Rossetto Estevan Vetreria - Gorgeous Gokden Bull...easily weighs 4-5 lbs

Murano Glass...unparalleled quality, rich in tradition, generational mastery. If you are ever in…read moreVenice, have a look at the tourist shops but withhold buying anything until you make the short trip out to Murano Island. You can reach the island by the ferry, private water taxi or do as we did and take a no obligation water taxi excursion co-sponsored by the Splendid Venice Starhotel. After getting wowed by a master glass blower demonstrating his craftsmanship in the furnace our host Marci escorted us into their showroom where they had the most amazing display of museum quality glass art. I personally had not thought about buying any souvenirs of our trip to Italy and I've been to enough silk, pottery, jade, carpet and jewelry factories enough to know what to expect. Lo and behold, there were no high pressure sales tactics and I was encouraged to meander thru room after room of stunning glass sculptures, chandeliers and vases. As I rounded one corner very cognizant not to tip anything over like the proverbial "bull in a china shop" I couldn't believe seeing a glass sculpture of a Green Dragon. Our newest granddaughter was born in the Year of the Dragon so I had to inquire about it. Roberto explained that the Master got some of his ideas from a trip to the Far East. The dragon had amazing features down to the barbed tail and body scales. I confided that I would need an Ox or Bull to commemorate my first granddaughter who was born in the Year of the Ox. Roberto and Marco brought out a very impressive Golden Bull that would be a perfect complement to the Green Dragon. Roberto said he could commission customization but if I was interested in what was already in inventory he would work with me to get a better price. Not in any of my travels have I ever seen anything remotely as striking as these animal sculptures. They gave me a great reduced package price and threw in a gorgeous flowery candle holder for my wife's 70th birthday. The three items were shipped out via New Venice Shipping in coordination with FedExItaly and FedEx here in the US. The packages were shipped from the showroom on 9/19/24 and all arrived by 10/10/24 in spite of Hurricane Helene which wrecked havoc on the Memphis, Tennessee FedEx Regiional Center where our shipment first landed. After not getting any updates on the FedEx website, we feared the packages were lost in the storm and I reached out to Estevan Rossetto who promptly replied and initiated a package search. With the kind help of Lamia from Estevan Rossetto and Matteo from New Venice Shipping, I was assured the packages had cleared customs and still scheduled to be delivered. Sure enough, the packages arrived on subsequent days and the packaging was beyond impressive. Each item was separately wrapped, engulfed in a mountain of packing peanuts and boxed within an even sturdier shipping box. One could tell each piece was treated with love and respect. In addition to arriving in pristine condition, Roberto and Marco included Certificates of Authenticity and hand written education notes addressed to each granddaughter signed by the Master who created the sculptures. Believe me, these pieces will tell a story for generations after we're gone, they're that special. Personally the excursion out to Estevan Rossetto was the highlight of my Venezia visit and we couldn't be happier with our purchases. Yes this is a working glass factory and viable business but it's also a cooperative where several Masters only offer their art for sale. We found the sales staff to be genuine, caring, welcoming and low pressure. We were treated like guests in their family business and I would not hesitate to return there again someday. Don't let the handful of negative reviews dissuade you from visiting, there's probably thousands and thousands of ecstatic old and new owners of fine glass art pieces from Estevan Rossetto.

Shady sales tactics in the showroom. Made false statements to get higher prices. Then you sign a…read moreshipping statement that states non-refundable or cancellable, so you're stuck.
