What an absolutely really awful company to deal with. I have been purchasing items from Ellis Brigham for the past few years and, always a different experience each time. On some occasions my partner and I were made to feel as though we were little more than an inconvenience - perhaps with only a £49.99 purchase? We recently purchased a pair of Saloman walking shoes, on the understanding that we could return them for a full refund if unused etc. The young lady assistant AS could not have been more helpful and attentive, and she spent quite some time with each of us. We paid cash as we were clear that my partner wanted a different colour, returning would not be a problem Amanda emphasised, within the 21 day period. To no surprise, my partner felt the following day that the colour was not acceptable and as agreed, I returned the shoes the following day. I was met with hostility, passive aggression and generally a really bad attitude from the Bristol store manager EC. They did not have the £115 cash and could not refund me. They would send me a cheque within 14 working days...., I was thrust their Terms and Conditions right under my nose by another assistant in a very hostile way... and it wane on and on. I don't think that I have ever been made to feel so out of place as in Ellis Brigham. he did not want to give me a receipt for the returned shoes, got even more nasty. I asked if they had a company customer service manager who I could talk with on the phone. I was told no, you have to call the shop!
I left the shop with their catalogue, called with mail order customer service and spoke with them, who absolutely agreed with me and could not believe my experience. We arranged for the refund to be paid to my bank card... I await their MDs phone call. read more
