My photographer fried found Emily on a private Facebook page for photographers and I knew immediately after she sent me her narrowed down list of people that Emily was perfect! We "met" on FaceTime and discussed my wedding, what I envisioned and just chatted about pictures. She was warm, endearing, sweet, and had a smile on her face the whole time. Like seriously, if you have ever planned a wedding, meeting a vendor who makes you feel as though you are not their profit machine is not easy. I seriously thought wow, I could be this girls friend. So, I hired her. We kept in contact up to the wedding, I booked her for a wedding shoot prior to the actual event because my maid of honor could not attend and I wanted some pics with her in it, those are some of the photos below. Emily was exactly what I dreamed my photographer for my wedding would be... The energy she exudes made my husband and I feel so comfortable and at ease. Ok, so where do I even begin? The FIRST time I hired Emily was in December 2014. I had this idea that I would propose to my wife (then gf) somewhere in San Francisco. Didn't know how or where, I just had a general idea. I thought it would be even cooler to have a photographer capture the moment. But, I don't live anywhere near SF. (L.A. !). A quick perusing of Craigslist (yes, people use it for legitimate services too!) I found Emily. A few emails back and forth and we settled on Baker Beach near the Golden Gate Bridge. She and her assistant arrived early and even helped me when I accidentally passed them and missed our mark. I proposed , my wife said yes, and the big moment was made even more special with Emily's excellent photos. They were so good, in fact, that they ended up on "The Knot". Now, as a guy.. I have no idea what that means... But I've been assured by many that this is an honor. So, there's that! The SECOND time I hired Emily was July 2015 for our wedding at SF city hall. My wife had discovered Emily via Instragram and after perusing her professional website hired her for our February 2016 wedding. When my wife mentioned her name to a coworker, that coworker revealed to us that she had hired Emily as a photographer for a separate event and told us that she was fantastic. That coworker was correct - Emily was fantastic and absolutely captured the essence and loveliness of our wedding. Emily is a wonderful photographer with an excellent eye for detail and capturing the moment. For example, she made use of an old painting of a vase of flowers to accent wedding prep pictures of my wife. She was able to capture all of the seriousness (staged of course), laughs, smiles, hugs, craziness that came with our wedding that we will look back on with absolutely joy for the rest of our lives. In addition, she is extremely professional and friendly! During the wedding planning process she was always quick to respond and stay in touch. On wedding day she and her assistant (an add on for one of her photography packages) showed up early and were able to direct and organize what could be potential chaos for a photographer - bride and groom all over the place speaking with all different guests. Emily was able to get us organized so she could take awesome pictures of us, our wedding party and guests. She made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process. I could not be more pleased with my experience with Emily leading up to and during my 9/13/15 wedding at The Los Altos History Museum in Los Altos. Emily presents herself with incredible poise and is extremely professional, fun and kind! She also has the most adorable voice, which I loved to listen to throughout the day. She's so great! I loved her assertiveness to get mine and husband's large families in the right positions in order to get the best group shots during formal family picture time. We engaged Emily and her team for our wedding photos this past June in SF at the Bently Reserve. She was energetic, professional and had the patience to deal with a 20 person bridal party and a zillion family shots!! AWESOME BAY AREA PHOTOGRAPHER!!! Emily is the sweetest photographer I have ever met! Working with her was amazing! She did our engagement session at the sutro baths in San Francisco and they turned out beautiful! She also as photographed our wedding and I cannot wait to see those photos as I am sure they are breathtaking! We were able to provide her with a shot-list beforehand and she was able to capture all of the pictures we asked for! Emily was phenomenal from our very first phone conversation. I saw her website and fell in love with her pictures. When we spoke, I explained that she was out of my budget, and Emily so generously accommodated us with fewer hours and a payment plan so we could have pictures we loved. In the lead up to the wedding, Emily was easy to reach and professional. At the wedding, she was wonderful and every interaction with her put me at ease. She was always sweet and excited for us. We didnt have a traditional wedding-no bridal parties, no bouquet toss, no cake cutting, no church, etc. etc. so I wasnt sure exactly what our pictures would look like. Emily Jean was absolutely the best photographer!!! I would 100% recommend her. Her style, her friendliness, her ability to make us feel relaxed, and her quality of photos were top notch all the way. We found out about her at a bridal show in Berkeley and my fiance and I were really impressed both with her portfolio and her style of photography. A lot of her photos had a wonderful natural quality to them. She was booked for our wedding date, but we were able to get an engagement shoot with her. I was really impressed by her ability to capture wonderful moments in the engagement shoot. Neither I nor my fiance are super comfortable in front of cameras. We both just feel a little strange being the center of attention. Emily was simply the best at helping us feel relaxed and able to be natural in front of the camera.
