I followed the prompt it gave me when I called, and it went exactly how it said it would. They got me in the same week as a new patient, handled my cleaning, and fixed my permanent retainer all in one visit. I'm very particular about quality of service and my teeth in general, and it showed right away that the entire staff took the time to review my information and make the experience feel personal, not rushed or pressed for upsells. It was an incredibly warm experience. Customer service was excellent. The team was efficient, took care of everything I needed, and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. Extra star for having chapstick on hand. My lips usually dry out fast during appointments, so that small detail was the icing on the cake. From the super helpful, patient and friendly front office staff, to the amazing dental hygienists and Dr. Todd, it was just a great experience . What stood out to me was that nothing was rushed, I never felt rushed , Dr. Todd took his time, Katrina (I hope I got her name right) took her time with a thorough cleaning and good conversation, and yet at the same time it was efficient and I never waited for anything or for the next person to arrive to assist me, They all knew my name , warmly handed me off between Dr. and hygenists.. it's a big office with many patients , but I never once felt that. It felt like a personalized experience . I felt like I was the only person there. I also have a lot of dental anxiety and everyone was so careful and sweet and conscientious about this . Finding a new dentist can be a challenge, especially after moving to a new area or when your previous dentist sells their practice. Fortunately, Emigh Dental Care has made that process easy for me. With three outstanding dentists, supported by a great office staff, dental assistants, and hygienists, I've received the highest level of care here and couldn't be more grateful. Although Emigh Dental Care is out-of-network for my Delta Dental PPO, which means I pay upfront and get reimbursed later, the care my family and I have received is well worth the additional cost. This is hands down the best dental practice we've ever been to. Dr. Todd Emigh Dr. Todd was the first dentist I saw, and I now consider him my primary dentist. He's fantastic--friendly, easy to talk to, and great at explaining things in a way that puts you at ease. He is also highly skilled at diagnosing and treating both simple and complex dental issues. On multiple occasions, CSULB students interested in dentistry have--with my permission--observed my appointments, and I've seen firsthand how Dr. Todd is a natural teacher. Before and after the appointments, he took time to answer the students' questions and explain the procedures, which was impressive to watch. Dr. Pat Emigh Earlier this year, I met with Dr. Pat for a tooth that was causing pain and gum inflammation. While his personality is more direct and to the point compared to his brother Todd, he's equally skilled and precise in his care. He recommended I see a root canal specialist, and I initially chose a different one. After a less-than-ideal experience with the specialist I selected, I returned to the one Dr. Pat had recommended, and the consultation and procedure went perfectly, just as he had predicted. Dr. Wong Dr. Wong has been equally wonderful. I saw her for follow-up care related to the root canal recommended by Dr. Pat. She is friendly, thorough, and very detailed in her work. Like Dr. Todd and Dr. Pat, she is highly skilled and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. Although I've made a strong connection with Dr. Todd and prefer to see him regularly, I'm confident that all three dentists--Dr. Pat and Dr. Wong included--provide exceptional care. If Dr. Todd isn't available, I would have no hesitation in seeing either of them again. Dental Hygienist - Katrina I also have to give a special shout-out to Katrina, the fantastic dental hygienist I see for my regular 6-month cleanings. She's thorough yet gentle, making the cleaning process smooth and comfortable. Plus, Katrina's friendly personality and knack for sharing funny and interesting stories always make the time fly by. Thanks to her, my cleanings are not just painless, but actually enjoyable. The office itself is modern, clean, and equipped with the latest technology. It's clear that they prioritize staying up-to-date with the newest procedures, techniques, and tools in the field of dentistry. While it can be more costly for us to receive care at an out-of-network provider, the quality of service and care we've experienced at Emigh Dental Care has been worth every penny. It's hard to find a good dentist, perhaps even harder than finding a good mechanic. But everything is easy if you come to Emigh Dental. Dr. Pat and Dr. Todd have both taken care of me and my son, and every visit reminds me of the qualities of a caring dentist. Dr. Pat doesn't just treat my teeth, he treats me as a patient who just happens to have teeth. He carefully explains what he's doing so I am always in the loop throughout the visit, and he counts down when administering the local anesthetics so I know exactly what to expect when the injection is over. He takes the time to give me breaks to my gaping jaw so the experience is as comfortable as possible, even if it means the process takes longer. I used to go here for my dental care and it appears that after their father retired things shifted. They would no longer accept my insurance and would contact my insurance company for reimbursement, which was always a mess. I was offered to use an insurance company through them. It also appears that they have a lot of dental assistants that would continually make one mistake after another. I made an appointment to get newer dental guard and it took four different appointments to get it done somewhat correctly. This place is a total scam. My two kids had an appointment for a routine check and cleaning. During the visit they checked our insurance information, and after some initial confusion the front desk told us it was fine, so we completed the visit. Much later, they reached out with a bill of more than $600 and told us that oops, sorry, the dental insurance we had didn't cover their specific practice. I just got off the call with a representative who had the nerve to tell me the $600+ amount was in fact discounted with a first time customer rebate, so it could have been worse. They insisted that although they messed up and gave me the wrong information during the time of the visit, they still expect me to pay the full uninsured amount. That's a complete bait and switch scam. I've had dental insurance through many employers and providers over the years, and never experienced any issues like this. read more

My mom used to work here so Dr. Bob and a lot of the staff have known me my whole life. :) Everyone is so friendly when you come in. It is a lovely, upgraded office. I always have my teeth cleaned by Andrea as does my husband and both of my parents. I always see Dr. Pat when I come in for my cleanings/bi-annual check up. After having the same dentist for 20 years it was difficult to try a new place. I had no choice since my dentist retired. I turned to Yelp to see my local options. Emigh Dental Care popped up with a ton of great reviews and was part of my dental plan. Win win! I did have to wait for several months due to the COVID19 delays but and am so happy I waited. The week before my appointment I was emailed forms to fill out and bring to my first visit. The day before my appointment I was given a COVID 19 questionnaire by text to a web site. I was happy that underground parking was available. When I arrived in the office I was greeted by friendly office staff behind a safety barrier. I was promptly requested to use the hand sanitizer before filling out a second verification form for COVID19. They supplied sanitized pens and a place to put the used pens. The office reception area was also set up for social distancing and the use of masks was strictly enforced. I was surprised when I was called promptly. I have grown accustomed to waiting so this was a refreshing treat. I was taken by my hygienist to her station. Jade was friendly and did a great job of explaining the COVID 19 safety protocols that are in place. She was gentle and thorough cleaning my teeth. I was so happy with the results and her attentiveness. Before moving to the next station, she gave me a choice of various toothpastes, a brush, and floss. I look forward to seeing her for my next cleaning. I was then taken to another area for my x-rays. I don't recall the two ladies' names, but they were just as sweet. After my x-rays, Dr. Reel came to meet me, review my x-rays and perform a final check of my teeth. Dr. Reel provided me a professional and beyond engaging experience. She's a gem. I made sure to book my next appointment on a day Dr. Reel will be there. Dr. Reel also advised me on my liner treatment since I am nearing the end. Even though I do not have Invisalign liners they carry she gave me pro tips. I am happy I can have my long-term retainers made here rather than having to rely on the mail order place I previously chose. I am so thrilled I found a one stop shop for my dental care. The staff is professional and friendly. The service I received from each person was exceptional. I enjoyed that every seat on the floor had a great view of the city. The office, stations, and restroom were very clean. The staff made every effort to offer me a safe visit and made me feel welcome as a new patient. I am looking forward to my next visit. I just can't get over my last visit with them that I'm honestly thinking about cancelling my cleaning next year. But first background: I started going here basically at the start of COVID- when places weren't shut down and masks weren't a thing yet, but you still had to be careful. I chose this place because of how high the Yelp reviews are and because of people's experiences. I moved out of state and it became unreasonable for me to keep up with preventative/maintenance with a dentist 6 hours away, and I was terrified to change from the dentist I've seen all my life to a new one. Especially because it's been a few years since I had dental carE. BUT..!The dentist I saw first was wonderful. I have nothing bad to say about her or her work. My cleaning tech was great too, absolutely 5 stars for her. (All I really needed was a few cavities filled, and a good cleaning, I take pretty good care of my teeth on my own, except the usual I should floss more.) I still went here during the COVID times for all of this, mind you, when they were open and adhering to all guidelines. It was never an issue. However... now, catching up on years of neglected maintenance, I got a night guard, cool. No issues. The next thing I asked about was Invisalign. The front desk informed me that could happen and be a thing done for my teeth and scheduled a consultation. THIS is where I'm still livid. When I arrived, their waiting room was full. I was wearing nice, new clean clothes and they had me STAND outside for 23 minutes. I kept track because I was so mad. They offered no chairs. I had to sit down and get my new clothes dirty because I had a procedure on my foot recently before and it hurt to stand. I made comments to the front desk, they said sorry but blew me off. They didn't care. I saw a new dentist, I don't have anything bad to say about him, but he didn't seem as "real" as my lady dentist. I really did vibe with him as much, but I was also still fuming mad about being left standing outside. But the consult with him was fine. When I finally go to the front desk to talk about pricing, they inform me this isn't covered by my insurance. WHY WOULDNT YOU TELL ME THAT BEFORE I WASTED AN HOUR OF MY TIME?! 1/3 of it miserable getting dirty stuck outside?! Don't you think you should have told me before scheduling a consult?! I wouldn't have done it. Thinking about cancelling my cleaning next year and finding a new dentist. I thought I could shake my last experience, but the waste of my time with a consult that wasn't needed and the front desk being so inconsiderate about my wait time is just too bad of a taste. read more

I have a lot of anxiety about dentists due to unethical and unnecessary orthodontia experiences as a child. It took me a long time to find a dental practice like this one where I feel so comfortable. Every single person here is kind and does excellent work. All of the hygienists are gentle and don't shame you. Dr Wong is the dentist we see most frequently and she is lovely. I have been recommending this office for years but now I come to the reason I took time to write this review. My son had a playground emergency and knocked out a permanent tooth. We immediately rushed to Emigh dental. Dr Pat put the tooth back in and during that day and all the subsequent visits has helped us through one of the scariest experiences. With my dental fears this was a nightmare scenario and having a trusted dentist and team to help us made a huge difference. I am forever grateful to Emigh Dental. Yes the insurance stuff is a bit funky but it is absolutely worth it for this level of care. read more

I have an initial consultation scheduled for tomorrow and they just sent a text message stating they are charging $20.00 for PPE due to covid. First of all, this is unethical billing. Billing a patient vs the insurance is due to the inability to collect from the carriers because there is no billing code for it. Second of all, the amount is extremely high! All of the cleaning supplies should be an existing cost. The only additional purchases they've had to make are buying face shields that cost $6. each and a thermometer that costs $50. so charging $20 from each patient, and each office visit is extremely high since they can reuse them. This is unethical and billing FRAUD. Very disappointed since I was originally told the consult was at no cost. read more

By far- best dental care I have ever experienced and I am old! Dr. Wong and staff are caring professionals who understood my concerns regarding a loose bridge I complained to my former dentist about for over 4 years which he ignored and I know it was impacting my health. Even after he sent me out for a root canal, it was still loose. I now have a real night guard vs a plastic one which had to be replaced every few years and dentist don't use. I grew up in Long Beach and wish my family had known about the Emigh family practice when I was a kid... it would have spared me decades of dental anxiety. I met with the kind, funny Dr. Reel and she put me at ease: she pointed out a cavity and a potential cavity missed by another dentist, reassured me that I would have the first say in my own treatment plan (no pushing unnecessary special cleanings or fluoride treatments here!), and in general is really down to earth. Plus, gentle massage chairs (!). Screens above the chairs so you can watch TV or look at your own X rays if you want. After going to the dentist for 30 years you kind of just get used to what they do. A good dentist is someone who just does the job, has a clean office, and runs their appointments on time. After my wife was having some contradicting advice we decided to try someone new (again) and decided on Emigh Dental based on the reviews. This is hands down the best dental group we both have every been to and we cannot wait to send our future kids here. I loved the bedside education and patient involvement. People actually explained what they were doing, what they were looking for, education on the good and bad of teeth care, the tools they were using, etc. Everyone was kind, approachable, and above all else knowledgeable. I've been going to Dr. Emigh since 1986. Dr. Bob has always been so kind and caring and always checked on me to make sure I was doing ok with the work he was doing. He understood how scared I was when I first came to him. He saved me from losing all of my teeth since I did not want to go to the dentist because of the horrible experiences I had with my childhood dentist. Tammy has been my hygienist for 30 years and I love seeing her every time I go. She has given me tips on how to keep my teeth clean and in perfect shape through my time with my braces and when my gums needed extra help due to my stress as well! The office staff is great. I cannot say enough about Dr. Robert Emigh, and the legacy that is now continuing by his son Pat and his talented grown children and their very efficient operational staff. I used to work at SCE in Long Beach and a working college referred me to Dr. Emigh, because it was close to my working location and have not left them since. I am now retired, live in the Whittier area, and continue to drive to Dr. Emigh's Office. I must confess, I have tried a cleaning here and there, may a total of two occasions, somewhere else, and as always, the outcome was the same! It was not the same and it made me miss my dentist office that much more. Although it may have been closer to my house, now I gladly drive the distance to get all my cleanings and routine exams. No one can fill Dr. Emigh's shoes, or his staff. I vowed, to never try another dental office again and I will only be treated by Dr. Emigh's office from this point forward. The highlight of their office of course is inspired by Dr. Robert Emigh, Dr. Pat, and Tammy, (my favorite hygienist) and let's not forget Elaine, our office support assistant. Although Covid-19 has put a damper on my regularly scheduled visits, however; with my 2nd vaccination upcoming I will be back on track. I didn't choose a new dentist for years after my lifelong dentist stopped practicing, I was so scared to go to one I didn't like and thought no one could be as good as my old dentist! I read lots of reviews and finally took the plunge with Emigh Dental and couldn't be happier! I've found my new forever dentist and have already referred my sister and niece here who were just as pleased as I was. I've seen all 3 dentists here, multiple hygienists, spoken to multiple ladies at the front and haven't met a person who wasn't extremely pleasant!!
