Everything was set up for us, the class was fun, entertaining and educational on Italian food. HIGHLY recommend the class, but also having a meal here instead. You will not regret it.

They took an old farmhouse and turned it into a restaurant and cooking school. We were a group of 8, all of the other attendees much younger than my mother and I but they were an enjoyable group. We started with Alessandro giving us an overview of the history and a tour of the vegetable gardens. To begin the cooking classes each pair was given a bottle of the wine they make which was absolutely delicious (this is the land of Brunello wines.) We made 2 types of pasta, one with flour and water and one with eggs and flour. Alessandro took us through the process of making the dough and while the dough was resting we moved on to making dessert! We made traditional tiramisu in individual tea cups which we then got to decorate with hazelnuts and fresh flowers. After the tiramisu we made a pork loin dish with pancetta and nuts and then shaped and filled our pasta dough. We sat outside under the pergola while the food we made was cooked and then we devoured it family style. Marco made sure that we took the leftovers back with us. I've taken a lot of cooking classes and this was probably the most enjoyable one I've done. If you find yourself in Tuscany or western Umbria this would be one of the highlights of your trip.
