I actually met Thy as she was coming outside and I just parked asking if there was ramp access because I had my baby niece with me. She was super sweet then. Not even knowing I was going to her establishment. Thy was incredible. She helped me on the popular drink menu between the two choices we had and also something to snack on because I was incredibly hungry after leaving my meeting. I chose the blueberry blush. I had the full sweetness, with no eyes but shaking. Topped off with honey boba and the boba that it came with. **I give the tea a 9/10. It was not overly sweet and the blueberry taste was certainly present but not too powerful. It's definitely a beverage I could see myself drinking daily. My niece actually LOVED it and she's only 10 months. I also had the regular karate chicken. Level 3 spice with basil. The chicken was a solid 10. Point. Blank. Period. It's what you would want from Korean chicken. It was crispy but tender. Spicy, but not unbearable. It also came with sauces if you'd like and I chose the sweet chili. The sweet chili itself was incredibly delicious. But paired with the chicken?? So so yummy. The chicken on its own is a 10 but this sweet chili sauce absolutely elevated it. Then...as I was taking pictures... BOOM! SPLASHHHH...boba went a'flyin' everywhere on the floor. Yay me. I sure know how to stick a landing. Perfect 10! I informed Thy, and without hesitation she came with a broom and a mop. And still had a smaller face. She even offered to make me another one even though the splash was completely my fault. I almost wanted to tear up in gratitude. Truly. I was a bit overwhelmed this morning and that small act of kindness was so appreciated. It was nice to venture out to Chinatown for this Elite Experience as I don't frequent the Alief area too often. I always appreciate the opportunity to check out one of the many boba tea places around town. The store is extremely small. It wasn't busy when I visited, but there were a few customers. They only have two tables indoor and I noticed a table on the patio outside. I didn't get the gentleman's name that took my order but he was very nice. I ordered the Blueberry Blush with 75% sweetness and regular ice. I didn't add any additional toppings. I really enjoyed the drink! I thought the flavors were balanced. I could taste the tea, but it wasn't overly bitter. The blueberry was good and I really enjoyed the diced white peaches. If I were to order the drink again, I would go down to 50% sweetness as 75% was just a tad too sweet. The lanyard and car freshener was a nice surprise! I never expect extra swag with freebies. So generous of the staff to do that for us! I was happy to see a cash tip jar as many places don't seem to have tip jars anymore. I didn't purchase any other items, though some of the food items caught my eye. I also noticed the photo ops around the store which is basically standard these days. Wow, they do say that 3rd times a charm. The first time I was here it was during their opening weekend, that experience fell short. So I decided to give them a 2nd chance and return back a week later, yet again it was the same results. Customer service is always on point and the staff is helpful and kind, however their drinks were weak in terms of tea flavor. I'm glad I had the opportunity to join this elite week and give them one last chance & they did not disappoint. I think they listened to their customers like myself and took the constructive feedback and made changes for the better. I went ahead and got their Earl grey milk tea as the complementary drink & a bootea shaker. They also had some hand batter shrimp which caught my attention so I ordered that as well. It also comes with white rice & corn. The earl grey milk tea was delicious, strong herbal tea flavor and the right amount of sweetness. The bootea shaker had just enough tea flavor for me to give it a thumbs up. It was refreshing and I can taste the peach & mango together, but I didn't really get any pineapple flavor. So for the shrimp, they give you an option from a 1-5 scale on how spicy you would like them to prepare it. I went ahead and said 3. To be honest I didn't expect for it to be spicy but it was. For someone who loves spicy and can handle it, let's just say it had my nose running and my eyes a bit watery. I can't imagine how spicy 5 would be. I'm not sure if he was heavy handed on the spice but it definitely got me. The shrimp was lightly battered & seasoned very well. The rice was soft and fluffy and the corn was fine. To be honest, I would've been fine with just the shrimp. It also came with a sauce that tastes like oyster sauce/hoisin sauce/Sriracha sauce mixed together. Overall, this time around they got it together & I'm proud of them. The service from Vy was outstanding & she also listened to my feedback from my prior visits. Thank you Yelp Houston, CM Jando, and this business owner and staff for this offering. Parking, was shared lot, with lots of options. You take the stairs to get to the business, as it's on a 2nd floor from the ground floor. I arrived on Sunday evening. Luckily there was only 1 customer that left shortly after I arrived, so I had the place to myself. I was able to relax and settle in the space, before another customer came in as I was leaving. Thi (sp) was the staff member that rang me up. She was kind and friendly. She explained the Yelp freebie and she told me her personal fav of the two. I decided on the blueberry blush at 50% sweet and light ice. I liked it. Then to support this local biz I ordered the shrimp basket, small at $8.99, medium heat and it was more heat than I thought! But I enjoyed. Came out very sizzling with heat. I decided on the ranch rather than the syracha sauce. That turned out to be a good choice, as the ranch cooled down the heat. I didn't get a chance to learn much about the business and backstory. The staff kind of scurried off. But I appreciate an Elite week always. They seem to have multi locations across town. I've been here a few times and happy to find them for Yelp Elite Week. I identified myself and asked about the two drinks offered. The attendant was very helpful, explained the tea types used and the ingredients. I ordered the Blueberry Blush, liked that it has the pieces of white peach in the drink. I ordered it at 50% sweetness with no additional toppings. It was light on the tea and the perfect amount of sweetness for me. The tea was refreshing and fruity, just the way I usually like my tea. I also received a free lanyard but was advised that they were out of the air freshener. Still a cute lanyard that I can use for my keys! I went on Sunday around 7:30 PM and parking was a struggle. I think this center has too many businesses for the parking lot size. Luckily I got dropped off but it deterred my friend from coming in to order his own drink. Another much appreciated elite week event! They have plenty of parking and there are tons of other great places to try nearby and in the shopping center in which Tastea is located. I had the pleasure of bumping into the lovely Miss Moquita upon walking in. She was enjoying their shrimp and seasoned fries and raved about how delicious they both were. I ordered the Blueberry Earl Grey tea w/ Stevia, 50% sweetened. It tasted fully sweetened but it was very delicious and refreshing, especially the sweet juicy small chunks of white peaches that were inside. I didn't purchase anything but made sure to tip. The service provided was swift and stellar as well. I LOVE the car air freshener. It smells so good. What a nice and creative gift. The lanyard is also nice. This little tea shop was a nice treat. Apple Maps took me to the wrong side of the parking lot and I felt foolish when I realized I drove right past it without paying attention. It's located right at the entrance of the parking lot to the shopping strip. Inside it quite small with only two tables. Staff was super friendly and walked me thru the options. You're able to choose your sweetness level and how much ice you want. You also have the options to add extra boba. I decide to have the blueberry blush and it was great. I picked the 100% sweetness level with light ice. I was then asked if I wanted topped off as I was getting it with less ice. Again so accommodating! A new boba spot that's just popped up in Chinatown! I came mid-afternoon on a weekday on my way home from work and was able to walk right up to the counter. Aside from myself, there was a table of Vietnamese aunties sitting at a table spilling the (Tas)tea among themselves. The Elite Week promo is a complimentary 20 oz Earl Grey milk tea or 20 oz Blueberry Blush fruit tea. They even threw in a small ziplock bag of Tastea swag and goodies. Given the abnormally warm fall we've been having lately, a fruit tea sounded perfect so I went for the Blueberry Blush. Staff was friendly in explaining the promo and got my order out in less than 2 minutes - barely a wait! The Blueberry Brush comes with white peach cubes at the bottom but I added on honey boba. Their boba comes in assorted colors which is fun! The tea was very refreshing and I liked the peaches at the bottom. The colorful boba had an appropriate amount of chewiness to it, so no complaints here. I finished my entire drink on the drive home, so you can get an idea of how I liked it. My only recommendation would be to have a low-sweetness option. There were sweetness levels of 100%, 75%, 50%, or 0%. If you notice the increments, there is a 25% missing! I typically go for this low level of sweetness for my boba, so I just wish it didn't go from half-sweet to no sweet at all. Thanks to Jando and the team at Tastea for having us for this Elite Week. Super friendly service and delicious milk tea. I actually didn't know this place was here until this event! The interior was clean and well maintained. Although a bit small inside, there was still a seating area. The milk tea wasn't as strong as I preferred, but it was still refreshing and had its place on my milk tea list. I'm curious to try other drinks on a future visit. The menu seemed interesting. Parking was surprisingly difficult to find. Cars filled up the entire lot all the way towards the street. Such a cute shop! I remember first trying Tastea in California, and always wondered when they'd open one in Houston. They gave us Yelp Elites a lanyard with our drink :) The girl that took our order let us know that the drinks are pretty sweet so we lowered the sugar to 50%, which was the perfect amount. The Earl Grey Milk Tea had a great pronounced earl grey flavor compared to other boba shops in the area. There are also milk substitutions as well. The Blueberry Blush with Peaches was okay. I love Blueberry, but I find the blueberry a bit artificial tasting. The peaches were a nice touch! Personally, I don't think peaches a blueberries don't work together. Took the opportunity to visit Tastea, since I was visiting Bellaire for my birthday breakfast, at Besty's. Very friendly staff members. I met Author who held the door open as I entered and collected my order, and even charged my dying phone as I waited and socialize with two other elites who visited after my arrival. I got early gray tea half sweet and half ice. The tea has a really light and refreshing taste. Not too sweet. The boba i added was sweet and chewy. Very good consistency. Service was great. I was even able to add boba after I had already received the drink. The email check-in actually directed me to a different event (Michael Cookie?), so I had to go to the counter to scan the correct QR code. They also didn't seem to check whether attendees were Elites or not--I'd like to believe everyone was honest, but it was worth noting. The RSVP email also mentioned no +1s, but the bottom of the email said +1s were allowed, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I didn't get any extra drinks since I wanted to follow the rules and support the business fairly. As for the drinks, the Earl Grey Milk Tea was creamy and smooth--not too sweet, though I personally wish the 100% sweetness level was a bit sweeter. I noticed some people had reviewed the blueberry drink, which turned out to have white peach flavor?--something I would've tried if I knew it had peach in it! My fault for not reading the descriptions haha! The drinks came out quickly, and the place got crowded fast. The first tastea in Houston! (and maybe Texas?) Tastea is known for their fruit teas with fruit bits in them, so from the selection, I chose the blueberry blush. I got mine made with stevia! This is probably the first boba shop I've seen with stevia. I also added honey boba (the popular green boba) and they were perfectly chewy. Tastea is a rather unique boba shop in my opinion. It occupies a much smaller space than most boba shops, meaning you can't really sit down to chat with friends after receiving your drinks, or bring your laptop to do some work. But I'm delightfully surprised that they offer cooked food on the menu, where most boba shops do not. Perfect for my fatass cuz I always have the munchies. Fun Yelp Elite event! I got to try the Earl Grey Milk Tea after they made a fresh batch. When ordering, I lessened the sugar one tier below, and I thought it was the perfect amount of sweetness. The milk tea had a good balance of creaminess while still retaining the natural tea flavor. My partner got the Krypteanite to support which is a matcha and vanilla blended drink and that was also good! I liked that the drink was not too icy, and the matcha flavor was definitely there. Because I'm usually a milk tea girl, I was on the fence between the Earl Grey milk tea and the Blueberry Blush (Blueberry + Earl Grey tea with white peach slices); ultimately, I chose the Blueberry Blush (50% sugar) because it's I'd be getting an experimental drink for free. :D The service was efficient and friendly too. Overall, the combination of blueberries, peaches, and Earl Grey is an interesting mix. They have a "top-off" option that lets you add more tea whenever you request less sugar, which is one thing that I love about Tastea! It was a refreshing drink, not too sweet, and the flavors of blueberry and Earl Grey were both present, neither overpowering the other. I wouldn't say this is one of my Top 3 favorite drinks, but I'm glad I was able to try the Blueberry Blush anyway! I was so excited to see a tea/boba shop for Elite Week and couldn't resist not RSVPing to check it out in Chinatown. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted, and I immediately noticed the cute decor! I love a well-designed, aesthetic tea shop! I scanned the QR code to check in, and the girl at the counter kindly mentioned the drinks available for Elite Week which included the Blueberry Blush and the Earl Grey Milk Tea. I decided to go with the Blueberry Blush since it sounded refreshing. I also tried the Jasmine Milk Tea with honey boba. One of the things I really appreciate about boba shops these days is the ability to adjust the sweetness level, and this place had that option too. Both drinks were delicious, and I'd definitely order them again. They also had food items on the menu, so I'll definitely have to come back when my son and I are feeling snacky! I also did ask about caffeine-free options since I have a little one. The staff mentioned that most of their drinks are tea-based which means they do contain caffeine. However, their frozen fruit drinks are caffeine-free, so that's a great alternative if you're looking to avoid caffeine. My friends and I ordered the following: 20 oz Blueberry Blush Lite sweet, less ice, and honey boba 20 oz Matcha Thai Milk Tea w/boba 32 oz Honeydew w/boba Since I usually get milk teas, I thought I'd switch it up by ordering the Blueberry Blush. I was a little worried at first because I'm not the biggest fan of blueberry but the drink was refreshing and had chunks of peach which was nice. The boba was green which I thought was interesting but it tasted fine. As for the sugar, I'm glad I got the Lite level because even then I thought it was a little too sweet. Having seen the sign a few times, I've been wanting to try Tastea but just hadn't gotten around to it so was really glad when this popped up as a YEE. I ordered the earl grey milk tea with grass jelly. The tea taste wasn't as strong as I typically prefer but the milk tea was still yummy and creamy! The grass jelly was soft and was a nice compliment to the milk tea. Our cashier was extremely friendly and kind. Aesthetically, Tastea is very bright and clean. Most of the times, I prefer a fruity drink. And this offer had chunks of peach. Pretty cool recipe, especially when the drink isn't that sweet. Elite weeks are my favorite because I get to grab and go at my convenience without the pressure to socialize lol. I was able to try both the blueberry tea and the early grey milk tea. We ordered both of these drinks at 50% sweetness and normal ice. The blueberry tea was actually really refreshing and fragrant and perfectly sweet at 50%. Of the two, the earl grey milk tea was my preferred drink, also perfectly sweet at 50%. While the earl grey did not stand out compared to other boba shops, it was a very good rendition of the drink. The space is small with only two benches and tables inside and some outdoor seating available. Ventured into Chinatown to find Tastea for the Yelp Elite event. I had never been to this shopping center before so I was excited to venture into parts of Chinatown I hadn't been before. Tastea was easy to find and also had a large parking lot so parking was easy. If you know about Chinatown parking in the more popular areas, you know parking can sometimes be an adventure. They gave me two options for the Yelp event, an earl grey milk tea or a blueberry blush. I'm a fan of earl grey tea so I went with the milk tea. They mentioned their drinks run on the sweeter side so I got my milk tea at 50% sweetness and added boba. The drink came out quickly and the 50% sweetness was definitely the right move. The boba was soft and chewy and I could tell it was fresh. I would come back to Tastea to try some more of their menu! There's not much seating inside. Just two tables to hang out at so the store is not very big. We got a small swag bag that had a Tastea lanyard and air freshener in it so that was an awesome touch to the experience. Originally I thought this Tastea was located in Chinatown but it was really on the outskirts of Chinatown- I wouldn't consider it the best place it town but the area seemed to be the same vibe as Chinatown! When I arrived Sunday around 3pm it was packed! The inside is very tiny and there were maybe 10 people waiting for drinks. I came up to the register and they were so friendly! I decided to go with the Earl grey tea with boba - the register lady apologized for the chaos and added free boba to my drink. When the drink arrived it was larger than I expected! My sister in law in California had recommended this place and even told us about Tastea's grand opening in Houston! However, driving to the this part of Bellaire is really not my fave, so when the Yelp Elite event popped up, I knew I had to sign up because it would finally give me a reason to come try! I have mixed feelings about only having two options to choose from for the event. Like other reviewers, it does make deciding SO much easier, and that is a plus. However, there were other teas on the menu that I would've picked over Earl Grey or the blueberry Earl Grey drink. Nevertheless, I ended up with Earl Grey no sugar because I wanted to sample the essence of the tea, and didn't want other fruity flavors to distract. The lady at the counter was very nice and asked if I wanted to top off the drink since I asked for no ice. Unfortunately, my drink still came with ice :( that was disappointing because ice totally dilutes the drink! The tea was very fragrant, so I appreciated that. I love a boba shop that also offers food and snacks -- it feels very Vietnamese and nostalgic to me. I wasn't hungry this time, but I'll definitely be back to try their food. The shop was clean and the staff were super friendly, they explained everything really well. We got the earl grey milk tea and the blueberry blush, both were delicious. The EG was super fragrant and tasted like high-quality tea. The blueberry blush had fruit chunks which I thought complemented the drink pretty well. Side note: Their drinks are on the sweeter side, consider ordering 75% or even 50% sweetness depending on your taste. read more

For this event, you had the option of blueberry or earl grey tea. I chose the earl grey and it was delicious. I got it 75% sugar and 50% ice. It was just the right sweetness and creaminess. We were also given the choice of toppings. I chose the pudding and it was like delicious crème brûlée. The early grey had super great strong tea flavor and perfectly matched the pudding. It was overall a delicious drink! I will say the location is small so if you're looking for a place to sit around and drink a boba, you will have to look elsewhere. This was a very nice in and out location, and had max 2 seats inside, which mostly looked for waiting for your order. It's a plaza location and it's located in the corner of the lot. There's tons of parking, which I love because you don't have to fight with anyone. The service at Tastea was also the superb. If you get less ice inside your drink, they will top off the gap between your drink and the top of the tea. Jennet was also the sweetest! She was a great boba maker and server! She was so upbeat and cheery, and it made the experience that much more friendly. The lanyard and the air freshener were also adorable! The air freshener smells like lychee and it has made my car extremely fun to sit into. read more

Thank you to the Elite team for this awesome event! Ordering was super easy and I liked that they had a top off option since I got less ice. Thank you to Tastea for the super cute lanyard too! I ordered the earl gray milk tea with boba and was pleasantly surprised! The earl gray flavor was bolder than in other places I tried which is really nice. The milk tea was creamy and wasn't overly sweet which kept me wanting to reach for more. Their boba was chewy throughout which I loved. It was just right - wasn't too soft or too hard. read more

Just WOW! I was so excited when Tastetea when I saw it as a Yelp Elite Event. And I wasn't surprised, service and drink were top notch. Thuy was super nice and friendly, I asked for light ice for my Earl Grey Milk Tea and she kindly topped it off for me. As for my drink, it was really good! It creamy yet at the same time refreshing. I could definitely taste the earl grey in the milk tea. Overall, I was super happy with my experience and definitely be back to try the rest of their menu items read more

Love where they're located. This shopping center is slowly becoming my favorite in Chinatown The employees were super sweet and knowledgeable! Helped perfect my delicious drink to my preference! My first time at Tastea was in California and since then, I've enjoyed many of their drinks after they opened in Houston. The tea shop is best known for its signature green honey boba which adds a playful pop of color and a unique touch to the drink. I ordered the Earl Grey Milk Tea paired with their signature boba, the staff recommended 50% sweetness to let the tea's flavor come through and it was the perfect balance. The drink was smooth, creamy, and was made just like the way I like it. I appreciate the friendly service, and how fresh everything tasted. Tastea is definitely one of my go to spots for quality and consistently great drinks. read more
