I have been here a few time before and definitely thought I had already written a review, but I guess not. I have been here two times in the last week and lemme tell ya.. this is quite the spot. I do suggest making a reservation because everytime I go here it is popping! What a vibey place, the lights aren't too bright, it gives a hip, fun, light energy and is not too pretentious but has INCREDIBLE FOOD AND DRINKS. Right now, one of their specials is whitefish toast.. if you enjoy fish at all, you need this. The fish is light and fresh, they put fresh dill on top and it is placed on top of some toasted sourdough bread perfectly. The fish is flavorful, a lil earthy and I feel as if there are capers or olives in in the fish mixture, whatever it is is fire! The burrata, beets, and citrus is a nice lovely, fresh, light app, the burrata is perfection with the beets and fresh, juicy citrus, drizzled with some oil and random pieces of garlic mixed in, YUM. I suggest ordering bread on the side with this one! The wings here are a staple and always delish. Crispy, hot, and coated perfectly in a light sweet chili sauce.. they hit the spot everytime. The housemade ranch is a perfect dipper. The other day I tried the chorizo and scallops... oh my goodness gracious.. it was a lil spicy and creamy with the bean puree and the scallops were buttery, light and divine! 10 outta 10 would do again. Finally, got the goat cheesecake, gluten free ginger snap crust with poached pears. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I want this now and in every lifetime! LOVE! Beautiful space, kind staff, incredible cocktails! Came to Emerald Lounge for the first time with a friend for a cocktail before dinner. Parking was easy enough to find on the street. We weren't able to find a reservation online, but had no problem walking in on a Saturday evening. We were able to grab a standing spot at the bar. The host asked us a bit later if we'd like to sit down at some bar seats that opened up, which was very kind! I ordered the martini du jour and am obsessed. We also ordered an Old Fashioned. No complaints, it was done very well. For food, we ordered the Chicken and Risotto and the Rigatoni. I loved the Risotto, creamy and full of flavor. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Also, the portion size was perfect. The Rigatoni was very good. The chorizo was chopped very small so you get subtle morsels of flavor. We finished with the Mexican Hot Chocolate Cake for dessert. Sweet, rich, spicy flavor with a toasted marshmallow on top. Emerald Lounge has a great Happy Hour. This place is a gem if you live in St.Paul area this is a must. Its a neighborhood place, which is always a gem, its cozy yet warm. The menu is minimal but what we had was amazing. We started off with the Fall Burata which was incredible. That could be a meal in itself. I had the Shrimp and Grits, the grits were polenta but they were flavorful and the shrimp was excellent. I would get this again. My friend had the Rigatoni which he lived. We both ordered desserts. We both had crème brûlée. They were excellent. Very cute place! It is tiny inside but definitely worth the wait, so put your name on the waitlist. I was told it is the same family that owned the coffeeshop next door, Claddagh. They use the same kitchen. We had 6 people total and we sat in the back. We all ordered the same rose drink and it was refreshing, then we later ordered our own drinks. I got my old fashioned, and it was good. I had mussels and the broth was tasty, I ended up taking the leftovers home. Our server was very cool and nice. Service was great! I highly recommend. I really nice gem speakeasy vibe type bar. I love the decor and ambience and small plates. They also own the coffee shop next door which is an awesome spot too. The service was good; staff was inviting from the moment we go there. The prices are about the median rate ($15-18) per drink and roughly the same for the appetizers. The parking is decent as west 7th street is a long big street; you can utilize parking on the side streets. Definitely should be considered on the saint paul side for a date night. I love coming to Emerald Lounge. Ambiance is 10/10. I really enjoyed both cocktails I got (Anne with an "e" and Orange Crush). I so appreciated GF being marked on the menu. What a great spot! My husband and I were early for a dinner reservation nearby, so we stopped in for a drink. The interior is dark and cozy, and staff were just lovely. This newish cocktail lounge will now be at top of my list for happy hours and casual evenings out. it's not a big spot but they pack a lot in. the Decor is a combination of lounge seating and tabletops. Even though the space is tight it never felt to loud. The cocktail menu was fun. The old fashioned was excellent. I tried the Peach punch (not the actual name) and that was too sweet for me. I told my dining companion that it just had too many flavors and could not decide what it wanted to be. the huntress was also excellent. Small but well curated menu. I enjoyed the mussels - flavorful broth and the mushrooms were an excellent addition. I was disappointed they were out of the vegan ravioli and even more disappointed to hear it was coming off the menu. The good news is they will have a rotating vegan item- next up is Chowder. Seems odd, esp for summer but I will withhold judgement until I try it. My companion ordered the salmon spread which was good. The chips and dip were fine. In general, we loved this place and will be back. The service was a little disappointing. I know there is a labor shortage everywhere but our server really ignored us too much. We were out of water often and he never checked in on our meals. The hostess was helpful so I won't downgrade my rating based on the service. It was my first visit to the Emerald Lounge and I definitely plan on coming back. Super cute place attached to Claddagh coffee (which I also adore). Definitely smaller so expect some sort of wait, but staff was so accommodating during this and our party of 4 only had to wait 30 minutes or so on a Friday night for our table. Would definitely be easier to go with an even smaller group like a party of 2. This place is super cozy with rustic decor and furniture that makes it feel like a cozy upscale hideaway. Staff was all really great so want to give them a shoutout. I started with the Spiced Pear Fröcc, which was definitely very fragrant in terms of spices, but kind of tasted like a spiced sangria. I got to have tastes of the Pretty in Peach and Anne with an "e" due to my friends ordering these and I really loved the Pretty in Peach and would definitely get this in the future. I ended the night with the Claddagh Coffee Drink (under the lower abv section of the menu), and it was absolutely delicious. I would get it again in a heartbeat. For food our group split the chips and dips and the gravlax crostini. Both of these hit the spot and I would recommend. I wasn't sure if I would like the crostini, as it sounded like it had some strong flavors, but it wasn't overpowering at all, and tasted refreshing. My friends got the Bucatini and the vegan special (tofu dumplings for the night), and both spoke highly of these. Overall, I really look forward to visiting at a different time of year as well to see how their menu changes. What a fun place! read more

Emerald Lounge has been on my list of places for quite a while. Parking is street parking. I parked around the corner and walked just over 1/2 a block. They have a few seats out front for "patio seating." The inside was small and almost had a speakeasy type vibe to it. They do not take reservations. It was first come first serve and we arrived around 6pm. Luckily, they were able to push some tables together for our group of six. I think with how small the space is - it might be harder for them to accommodate a bigger party. The menu is small and unique. I started off with Green Lotus Grogg made w/ three Rums, lime, honey- passionfruit syrup, bitters over crushed ice. This was a solid drink, and I would order it again. Brussels Sprouts - I do love some Brussel sprouts, so I had to have these. They are roasted in curry oil, coconut yogurt, golden raisin gastrique, crispy shallot, & herb. Loved these! PEI Mussels - These were my favorite item of the evening. So flavorful! Mussels in spicy tomato fennel broth, white wine, butter, & served with a warm baguette. Dropkick Wings - When with a WingMN - you must get wings! Drummies & flats infused w/ Coca-Cola sesame wings w/ emerald sauce and Crudités Chicken and Risotto - marinated airline breast, lemon tarragon risotto, on kale. This was my entrée for the evening. I finished with the La Petite Mort - orange Aperitivo, cava, soda, absinthe. This is on a lower abv menu which I thought was really nice. This is a place I would visit again! read more

You really feel transported into a different era when walking into in this classy, loungy space. The atmosphere is wonderful. It feels like a luxurious yet cozy living room. Get there early!! It fills up fast. Going here gives you a good excuse to put on the dangly earrings and nice jeans. The patrons were dressed nicely- what I would call elevated casual. The drinks and small bites were a-ok. They have several unique cocktails and an interesting wine list. A perfectly sized menu with not too much to choose from and a wide variety of options that seem to pair well with the various drinks. We had the mussels. Wishing this dish was a tad more flavorful and spicy to highlight the Thai influence, but it was tasty nonetheless. This was a great place for pre-dinner drinks and apps. read more

My favorite place to grab drinks and dinner in St. Paul! It's a small, intimate space. We were able to grab spots at the bar after a 15 minute wait (during which we waited near the entrance with drinks). The cocktails are thoughtfully crafted and put together. Food was just as good. I tried the bucatini and sausage and the beef mandu - would recommend both! The hostess and bartenders are super friendly. As others have noted, it is definitely a more elevated setting. I had heard amazing things about this restaurant from my sister, but when we went together most recently, we were pretty disappointed overall. The inside is very cute, but also very small, so beware if you have a large group or don't do well in small spaces. It may also be difficult to get a table during normal dinner times on weekend so plan ahead or try to get there early! We started with cocktails which were all very good and a typical price for a more upscale place. My favorite was one of their specials that tasted like an orange dreamsicle! The real disappointment came with the food. We got a Brussels sprout dish which was absolutely terrible. They brussels were undercooked and extremely bitter. And it was super pricey for the portion size and quality. We also got a pasta dish that had mushrooms and cheese. It was unfortunately nothing special, and once again felt overpriced. Finally we got the shrimp and grits with spicy sausage. There were probably only 4 shrimp in the entire dish which felt like a rip off, and the sausage was way too salty. I'm sad because I was really looking forward to eating here but the food experience was just so underwhelming. Their menu rotates often, so I'd be willing to come back again (at least for cocktails), but can't say the experience makes me motivated to go back soon. read more

I love the spot. It is a Downtown St. Paul area and it has a nice patio and it's really cute on the inside, very good ambience. There is some street parking but it is a little limited. I believe they do walkins so don't expect to make a reservation. I thought the food dishes were great, especially the goat cheese pasta and mussels but the drinks were even better. This is a great cocktail lounge spot if you're looking to go somewhere before going out in downtown Saint Paul or if you're just looking for a cozy cocktail during the week. read more
