Our stylish lied to us. My grand daughter got her hair colored for a very costly price. Her stylist stated to the both of us that swimming shouldn't affect her color because we planned on going swimming a week after. Well lo and behold all of her color came out!! I was irate. Not only did he lie but he lied to both of our faces. Empire couldn't even give us a cut and offer any other services free of charge for their LYING!! I'd advise you not to go there for any type of service. They suck!! They lost us as customers and I hope they lose more. Pathetic!!! read more

I decided to get a gel manicure last Friday and getting an appointment scheduled at the last minute with M was easy to do. I told her the color I was looking for and she got exactly what I wanted. I was impressed by the professional attitude both ladies had when I brought my daughter in for a service. Both were outstanding! Extremely friendly and very helpful about each and every question we had. Becky and Porschia were amazing. Kudos to Becky also for going above and beyond for me as well as my other daughter who was along. Even though the process was long she found ways to keep the little one occupied and that wasn't even her client, my other daughter was. I called for a haircut and they got me in same day! Kaleah did my haircut and she was very patient and took her time. The instructor who came to check the cut after was super helpful and took very good care in adding some finishing touches to my layers and bangs and also did some texturing with the thinning shears to give my crown a little volume. I had another good experience there and will continue to go back for future haircuts. read more

I went to empire beauty school and I asked for a pixie haircut and I wanted short in the back like army/military short and the student shaved my whole head now this is an a/b student I am 53 years old and thos is the first time I have ever cried and was beyond mad with a haircut I have been wearing a hat to hide this experience and all this happened Aug 30th now I am scared to death to go to the hair salon and all they offered me was a $50 visa gift card for all my embarrassment and pain they don't understand that I have to look in the mirror and see this everyday so I would not recommend this to anyone this whole experience is like a slap in the face if I could get an attorney I would. read more

I have been getting my hair cut here for a few years now.  It's easy to get in for an appointment and they usually run on time.  Usually my appointment is 45 minutes to an hour.  Every now and then my appointment will take 90 minutes, so just be aware that is a potential issue and you'll want to plan your day accordingly.  Some of the people haven't quite got the hang of small talk while working so it can be a little awkward or totally silent, but it's nothing too strange.  I am happy with my hair each time and find that it's well worth the price. The facility is very clean and everyone is friendly.  When you first sit in the chair, they ask you what you want done to your hair and then an instructor comes over and talks to you and the student to confirm that's what you want done and quick go over how they plan to achieve that look.  After your haircut the instructor goes over your hair to make sure they did a good job, suggest any additional cuts the student should do and confirm you're happy with your hair. I would recommend knowing what you want when you go in as the students may not be comfortable giving you suggestions without something to go off of. read more

I went to Empire, because I knew changing my hair from red to blond would be time consuming and expensive. Going to a beauty school for the process not only allowed me to save a ton of money, but it allowed a student to gain a lot of experience. Teachers, yes, multiple teachers, were available for consultation and assistance, and worked with my stylist student to get the best result for the health of my hair. In the end, my 3 colorings and 1 bleaching cost $25! Yup, however, it took 5 hours. I went back to Empire about 2 weeks later for a hair cut and conditioning treatment. The hair cut wasn't what I wanted, but I love it. The conditioning treatment I could have done at home, but it was only $3. However, this visit took 2.5 hours, and that was with me hurrying the stylist. This is a great school for service, and you can't beat the price, but you need to know that you will be there a looooooong time. Check it their service menu and help out a future stylist! read more

Went in for a haircut, told the person at the desk that was what I wanted. Was assigned a hairdersser...she took me over to the sink and glopped a ton of shampoo on my scalp and then basically poked at my ead and rinsed all the while popping her gum. Went to her station wherre she told her instructor all I wanted was to trim the ends a little bit. I idn't cdorrect her because at this point I couldn't wait to leave. Again gum smacking and popping while she trimmed. The whole place seemed a bit dirty and falling apart. Cheap but I won't be going back. read more
