If u sign up with them u get an additional 20% off i believe. If its your first time they give you a 15 min introduction course on how to climb, the different rules as well as how to belay and how to use the auto belay. It was very informative, and helpful, afterwards your on ur own to climb. There were a lot of different climbing stations. Approximately 25 or so, with 5 auto belay areas, each one having about 2 or 3 routes, varying in difficulty, and depending on the color od the hand holds. Each one went up about 20-30 feet. Upstairs they also had a bouldering area as well with nice thick padding since there was no harnessing. We spent a good 2 hours here and it was fun. My forearms and fingers were screaming after. But the place is nicely maintained, clean and comfortable. They had central air running which made it nice. The employees were attentive and watching but not oppressive by any means. The equipment were sturdy. The hand holds werent sticky at all. Nor were they loose. They felt very firm. The cords all look well maintained. They weren't frayed or coming apart. This is a very well put together rock climbing place. Will be back again when im in the area.

I'm pretty sure you think archery is pretty damn cool and it's something you've always wanted to try. Hidden away in the basement level of Makati Cinema Square you will find Kondanda Archery Range, where you can do just that. Definitely a fun activity to do with friends or even a nice unique date idea if you are looking to try something new. You get an hour of as many arrows as you can shoot! They hook you up with the equipment (bow, arrow, target, arm guard, etc.) and an instructor to help you out with the basic techniques and stuff. Then they just let you fire away and have as much fun as you can! I've already gone like three times this year. It's become my go-to activity whenever relatives from abroad come over and I wanna take them out to do something fun!

The bows are dummy proof making it super easy to line up your arrow with appropriate markers. The instructor explained everything quite thoroughly and gave great advice for good stance and form. I was a bit confused on how many whistles meant what, but after a round or two you get the gist. It's a bit of a pain to have to keep re-racking your bow, but it makes sense as it's a safety issue. I will say that I think I got worse the longer we were there haha. After 30-40 minutes my arms also did cramp up a bit, but I'm terribly out of shape so that could just be me. My only gripe is that they kept playing slow jams which really doesn't jive with archery. It'd be cool if they played something more upbeat as if we were in an action movie or something. Then I could really get into character! In all I would definitely come back. Archery is really fun and it can get quite competitive making it a great date night or just something different to do with family or friends.

Grown up kids all excited to get suited up, it was the dorkiest I've felt in a long time. They said we only had 30 minutes inside and I felt a bit bad for paying so much money for just half and hour but when you're running in the dark with a laser gun strapped to your chest, it does get pretty tiring. So the end goal is to get as many hits to your opponent's target without getting hit yourself. Each vest is equipped with a sensor that you should aim at, when you're hit, your gun temporarily shuts down and you'd have to wait until it's turned on again. I was a girly girl growing up so you can imagine the struggle I had aiming at boys running at lighting speed. But it's all good fun and even if I finished last on several occasions, yes we've been here more than once, it's a great place to blow off steam and burn off a few calories.

This place gives you the opportunity to release stress, have fun and exercise at the same time. I got to experience Lazer Maxx with some officemates for a team building activity and it's been a very memorable experience. You will be divided into two teams and you each have a gun or what they call phasors. You will also wear a vest with sensors on it that your opponents will try to hit with their lazer and different points are given based on the location of the target that you hit. Sorry but no headshots here. They assign you a cool code name like Achilles or Perseus so you can keep track of your own score. Once everyone is ready then they release you in their arena. And then all hell breaks loose. I mean, you are in this dark arena with guys shooting lazers at you and you're trying to shoot back and you're trying to take cover while a comrade is asking for cover. The game is so frantic that the fifteen minute game play seemed like an hour for me. I exited the arena sweating and panting like I just ran a marathon. So yes, bring an extra shirt if you can. There are some things that I find interesting in this experience. For one, this is a game of wits. There are holes in hiding places that you can exploit to gain advantage over your opponent. It's fun to just go crazy and shoot at everything that moves but you'll just end up getting shot more by the other team. Strategies are needed. Plan the position of your team and make sure that someone covers your back at all times. On a side note, the game brings out hidden personalities and you get to see peolple for who they really are.The cute, prim and proper girl in the office is suddenly shooting wildly like a homicidal maniac who just drank a gallon of Red Bull. You also get a glimpse of who has a hidden angst against the boss, the one who has his target on your manager at the onset of the game. Or the one who keeps on "accidentally" hitting you even though you're on the same team. This is one of the most fun experience I've had. Your calves will be aching afterwards along with other muscles you didn't even know existed but it will definitely be worth it.

We had a lot of crazy memories here. Most notable would be one summer night when we got kicked out of my friend's house...after having a noisy marathon of Supernatural and pigging out on home-made tacos (gee, if I was the man of the house, I would've kick out the crazy kids outside my room too!) Anyway, we packed up our food, the huge grocery bag of chips and drinks and dips and headed off to--you guessed it--Ortigas Park! We actually looked like hobos having picnic outside the surrounding upscale foodplaces, which is kinda embarrassing, but not one of us gave a shizzle. And who would've thought having a picnic there is allowed? The guards patrolling the area were giving us weirded-out looks but not one told us to get the party out. Perhaps because we had our own trash bags? Hey, we love the environment! It was a funny night, until it rained, and we all have to move to Strata for shelter and eventually back to the condo. Ortigas park isn't just fun at evenings, though. I love staying there during mornings too! In my lonesome, I chill here with a sketchpad to brainstorm on new dresses. The daylight just brings out my spirit all the time, and if I'm feeling for some coffee, I will just hop right in Coffee Bean. I wish Ortigas Park will remain essentially the same, and not built-on, somehow. Because that would totally suck. It's one of the few parks that holds a dear place in my heart!

There's not that many people there, there's fewer trees, and the only establishments are the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf there, unless you wanna walk towards Ortigas Jr Road and their assortment of Fast Food Restaurants. But that's exactly why I love it. When it comes to parks, I like quiet ones. Ones with fewer people, where I could sit with some coffee and listen to some music. And that's exactly why Ortigas Park is probably the park for me. I absolutely love looking at the waterfall, the ambiance of the wooden benches, and basically how completely quiet the place is during the night time. It's also a really solid study/work spot for me. I've written 3000 words on one of those Coffee Bean tables before. If you like quieter places, then I suggest Ortigas Park!

Here in Manila, a place like that is quite unique. Gandiva as an archery place is both exciting and scary. Holding up your bow and arrow doesn't make you feel as "astig" or "angas" as you thought it would. It was downright nerve-wracking. Gandiva's helpful staff and trainers teach you the basics though. And when you think you've got it downpat like Legolas and Katniss Everdeen, they let you "play" on your own. When you find yourself famished (which I am 1000% sure you will), you can visit their adjoining vegetarian cafe. I got to try their truffle fries and Margherita pizza. To be quite honest, the truffle fries were a bit too oily for me. Plus, nothing can ever replace potato in my life! The pizza was good though. The crust wasn't too thin and the flavors were spot on. I like my tomato sauces sour, and this one hit the jackpot! Overall, Gandiva is something you should check out even just for the novelty of it! And hey, it's a good alternative to hanging out in the mall!
