Let me start off by saying Janet is absolutely amazing and such a gifted professional myofascial…read morerelease therapist! I live in Atlanta, but have vacationed in Florida along 30a for many years. I first met Janet in September 2013 while on a vacation with my husband. I had been plagued with some serious health issues and extreme unexplained pain, all stemming from a virus I had caught earlier that year. I was on a regular schedule of seeing physical therapists and massage therapists in Atlanta and wanted to continue some treatment while on vacation. Caring Touch Therapy came up in a search and thought I'd give one appointment a try and see how it went, but ended up making several more appointments over the week because I started noticing a difference in how my body felt! I had such a good experience after a few visits in September that I booked a special trip in February just to go down and work with her for a longer period of time. Since my issues were pretty intense, we discussed a treatment plan and decided to have an appointment daily for about a 1 1/2 weeks, then took a 1 1/2 week break, then followed up with several more appointments before I left. I wish I could have a treatment everyday throughout the month I was there, but like a great professional, she already had plans to attend more classes and training out of state. Just to give you a little background on where I was... I was a healthy, athletic, professional when I caught this unexplained virus, which set off a series of terrible health issues. Extreme fatigue and weakness, constant flu like symptoms, extreme pain in lower back / SI joint / tailbone, numbness, extreme muscle spasticity all over my entire body (insane tightness, pain, jumpy, weak muscles), and just overall a very sick body. The doctors main hypothesis was MS, along with all kinds of other ideas. Each test, medicine, treatment they recommended just led to more tests, medicines, treatments. It was a never ending cycle of no one really knowing what was going on. Very frustrating! And I just felt like the "normal" doctors had no answers. So, I was really open to trying any kind of new treatment I could get my hands on! That's where Janet comes in. She has a professional, very welcoming and calming entry and therapy room out of her personal home. She took the time to really understand my background of health and all that I was currently going through before we began. She also was very interested in evaluating what I was experiencing / feeling before and after each treatment. Her approach is unlike anything I've had before, but sort of a combination of many therapies. Light physical therapy, fascia stretching, massage therapy, making sure the body is aligned, etc. It's a very intuitive, gentle type of approach to healing with a super strong impact. I felt so much better after a few visits I couldn't believe it. Part of the myofascial approach is teaching one how to listen to one's own body and promote healing within. She was very encouraging, well versed in her craft and how the body works, along with educating me on anything that would benefit my health. She also sent me home with some stretching exercises and ways for me to continue therapy at home. My experience working with her was top notch, very educational, and productive in starting me on my journey back to good health. I had more positive results working with her in that short amount of time than I did working with physical therapists for months and months! I became very aware of the body's fascia system and how important it is in our overall health and healing. The more I've learned about it, the more a believer I am in how important it is and stretching and releasing it is part of my everyday routine now. I highly recommend working with Janet, or at least other myofascial release therapists if you can't down to that area! I noticed the most results with multiple visits in a row, each day improving more and more. However, my husband and my mother each went to her for one treatment and noticed a difference as well. The only downside is I wished I lived closer so I work with her as often as I could! Thank you Janet for your help and wisdom. It has had a great impact on me and my health and I am so very grateful! I will definitely be back.

From the owner: Caring For You since 1994!…read more Specializing in Myofascial Release (MFR), an excellent therapy for pain relief and stress. Fascia is a continuous web of connective tissue which has an effect on every aspect of the optimal function of the body/mind. This effective medical massage therapy works deeper than deep tissue massage without being aggressive. By skillfully engaging the fascia and waiting the appropriate amount of time, the viscosity of the fibrils of the connective tissue actually change to a more fluid state. This process can take the compressing force of the fascia off of pain sensitive areas allowing pain relief and an increase of range of motion to transpire. John F. Barnes' Myofascial Release therapy can treat back & neck pain, headaches, jaw pain, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel, recovery from injuries, and most women's health issues among others. Please call me for a free telephone consultation to see how MFR could help you. "Of all of the modalities I've studied since 1993, I have found MFR to be the most effectual therapy." Certified in Neuromuscular Therapy and a Reiki Master Teacher, Janet has 26 yrs. experience as a FL licensed massage therapist (MA17333), is Nationally Board Certified (NCBTMB #002226-00) and is an Equine Myofascial release therapist.
