You order upon walking in on the bar and I ordered one of the pre-made bagel sandwiches with lox and avocado. It was really good but the downside was that my friend ordered the pancakes and those took a while to be ready, so by the time her food was ready mine was already gone. The pancakes come on a really neat presentation and surrounded by fresh berries and syrup. The coffee options are on point with all the expected espresso drinks (latte, cappuccino, etc) with the option to choose any plant based milk substitute. I had the coconut milk cappuccino and it was excellent. After ordering we were given the options to pay at that time or later. We chose to pay later, which was a bad decision because it meant we had to stand in line again when leaving, so if given the option, make sure to pay up front.

I was expecting fresh slices of homemade pastrami - nope! I get a couple slices of what looks like deli lunch meat and it was €9.50 for this! Dutch deli club sandwich - another disappointment! The chicken tasted so so dry and there was no flavor in the chicken. €12!! I wish I would've got a breakfast dish. Maybe next time. Seriously - An amazing wife and husband team Christine and Marcus, in a casual intimate setting with great humor, kindness and just an absolute pleasure to meet them our trip to Dusseldorf. As I usually do when traveling I left the menu up to the very capable Marcus and Christine, with one exception I needed a chartreuse platter ( had a craving), all other foods were left to them. Christine paired the wines and suggested some I had never had ( variety is the spice to life). An amazing 5 hour goose reduction bone broth with pappardelle pasta with the most tender non gamey goose meat with amazing flavor and richness- ( Marcus we know your secret ingredient) Then a risotto I can still taste as I write this review. Sausage, pine nuts and a truffles. The richness was just amazing and Marcus if I can suggest take that amazing broth you made for the goose and make that into a sauce for the risotto ( I had some mix on my plate and ...WOW) Still Hungry... Not really but had to try one more of dish on my last night and Marcus did not disappoint, a long grain Basmati rice with a beef/ butter/ tender crazy good curry dish. All gone and now the desserts, the wine pairing that Christine just knocked out of this world. Then meeting the older of the 2 sons helping shut down and clean up and getting a tour of this old pub that Christine and Marcus renovated 2 years ago. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!!!

The chef always changes the menu and writes it on the chalkboard so it's always a pleasant surprise to see what's on for the day.
