Our services are at 9:20 and 11:00 every Sunday morning. Our pastor (Steve) focuses on giving a sermon that is both Biblical and practical. I always walk away with something to apply to my life right away. Our worship team is musically talented and focused on leading the congregation in worshiping Jesus. Disclosure: I sing as part of our worship team, as basically a backup singer, so yes, I am biased. We also have Long's Donuts and coffee every Sunday, so that's a huge plus. Even if you're not into church, I bet you're into donuts.

We really like the service - the worship music blends contemporary songs with older hymns and it feels very genuine. Some churches seem to put on a performance and while there is a band, you don't feel like you're at a rock concert. The teaching/preaching is rooted in solid Biblical values and the congregation appears welcoming and we were impressed they created a space during the pandemic that was socially distant and where you could wear a mask if you chose. We are looking forward to getting more involved ad we make this our church home.

They are appropriately named "Friendship" as they make you feel important and included the moment you walk through the doors. This church has a really great age range of people - so anyone can feel like they fit in. I really enjoy the sermons as they are interesting and applicable to everyday life even in today's day and age. The music is contemporary and the overall feel is modern. They have lots of social gatherings - often times just for fun and fellowship - beyond the standard bible study group. This is one church that just makes sense - and makes you feel great and energized about your faith as you leave. I cannot wait to grow in my faith with this great community of people.

The rec league softball team has made quite the bad reputation for this "church." The coach does apologize and seems quite embarrassed by this behavior, as some of his players even snicker during the prayer both teams gather for after the game. Elders at any congregation should be made aware of this. Many of us will discourage anyone we know from seeking truth or a place to worship from visiting this place.

At times when costs could be cut and were suggested, the primary pasture refused. Yet, financially has not struggled himself. However, the employees have (from reduced hours, fewer employees causing the load to go to others, and lowering pay), and now current members no longer have a church (while he's driving his beautiful Harley's). It's very sad to see! However, when you have numerous members share their concerns including pastures and it goes unheard, this sadly is what happens. Change must occur, if not, I do not see the Vineyard ever being financially stable with Jim's current salary. A word of advice from Dr. Chuck Betters The rule of thumb I have used for years in helping churches to understand what they should pay their pastor is this: A pastor should be paid on the same level as the average person in the congregation he serves.

They offer many services on any given Sunday and the music is always uplifting, professional and great overall. They have an array of musicians that are very talented. It's a middle of the road Christian non denominational church. A bonus that occurs during the two main Christian holidays during Christmas and Easter, is that they offer boatloads of services stretched out for several days. This accommodates and caters to the large influx of larger congregations. Or as I had once heard it amusingly described as : the invasion of the Chreasters. ;o) Properly pronounced : Cree-sters. :o) It's all good regardless! The message is a bit watered down, but that is to be expected for a catered message friendly / feel good - no pressure atmosphere. My oldest daughter, (in her 20's), once described it as : A church that provides a good start for 'baby Christians'. If you eventually graduate to needing a little more meat in the message, you will have to go elsewhere. The dress code is generally casual to very casual. I have seen some folks dressing up a little, but rarely do I see someone dressed to the nines. I like to dress up a little, because it's just the way I am and was raised. It reflects my traditional and conservative side, as well as my respect for the atmosphere. They have a very nice snack bar/cafe area with a vast and ample seating area. They also offer free coffee for all to enjoy. As a true and serious coffee drinker and/or connesuier, I can honestly say it's above decent in quality and taste. You can also take your beverage(s) into the sanctuary. I will admit on a personal note that this church served me very well during a tough and challenging time in my life. I seriously needed the extra moral and spiritual support, and I easily found it there. I met some really wonderful people there as a result of attending this church. A few of them were fellow parishioners, and I also met a few really awesome and extremely caring/sympathetic/empathetic pastors that really put their heart, head and soul into their work/profession; or as I see it - their genuine and righteous calling. This place or worship will always have a special place in my mind, heart and spirit.

When I finally paid this quaint church a visit, I quickly discovered that it is a very conservative church in many respects. The people I met there were very welcoming and friendly. The church adheres to, and follows a 'Sunday best' dress code. I rather enjoyed it, because I don't get an opportunity to dress up very much anymore, and liked donning and sporting my best apparel for a change. I always felt that dressing up a little does have a way of making one feel better about themselves as well. The pastor is very fervent and passionate in his delivery of the gospel. His - no bones about it - sermons are by far not boring and/or of a sleepy/yawning nature. He delivers the good word with expertise and precession. He knows the good book, and is more than eager and willing to share what he knows with his congregation. If I could respectfully use the descriptive words: entertaining, educational and highly enlightening, I think it really sums up how the experience feels overall. He has moved me (to happy and sad - bittersweet tears), on many occasions when discussing and sharing certain subject matter - biblical and real applicable life rendering matter. The music is a very good and is born of a traditional gospel and hymnal genre. They have a great sounding full choir and some instrumental/band performances/offerings. The children's choir is very sweet too. Occasionally they will have a talented featured vocalist sing at the pulpit ; singing basically a cappella. It's a charming church that I think everyone should try to experience at least once in their life. It's quite humbling to see what a traditional church experience feels like. I absolutely respect and appreciate it for what it is, and what it stands for.

As I've shared from several recent church experiences, I'm currently in the process of visiting…read moreCentral Indiana faith communities after having spent several years in a historic peace denomination yet feeling like certain aspects of my life, especially around my disability, were being neglected. The Creek is located not far from Franklin Central High School on the Southeast Side of Indy. While I'm not quite sure if it qualifies as a "mega-church," it's certainly larger than the usual churches that I attend and I'll confess to having been intimidated as I drove up to its rather enormous campus. I'd been referred to The Creek by friends who knew I desired a faith community where my disability would be accepted. As an aging adult with spina bifida, I've largely outlived most of my supports and I've been longing for a wider circle. The Creek has a strong ministry to persons with disabilities, though my experience is that it largely focuses on individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities - both adults and children. I contacted the Special Needs Director (for the record, I hate the phrase "special needs"). I wanted to get a feel for attitudes. She was quite friendly and responded twice to my inquiries and encouraged me to attend their 4:30pm class on Sundays. I intended to do that after our last e-mail exchange, but I ended up ill that Sunday and committed the next couple Sundays. So, it took me about a month to follow through. They offer high-tech, contemporary worship services only with programs for children, youth and those with disabilities among other populations. I shared with the director that I desired a community where I could both "be" disabled and share my gifts. As I get older, my body is more difficult to manage and I welcome the vulnerability that comes with people knowing who I am physically and emotionally on a more vulnerable level. However, many of the ways in which I'm gifted also still long to be expressed. The Creek has a form, kind of like an application, filled out on everyone it serves in their disability ministry to ensure an understanding of physical needs, behavioral supports, etc. I was impressed that it acknowledged physical disabilities. It's sometimes a little more difficult to serve those whose needs may be physical up to and including restroom needs. The Creek seems to have a large staff with an abundance of volunteers including both men and women, young and old including students from nearby University of Indianapolis. The parking lot is huge, there's quite a bit of accessible parking - it's not particularly well marked but it's present. The church is multi-level, but elevators are present. I wasn't sure where to find the disability ministry, called Access, but tried to enter through an outer door labeled "Access." It was locked. I'm assuming it's the volunteer entrance and they know how to, well, access it. I got a little frustrated, but decided I would just experience the worship anyway. If I like the worship, I'll pursue the disability ministry. Ironically, on my way out I think I figured it out. It's not real obvious which entrance to use, but I followed the crowds and figured it out. They have Information booths around and volunteers answer questions. I received a gift as a first-time visitor (a coffee mug, note pad, pen). I was pointed to the large sanctuary. It's auditorium style. The worship style is definitely contemporary. I've got no issues with contemporary worship - in fact, I'd dare say I prefer it. As a Sunday afternoon service, however, it felt very dry. The worship leader was trying hard to energize parishioners, but the rock n' rollish music kind of felt like that one-hit wonder band desperately trying for a second hit. Unfortunately, when that happens it often feels more like performance than worship. The pastor, Dr. Gary Johnson, started a new series largely centered around the Bible. He's their long-time pastor, but due to retire in April 2019. I liked his speaking style, though I found the message itself surprisingly negative and lacking in inspiration. The preaching is consistently Bible based; the theology stresses inerrancy and infallibility of the Bible and much of today's centered around society's increasing rejection of that. I found people friendly and helpful including one man who offered, and I accepted, to bring me communion where I was sitting toward the back. The Creek is a pretty good drive for me and I don't consider it likely that it's a place I would call home nor will I likely return to experience the disability ministry. However, for those seeking a large church, contemporary worship with a theology that stresses the inerrancy and infallibility of the Bible, The Creek has much to offer and certainly will embrace those in your family with disabilities. Be aware that the auditorium is at a slant; if you're on wheels, you may wheel ahead if your brakes aren't in good order.

Growing up in a Southern Baptist Church & then conversion into Catholicism, this local church made my family feel very welcome. This aspect I truly respect & adore. Challenging times are among each of us. Doing right by some may seem wrong to another for unbeknownst reasons. That's the human in all of us. Knowing that only God has the means to judge will help each of us every single day. This becomes a blessing then our own reward. Acceptance to all no matter what happened yesterday or the color of skin was not only seen but felt with much love. Loving your neighbor as this church showed IRL similar to my own Catholic Church practice, did bring much needed joy to my aunt & cousin. Attending a service with them brought so much happiness to my soul. I'm grateful for the message taught last Sunday. It certainly resonated with all three of us all week. Hopefully it will plant seeds for the rest of our family...perhaps yours too. What impressed me the most was the spacious place designed for the little ones. I love love love that part the most. There wasn't a high pressure stance to be "saved". Nor did it seem that you had to produce a monetary offering. Since this service was soon after the tornado that went through the town of Whiteland, attendees IMHO were graciously humbled. It's only an hour of your day to hear the gospel. To listen for a better tomorrow. If this isn't the flavor of worship for you, perhaps try another church. It might move you or you might learn a thing or two. Why not? Open your heart to fill the void. You might be pleasantly surprised in meeting a new friend. Thanking the staff/regulars here for making this transition for my family back into service I hope each week. The gift for me is seeing them in this opportunity to learn more about God through Christ. Though the blessed Virgin Mary, Christ was born, I still honor her & the teachings from Him. Grace with peace to you in all that you do each & every moment of every day. Life is a gift when we live with purpose in the present.
