, accuracy, acceleration, flexibility, power, coordination and balance. We always pass by this place since they were very little and yet my kids were Never interested in taking taekwondo until recently they said they wanted to try it. It has been several months now and they have moved to purple belt and absolutely enjoy going to class three times a week. I as a parent, love that the instructors and master Victor know my kids names from the beginning! There are so many kids and I love that they truly make the effort to get to know my kids names and faces. We were introduced to Elite Taekwondo Center through a close friend of ours are so thankful my two girls found this place. My oldest is a bit on the shy side and the youngest is by far the opposite and finding any sport/activity can be tricky where both kids can enjoy and thrive. To make the long review brief, my girls fell in love with Taekwondo from day one and has never turned back. Master Victor is very hands on whether you are a beginner or a black belt. His ability to connect with younger kids all the way up to high school is amazing and gives me assurance Elite is the best place for my girls to grow in confidence, strength, and discipline. In addition, all the instructors are amazing with the students and provide additional support. If you are looking for a sport where you want your kids to grow in self confidence, discipline, and have a sense of ownership, Elite Taekwondo is the best place to go. My daughter is in 4th grade. She came home one day excited about her friends TaeKwonDo practice, which is unusual because she's not the most athletic. Since she had a couple friends that went a couple times a week, they told her to join because it was so cool and a lot of fun. Admittedly, I was hesitant because I didn't think my daughter could stay committed and it would end up being a waste of money. I was wrong. She went for a month and absolutely fell in love with it. Not only did she love hanging out with her friends, but she was getting good exercise and amazingly she wasn't complaining about it. It's been over a year now and she's been committed while having fun. My sweet girl once told me, "I want to compete in Vegas like some of my friends do...Can someone take me?" We would never expect that she would soon compete not just in Vegas but in other national competitions. She is now a 2X National Champion for her age group and the 2022 National Team member for USA Taekwondo, which is the the national governing body of Taekwondo for the United States. She was also the AAU National Champion in 3 categories: Sports Poomsae, Traditonal Poomsae, and Open Poomsae competitions. She would not have been able to achieve these goals without Master Victor's help from this studio. Not every Taekwondo studio is the same. If you would like your kids to learn the proper techniques and have better discipline, then this is the best place in the area. We drive 45 min to 1 hour, at least 3 days a week, to this studio to get trained for national competitions. And it's all worth it. So if you live in La Palma or anywhere in Orange County, this is a wonderful studio for kids to train, learn, and grow. read more

After sitting into a class and observing, I knew we were in the right place. My daughter anticipates her classes each week. She constantly asks me when is her next taekwondo class. I see her improving even though she is still fairly new. She practices at home and is assigned "homework" which is great. I am unduly impressed with Master Victor and how he runs his class. He gives one on one attention to those who need more help and the 45 minutes class is ample time for the kids to practice and get in their groove. We've been part of Elite Taekwondo for 12+ years. Our youngest who was there since she was 4 is about to graduate and go to college. She finished her 2nd degree black belt 4 years ago. Elite Taekwondo is very well organized and trains the kids in a systemic fashion. The kids learn many different aspects. Master Victor does teach them good values, other than just Taekwondo techniques, which is great. He is very good with kids and also keeps patience at times when another individual could given up easily. Master Victor is also always available for any kids to ask questions in class. Instructors Josh , Christian and others also keep it fun for the kids, not only during class but before the class starts. You can see almost all kids playing ball with the instructors. We transferred our kiddo to ETC from another TKD studio, hoping for a different experience. At the previous studio it felt like everything they did there was related to squeezing more money from their members. Oh, you want to participate in board breaking this week? That'll be another $5. Belt test? Another $50 each time. The problem with that is that our son would be passing each belt test even though we felt he didn't perform the requirements well. ETC feels different and that is attributable to their Masters - Master Victor (owner and head Master) and Master David. When the first belt testing was coming near, we weren't pressured to have our son take the test. In fact if I remember correctly we were told that he wasn't ready and they would reevaluate the next belt test. Both Masters Victor and David seem genuinely interested and concerned in all the kids. Unlike the other studio, I've only seen kids here as students whereas the previous dojang had people of all ages mixed together. Master Victor is firm but caring and does a good job of keeping the kiddos in line without being mean or scary. Master David is also firm, but is more lighthearted with the kids - he often makes them crack up because he's so funny. We have seen a marked difference in our son at this studio compared to the last. So far we haven't heard him whine about it and complain about having to go. Overall he seems to enjoy it. Overall we have been quite pleased with the instruction and the professionalism we've seen. Hoping our son continues to gain strength, self-confidence, and discipline from being involved with TKD. read more
