Great selection of books - cleverly arranged to peak your interest but when several (ok 2) employees walk past you several times without even trying to make eye contact - and nobody asks if you are looking for anything in particular - but employees are more focused on setting displays and getting ready for an author who is arriving in a few days.... they were not outright rude but bordering on it -I felt like I was intruding - not what I expect from a small, local store. When they "buy" books from you, they give less than 10 cents for most of them. Then they throw away tons of books and CDs that they just bought from you without telling you. Only a small portion actually makes it to the shelf. Why don't they just tell the customers they won't buy them? Why would I want my things to be thrown away rather than go to a little free library to be read??? This seems like false advertising for a business that advertises being eco friendly and "saving" books. I loved them before I found this out and now I feel disturbed that they hide this from customers.

They might sell one quarter of these in the store and ship the rest to their warehouse or for recycling or use in other locations. I was given the great total of $16.11. It was really an insult. Many of these were coffee table size books, and books about things like aircraft, aircraft carriers, Titanic, architecture, history, music. Many originally cost over $40 and were like brand new. Don't expect much but at least they're recycling things for you if you're gonna throw them away anyway.

It has since been completely overhauled and renamed by Rediscovered Bookshop in downtown. As a children's book writer, I'm also an avid collector of children's picture books. Once and Future offers a great selection of gently used books at bargain prices. For example, I found a signed copy of Whoopi Goldberg's book Alice for an incredible bargain price of $6! (Granted, it's personalized "Thank You, Samantha!" in gold lettering, but I'm ok with that!) There are all sorts of nooks and crannies to discover treasures galore, plus lots of book-lover novelties such as bookends, stickers and buttons. Check this place out, I'm sure you'll love it!
