To follow up, after a busy day, we had a 3pm yum cha at the Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant located in the Geelong CBD. What a delight! The kitchen was technically shut when we arrived, but the lovely staff were happy to keep it open for us. We lunched on the classics: ginger prawn dumplings, shark fin and scallop dumplings and vegetarian spring rolls cooked to crispy perfection. When Twosheds' eyes were bigger than what could be eaten, our lovely attentive staff member happily converted remaining food to take away. The surroundings here are fantastic too. We were the only people there and our table was small and cramped against the wall. We ordered an over-priced jug of soft drink when we sat down. She immediately turned around and reached for a small bar fridge with a clearly broken seal that was pushed into the corner of the room. A bottle of home brand orange was put on the table alongside two murky cups that could accurately define the colour 'nicotine'. I don't know why, but we ordered food. Fried rice, sweet & sour chicken and beef and black bean. All inedible. The rice was old, hard and tasteless. The chicken was overly rubbery and chewy. The beef and black bean was tar-like and far too strong. We tried it, it was disgusting, we didn't touch any more of it, we got up to leave and I explained it was inedible at the front counter. She didn't really care that we didn't drink or eat anything and tried to charge me just under $60.
