Personally, I prefer the grilled one, but the corn was delicious and Don Paco is a great choice in Oaxaca. Unlike the starchier corn used elsewhere, this was definitely sweet corn. It is bathed with mayonnaise, queso fresco, chili powder, chili sauce, tajin and lime. It was a delicious snack that was not too, too heavy. Delicious! Beware, there is ALWAYS a line.

When we got there there was a line of people who hadn't yet ordered and others who were waiting for their food. Someone walked up to us asking for our order. Then we waited as they cooked everything in front of us and handing them to patrons. We got the chile relleno ($30 MXN) and mushroom tacos ($30). We liked the chile relleno one more as it was cheesy. Both tacos were a little oily but they were good. There were some salsa stations on the side for extra flavor. There was nowhere to sit so people either ate standing or took their food to go. This stall was authentic and the food was inexpensive. This was street food at its core.

The 1st & only time we had them, we waited for over 30 min for our food, they kept mixing up our order which was pretty simple(4 chorizo & 4 costilla), anyway maybe it was bad luck as we weren't the only people unhappy about their food. The taste I do believe it was average and the service, well I would recommend try them for yourself, like I said maybe it was just a bad day. I will try them again and hopefully I'll change my mind & my review.

Maybe they were good when they started, but since they became so famous they seriously went downhill. The last time I visited was when my husband came the 1st time, he loves Mexican food, but we both thought they were average, they even charged extra for quesillo, the tasajo was a bit hard to chew and the chorizo looked undercooked. Besides they're a bit on the expensive side considering it's a street stall, service is slow and the people working there weren't very friendly.

They do three kinds of tamales: mole, verde and rojo, and champurrado. I got two tamales de mole, used to the wimpy tamales in the states. Whoa, these babies are freakin huge. I was so full after one. And the mole was complex and rich and sweet and savory all at the same time. Duh, it's Oaxaca. The grandmas know what's up.
