She assisted with choosing the designs I was looking for, what details I did and did not want on my garments, and what colors to choose from. She was kind. She was personable. She listened. She gave me her thoughts and opinions on what she thought worked with the items I had. I would highly recommend Embroider the Occasion. I had a wonderful experience from start to finish. When I dropped off the robe I wanted to have embroidered, they were very patient and showed me manyyy difference font and thread options. My item was ready within the two weeks they quoted me, and the price was very reasonable. I also ended up buying some sweet pop up and touch/feel books for my nephews while in the shop. This shop is awesome! It's my "go to" place for the baby gifts that I seem to buy every month for friends, colleagues, etc. Everyone is having babies and thank goodness for Embroider the Occasion, which has super cute gifts for them. The amount of gifts they have in this small store is amazing. They have a huge amount of baby gifts and a lot of stuff for older kids and adults too, though all I've ever bought was the baby stuff. The coolest thing about the store is that everything you buy includes the embroidery and a BEAUTIFUL job of gift wrapping if you so desire. I often get a baby blanket, bib and/or onesie. Lots of colors and options. The people who work there are super nice, often times rushing my order so it's ready when I need it because I procrastinated. I love supporting this little local shop. I came here to place an order over the phone and the service was disgraceful. When I came to the store to place my order, the owner was extremely micro-aggressive towards me and mocked my name. After very briefly talking to her, she pushed me aside and wanted me to receive service from another teenage worker. My item did turn out well, however, but I do not think I will come back soon. read more

I was so excited to pick up my order yesterday but ended up so disappointed and unhappy with the embroidery job they did for me on a baby gift. I picked it up about 30 min to closing time and they seemed in a rush to show me the finished product. I looked at the name and confirmed that it was in the script and color that I had chosen but wasn't able to examine the entire thing before the woman put it back in the bag. Now I know why. The name was totally off center of the fabric square it was applied to and looks terrible. I can't believe they would actually try to pass this off as good quality. Unfortunately, I am considering not giving it to the mother to be as I am so embarrassed to give this gift as it looks. My recommendation is to never do business with this place. There are other embroidery places out there to choose from. read more

Great embroidery, poor customer service. I was visiting St. Louis and brought my physician lab coat to this store in order to get my name and department embroidered over the pocket. I explained when dropping the coat off that I did not want a comma after my name or punctuation between the M and D. I picked up the coat, paid for it, and went out to the car to drive home. Then, I noticed the coat had a comma after my name after I had specifically asked for there to be no punctuation. Quite honestly, the comma wasn't a big deal, but I figured that it would be reasonable to tell them since it was an error. I met with a woman at the front desk who said, "The way it was done is grammatically correct. We have done over a 100 physician coats and you are the first person to ever ask for there not to be a comma." I was completely astonished at this incredibly rude comment. First, I am the customer. Second, during my years of medical school and residency, I have most definitely seen more lab coats than she has and plenty of people do not have a comma. The disdain in her voice when speaking to me was palpable, as if this were my fault. She gave me a coupon for the total price of the embroidery to be used for my next purchase. There will be no second purchase. read more

I have never been treated so rude in a local Webster groves business! I stood in line with my merchandise, they saw me and nothing. For about 3 minutes I stood there while they owner chatted with a customer who had already pick her merchandise and paid! She finally look at me and asked, not nicely, if she could help me!!! I should her my selected merchandise and said " you'll have to wait!!" After another 2 minutes I put down my things and left!!! Why shop here when there is another embroidery shop on Gore and the women there are always sweet and helpful!! Will not shop at this this place!!! read more

This store used to do beautiful work. In fact, Pottery Barn Kids used to recommend them. I've been going there for over 4 years and have had dozens of items embroidered. But, over the past year or so, the quality of their work has deteriorated. I had an Easter basket liner that was embroidered and the name looked very messy--the threads didn't meet to make a neat edge, so that the edge looked more zig-zag. They agreed to reimburse me and do it over with a new liner a year later and I still had problems. In fact, 4 other items in my order had problems. Again, the threads didn't meet to make a neat, clean-looking edge and I had some "bloops" outside of the embroidery letters (some "extra" thread that was sewn on the garment that wasn't part of the letter). So, it is a beautiful shop with beautiful items, but I can't trust the quality of their work now. read more

I love shopping at Embroider the Occasion. I've been going there for years whenever I need that special, personalized gift. It's absolutely my 'go to' store for baby and home gifts. The staff is always very helpful and extremely patient when helping me find just the right font for the embroidered name or monogram. I also really appreciate that they offer suggestions on thread colors for the embroidery. I think their costs are much more reasonable compared to similar shops I've visited before. read more
