We called several electricians and were disappointed in all of them for one reason or another. Then we tried Jet. I said I wanted a quote for some electrical work and I explained the problem. Jethro said it's better if I come by and take a look. "No thanks. I'm not paying for any 'estimate trips' to the house," I told him. He said no problem. No charge... and I can stop by now if that' OK. Wow, how about that for service. So, he comes to the house, we talk about the job and he gives us several options on how to best do the work along with the price. That was Tuesday. On Thursday, he arrives at eight o'clock and starts work as agreed. We could see from the very beginning that Jethro takes a lot of pride in his work and does it with a smile. Very exacting, measuring everything as he goes, and he makes sure everything is perfect before he moves on to the next step. How many workmen do that today? Not many. He cleaned up everything as he worked and there was no mess when the job was finished. We can't remember the last time we were so satisfied and we actually gave him a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream and a bottle of liquor brought back from a vacation in Latvia to say "thank you for a job well done". Although, I believe it could have been repaired, I wanted a good excuse to buy a new and more architecturally interesting unit to accent the master bedroom. I was not disappointed. I just love my gray Minka Aire Transonic ceiling fan which looks super against the grayish blue walls and white ceiling. Service again was AMAZING!!! There was a misunderstanding on the color of the unit (which was back ordered and I should have noticed). The error was only discovered at the time I picked up the unit. No problem. They found the right color unit and they backordered the longer matching downrod to match. BEFORE you purchase a ceiling lamp at one of the big box stores, you should checkout this store. They carry comparable units and they have a great selection of medium to higher priced quality ceiling fans. Surprisingly, their prices are pretty good! Requested HECO to come out and discovered the 100 amp breaker melted the plastic behind it and basically fell apart. Requested an electrician on Memorial Day and Johny responded very quickly and came out right away. Obviously checked the reviews prior to requesting him. Anyways, by just providing him a picture he could tell just the breaker needed replacing instead of the whole panel, which would've costed thousands. Johny is super knowledgeable and friendly. He ended up checking all my breakers and if there were any overload. Basically made sure everything is safe and up to par. Got everything done within an hour including having HECO come back to reenergize my house. Everything is back to normal again. So thank you very much Johny and Grand Hawaii Electric. No, not poltergeist, just faulty wiring on a rocker switch. Thank heavens this didn't cause a kitchen fire! We unplugged the garbage disposal and contacted Direct Electric in the morning.
