After seeing all the Tik Tok videos of the food here, we just had to stop in while we were driving through town. I was pumped that parking was free, just around the corner in a garage. Super surprised that it wasn't slammed. We walked right in at lunch time and were just about the only ones there. The menu is overwhelming. I feel like I'd need to eat here for like a month straight to actually try everything that I want to. My son eats like a bird so he stuck to the "basic" menu and got the cookies and cream waffle. That was breakfast, lunch and dessert all in one. They did not skip on the crushed oreos. My daughter and I needed to see some of the viral dishes for ourselves so we stuck to the Social Media section of the menu. She got the Fried Chicken Mac N Cheese burrito and I got the Smash Wrap. Neither one of us finished even half of our mains. They are huge! Bigger isn't always better but the quality was not lost in the size. They were also delicious. We both loved the mac n cheese filling. Our waitress was super sweet and when she found out we were traveling, she threw in some complimentary "famous" cinnamon sugar donuts for the ride. I forgot to get a pic of those, but they were nice and fresh, even after we waited a few hours before eating them because we just about rolled out of there after eating so much. I loved the atmosphere of the diner! Unfortunately when we went was so noisy that we could barely hear our server or ourselves at the table. The food was great and plentiful. They have special desserts that really are for 2-4 people not 1. They do love to celebrate birthdays with the whole staff singing! The menu is very strict and they would not just bring 1 pancake for the toddler at our table at whatever the cost or an extra bowl of fruit. It was just okay overall. There were plenty of tables and no wait at all on a Saturday at 1pm. The appetizer sampler was good, especially the onion rings and egg rolls, which were the best part. My friends and I wanted to see what the fuss was about, so we went here for lunch. Wow am I glad we did. Ambience wasn't anything special but the waitstaff were enthusiastic and they know how to have fun (two of them randomly broke out into song behind the bar). Food was spectacular. I started with the gnocchi alla vodka. The gnocchi was the perfect texture; pillowy with a bit of bite. The vodka sauce was creamy, cheesy and savory. Since this restaurant is all about over the top meals, they dropped a Parmesan encrusted fried burrata on top, which was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I loved this immensely. Then I got something off the viral section of the menu;: the fried chicken Mac n cheese monster burrito. The Mac n cheese tasted very average, but the fried chicken had an excellent flavor and the "special sauce" is definitely worthy of being called special. Smoky, creamy and wonderfully seasoned. Thankfully they give you a syringe filled with it when they bring it to you; I made sure to use it ALL. We saw a reel on fb and had to try it. We booked a room and made the 4hr drive the next night. It was 100% worth it. We sat near the kitchen so we got to see all the amazing concoction coming out. The serving sizes were huge and delicious. Were trying to figure out if we have time to grab breakfast before we hit the road to drive home. We've already told a bunch of people at home they need to take the trip w us next time. Im kind of glad its a 4hr drive away other wise I wouldnt fit through the door. Very solid diner, it's just pricey, even for the regular, non-crazy food. We ordered the crispy chicken wrap, which had avocado and bacon in it among other things, and a kids mac and cheese. The wrap came out to $22 with curly fries, which felt a bit steep. The ambiance is fun and modern inside, but the booths aren't that comfortable. Someone behind me kept bumping me from behind. I'll start to say that we didn't order any of the wild dishes that they are more well known for. We ordered pretty standard food, but I will say the portion sizes were great and all the food was delicious. The staff was very nice and attentive. They brought us some of their house made donuts near the end of the meal on the house. I imagine they were maybe making a new batch and had leftovers (I saw them taking some donuts to another table too). Or maybe it was because we went with the small child and they thought it would be nice for her. Either way, it was very nice. The decor and atmosphere is really nice. I really enjoyed the vibe. They definitely have some epic dishes on their menu that I think we will come back to try on a day when we don't have a young kid in tow. It's definitely meant more for adults than children, although kids aren't out of place there. We had the souvlaki platter, the grains and greens salad bowl, and the kids Mac and cheese. We ordered two Steak & egg , both steaks came out well done when asked for medium rare, the home fries don't taste good at all. Our sever doesn't seems to care, idk just the feeling... after we mentioned the steak was not done right, we didn't get any reaction back.. oh well... Have been to the sister location before and decided to try this location out. It's located in a plaza that's pretty set back and you will miss it If you are not careful. Staff was super attentive Good came out fast but was pretty highly priced 6 wings came out to 15.00 while the wings were good and had great flavor that price is steep. We decided to try this restaurant as it's new and close to our home. As we walked in on a Sunday afternoon we were surprisingly seated quickly. Ordered an appetizer and two entrees. My wife's food was very good, mine was ok - (the lamb was a bit too salty on the gyro and too crispy for my taste). However their onion rings were amazing. The portion size was off the charts. They even also brought us two 'on the house' donuts which were delicious. The restaurant isn't huge but had a nice open layout with good space between tables. Today, I decided to do a daring order on UberEats and finally get around to trying out Elm Street Diner. I've been meaning to give this place a try ever since I first learned about their Stamford location on DevourPowerTV's YouTube shorts, and especially after I learned they were opening up a location here in Norwalk! I actually almost went on their first Friday night, but I didn't want to be walking into a crowded space with a big backpack full of stuff. If I had gone that night, my review of this place would have been posted right there and then. So I had ordered up the Chicken Mozzarella Vodka Melt with Waffle Fries, and I was also supposed to get a Chocolate Shake to go along with it. That being said, I understand how stacked those milkshakes get, so I will not be holding anyone responsible for not getting the drink. I work 7 miles away in Wilton, so I get it is a big ask to deliver one of these to the next town over. I still want to try one in the future though. Now onto the food I got. I took these photos at work, but don't let the fact you have an aluminum bowl for this bowl fool you! These portions sizes are generous and will certainly hit the spot! The waffle fries are crack they are so addictive! The way they are seasoned is worth getting these alone. They go even better if you're out having a picnic and decided to bring this for lunch. As for the sandwich itself, they put in a chicken cutlet, a few mozzarella sticks, a healthy amount of vodka sauce, and of course I added bacon. Seriously, you'll love this sandwich! Oh, and I love how on my bag it says "Have a Great Day!" The fact they handwritten this tells me that customer service is at least something Elm Street Diner cares about. It's cute and very much appreciated, especially in times like these. Really, I only give this 4 stars and not 5 because I want to be able to give this restaurant a proper visit and try more of their items. If food keeps being this good and I get good in-person service, I'll gladly bump this up to a 5! That said, I will definitely order from here again! read more

I've been to the Stamford location a few times but this was my first time at this location. This location had a beautiful entrance with flowers and a fountain. The restaurant has the same spectacular comfort foods that are totally instagrammable and delicious. Today. Is not the day. Beautiful breakfast with family and friends? No. I ordered an omelet. Western style. Let's put our heads together. Do omelets come with the shell? Hmm. Still thinking? Hmm. Id say no. Was this a problem that couldn't be solved? Of course not. This problem was discovered half way through my omelet. I asked if the meal could be discounted. Considering im picking shells out of each bite of the remaining egg slab. I was offered a new omelet. Which would have benefited me earlier on. The issue is im no longer hungry. As I'm writing this I'm still siting at my table waiting on my bill. First let me just say I was excited to come here seen a TikTok video. Waiter Luis S. Seems ok first 2 minutes but after seems like he was rushing my partner and I to order. My partner and I decided to share pancakes he wanted the cheesecake cinnamon crunch one but the cheesecake was frozen fine so we decided to get the red velvet oreo pancakes and I order scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and home fries let me just say bland no seasoning at all turkey sausage seems like it was boiled had to add salt, pepper, ketchup and Tabasco sauce fine no problem still ate it. Pancake were ok just regular slice of red velvet cake on top whipped cream and raspberry chocolate drizzle. More raspberry sauce was the best thing Oreo crumble underneath each pancakes. Sure great. Couldn't find Luis to asked for the bill so I asked the hostess as we sitting there I'm looking around seeing glass of water on each table but mines so now I'm thinking do I have to ask for water or was Luis supposed to ask if I want some well none so I asked the hostess the question about the water I was supposed to be offered the water I wasn't she apologized and I left. Completely turn off from this spot maybe it was the breakfast but I will not try lunch. This restaurant is much smaller in person than the pictures online show, and it seems to be consistently busy. My friends and I wanted to see what all the hype was about, so this was an outing for my birthday. Originally our party of four was told it was a 40 minute wait, then it changed in a matter of five minutes to us being seated. The restaurant wasn't the cleanest, and looked to be in somewhat of disarray. Our sever kept appearing and disappearing, so we tried to make sure all requests for items needed went in as soon as possible. There is an instagram-able list on the menu, which is where my crispy chicken cesar burrito came from (which showed up with a syringe of dressing.) My husband ordered the pancake tacos which were very hot and messy. My friends also ordered food but I didn't get pictures of their plates. Honestly, the food was mediocre with the exception of the chocolate layered cake, that was amazing. The four of us weren't impressed. We did get a piece of rainbow cake on the house, we still don't know why exactly, but we took it home. There were a lot of decadent deserts, especially those that contain a roman candle. However, unless you are an influencer, and love to post on Instagram, this restaurant probably isn't for you. I doubt I'll return. read more

I won't lie, I tried it too and it just wasn't good. The flavors didn't mix at all and there wasn't much egg or bacon to work with. For $26 it should be a lot better! I ordered chocolate chip pancakes without all the special toppings, as well as a side of hashbrowns. They were ok. Truly nothing special here. I'd prefer going to a regular diner any day. It's tucked under a cute little apartment complex in the heart of Norwalk, kind of like a secret level in a video game, if the prize at the end was a sugar coma and a nap. We went on a Tuesday, post-aquarium, after our peaceful morning was abruptly ended by a fire alarm. Because nothing says "family outing" like sprinting past a tank of jellyfish while carrying a toddler and half a pretzel. This place thrives on going viral. Every dish looks like it lost a bet. We got the sampler appetizer, a burrito that could double as a free weight, a Caesar Crunch Wrap, a California omelet, and some kiddo chicken nuggets for my 4-year-old. The portions? Unholy. I'm talking biblical proportions. You don't get a doggy bag here--you get a body bag. The Smashito (a burger, mac and cheese, and bacon all wrapped in a burrito, because... America?) will feed me until next Tuesday. I made it through half of half. That's math for "I gave up honorably." Flavor-wise? Ehh. It's edible. Good even. But let's be honest--they're swinging for the 'Gram, not the James Beard Award. My wife's Caesar Crunch Wrap had big "Instagram influencer but no inner substance" energy. We got the Elm Street Cake Shake, which I think is technically a cry for help. This thing had an Oreo ice cream sandwich, a chocolate cake slice, a cupcake, a cookie, a Hershey bar, and somewhere under that mountain of diabetes, an Oreo milkshake that was--by the time we got there--warm enough to qualify as soup. It was more of an experience than a dessert. Would I order it again? No. But am I glad I did it once? Like running a half-marathon. Absolutely (BTW, half a marathon is enough if you do a whole one you are just showing off. We've loved Elm Street diner for years now and go annually with friends. For this year's visit, we decided to check out their new location in Norwalk, which is even closer to us! The dining area is beautiful, and we were impressed with efficiency of the servers here. These creations take a lot of time to make it, but they do it quickly and well, turning tables around in a timely way. At one point during our visit, there was a pretty big line outside, but they did a good job of getting everyone seated pretty quickly. We loved their festive Christmas treats and decadent waffle tower as always, and the food was definitely consistent with the Stamford location. I loved the new brunch board that's exclusive to this location, and it's cool that they have a liquor license here! We'll probably be coming to this location more often than Stamford due to convenience, and we couldn't be happier! read more

This diner is extremely overhyped and honestly not worth it. It feels like the focus is more on making food that looks "Instagram worthy" than on actual taste or quality, especially considering how expensive everything is. The service was also very poor. We asked for ice water twice and never received it. One of the dishes ordered was pancakes, but syrup was never brought to the table. After our food arrived, we also had to ask for silverware, and we were never given napkins. To make things worse, our plates came out about 10 minutes apart, which made it difficult to eat together. I ordered the Elm Street Favorite omelet, which I expected to be packed with flavor given all the ingredients listed, but it may have been the most bland omelet I've ever had -- and it was $22. My wife ordered the blueberry cheesecake pancakes, but there were actually no blueberries in the pancakes themselves. Instead, they just placed blueberries on top and in between the pancakes. We trekked to go here because well it looked so amazing on Instagram. The food though is just diner food. Nothing is spectacularly delicious. It's everyday food at best. I would give it a 3 star on food. The portions seem huge but were that big. The "big"-ness is mostly fluffed by a large amount of carbs. What earned the 4th star was service. We lucked out. The table next to us was complaining about their server but ours really went out of the way to make us feel special. He explained what dishes would photo best and made us the biggest shake cake waffle birthday dessert. We trusted his recommendations which was the parm and it was the better of the dishes we got.
