My mother in law (Catherine Curtis) raves about this doctor's office! "I love the way Mia deals with her patients. She is always on top with everything. When I call and Mia answers the phone , I state my concerns and/or issues and she gets it done right away. She is so good with how she handles patients and how she speak to them. She is a very caring professional. Every time I go to the office, I immediately ask for Mia since I prefer to deal with her. I wish there was a lot more people in the office like her. I called the phone number for their neurologist. I explained that I needed to see a neurologist. They booked me for a neurologist. I arrived and said I was there to see the neurologist. I waited with all the complaining people packed in the waiting room. I went in to triage for pre-screen and was told I was seeing a regular internal medicine doctor and there was "no neurologist at this location" but I could schedule for a neurologist at another location. Over a month from now. I know it's hard to find a doctor these days but make sure you triple check everything with these disorganized people if you really must come here. read more

Part 2 of my review and I'm rating how they handled their mistake: - took them more than 24 hours to contact me by phone - took them more than 48 hours to respond on their fb page to what I wrote about them (same as here) The 1 star is mostly because of the message they left for me on my voicemail. They knew exactly what happened but the office manager asked me to call her back in order to have me explain to her what happened. Why should I? Playing dumb doesn't help. I've usually had a good experience with Empire Medical Doctors, Moaven is very good. I have to say that one of the worst doctors I've ever met is the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor on staff there, Arthur Lester. He is not only rude and insulting, making more comments about my "Silly, and unique name" rather than providing any sound and conclusive Medical advise. In fact, after seeking a second opinion, and a professional E,N&T exam, there is no reason to believe that this is a permanent condition. If anything, I've been subjected to more stress related to my condition, because of Dr. Lester's prognosis that in his words " it's something you'll get used to after about a year or so, just try not to aspirate yourself". He told me flat out that I'll most likely be unable to speak normally again. He didn't even do a complete exam, just looked in my mouth, then tells a 52 year old man, whom he's just insulted about his name, that he doesn't think he'll ever talk again. Horribly unqualified Medical doctor, Dr Arthur Lester. Or he's just lazy and rude, either way, don't put any trust that your health and we'll being is a priority for him, because he obviously has no competence or compassion as a doctor or as a human being. read more

I finally left Empire Medical after almost a decade. They have always had major issues with communication but the latest straw was the last straw. It was IMPOSSIBLE to get a 5 minute telephone conversation with a member of their medical staff about an issue concerning my health. Their inability to operate outside their (always faulty) telephone messaging system and (inactive) email system forced my hand. I hated to go to an unfamiliar doctor but the situation was serious and I needed help. I cold-called another local practice and, after a brief conversation was given a way forward. One MRI and a specialist visit later, a serious condition has been revealed and my path forward is set. The one star review is because Empire is GREAT at getting that copay money and advertising additional services! To the Empire staff: do not take this review as an insult, please take it as incentive to CHANGE the way you manage your business. The copays and all that are of course very, very important. Your appointment management system might indeed be inviolate. But on some level you must regain your understanding of what you are set up to do. You are set up to CARE FOR YOUR PATIENTS. The nonchalant attitude of your staff when a 10-year patient came to collect his medical records for transfer to another practice confirmed that Empire has lost is way completely. This AFTER that same patient tried and failed for 36 hours to get a 5 minute conversation with his doctor. I didn't even get a "is everything okay?" from anyone. Sad deterioration of a once excellent practice. Change, guys...change. read more

I have been trying to get a prescription refilled for over a week. They will not approve it until I see a doctor. I have left messages and no call back. Set up telephone confidence and waited on hold for over 1 hour half. I had to hang up and try to call now a busy signal. I would never recommend you make them your primary physician. There service is terrible. I would suggest picking another practice. read more

This practice is at its worst. Employees don't communicate with each other. Every one of them acts like they hate their jobs. I called to reconfirm my routine appointment and learned the doctor who was treating me left. There is no record of where she is. They gave me the appointment to see another doctor. I went for my appointment and was on time. After waiting for 2 hours, I reminded them that I am still here. They put me in one of the office. 2 other patients started fighting because they were there before me. I waiting in that room for another 45 minutes. Then decided to leave. I was trying to have them review my blood work. The doctor never came in. But a physician assistant came in and decided to go over my blood work. I never saw the doctor and left the office with doubts about my health. They charged me for the co pay. But never saw the doctor. Never got a follow up call. I am ashamed for this practice and the doctor who never came out because they don't believe in patient care. In the process of finding another Endo. Hopefully I am ok. If there are any issues with my health, my lawyers will have a field day. read more

My first visit was 2019 I'm diabetic i have too call the doctor regarding refill for my medication i have to call 3 times they say they going to call me back never did, i say to my self maybe the doctor is very busy i wen to see her 1/3/2020 i was sick they did blood test that day they say they going to call with the results 2 weeks later i call to know was going on, the person who answered the past the message 1 week later no returne call from the nurse or the doctor, talk to manager assistant and complain she was to going to get someone to call me a week later no call,1 moth later i was very mad talk to the manager office she try to help me but at this time I have oí hope, the manager assistant call me to give me the results to tell that my liver number was a little high and others problem with my blood test I have open heart surgery the liver problem can kill me and the stupid doctor or nurse did not have the dignity to call me. Dr.Dina Prus and nurse you dealing with human not animals.LEARN TO BE A BETTER DOCTOR!! empire medical is the worst. sorry my doctor is a part of this organization. i love and trust my doctor but because she is apart of this incompetent organization i may have to find another pc. it is sad how terrible they are. even my pharmacist complains they have been trying to call to refill a prescription for 2 months and cannot get through. i finally got someone today and she said that i have to come in when i tried to explain to her she hung up on me. i am going to file an official complaint. they are the worse. never seen anything like it. sorry my doctor hooked up with them. read more

Today i called to ask for assistance with severe opiate withdrawals and was turned away, not that this should surprise me, as they have previously mis-diagnosed, overcharged, and repeatedly forgotten to call me back. I have been a patient of this Practice since 1998 or 1999, when it was a small practice called "Dr. John Qualter". Over the years it has been transformed into a much bigger practice with many more doctors and different concentrations. In addition there are a number of renowned specialists also associated with this practice, including Doctors Yatinder Bains (Gastroenterologist), and Susan Rusnack (Urologist) As good as this practice has been over the years it seems to be losing (if it hasn't already lost) at least some of the attention to detail that endeared it to many patients. My personal experience has been that follow up calls after test results are not as prompt as they used to be. In fact sometimes there is no follow up for weeks until I either call or walk in to check. It used not to be like this. It would be understandable if this was only in situations where there was nothing of concern in a report. There have been instances when a report needed to be discussed. I hope Empire Medical will see this as a constructive criticism and fix the problem. I will love not to have to exercise my right to change doctors. On a scale of 1 - 5 Stars I will give the practice 3.5 Stars. Hoping to review this rating down the road. read more

For the past 20 years, I've been a patient to Dr. Qualter and Dr. Moaven's Professional Staff. Service has always been personal and excellent. Now, with the expansion of staff in various specializations , and lab facilities, this is the best Medical Associations for convenient one-stop medical examinations, testing, and personal medical assistance. I could not be more unhappy with my experience with Empire Medical. I was not even going to bother with a review but they are just so unorganized and unprofessional. I am still getting billed for their mistakes, even though I called multiple times to clear up the confusion. I was assured that the bill would be cancelled and that my insurance was taking care of it, and all of the sudden a few months later I'm getting the bill again. It's 100% covered by my insurance and I don't know why they can't figure this out. It's an obvious way to try to scam unknowing patients into paying them. The customer service is terrible and the doctor's visit was even worse. I will be leaving him a review as well. Choose another medical service. There are plenty others in the area. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. If you like to be blown off and never want answers, this is the place to be! An incredibly long story short: she was not specific on how I needed to take my medication. When I called about some effects I was having, they blamed me that I was taking it wrong. I was literally following her instructions of "take before bed," which are ambiguous if you do not go to bed at the exact same time every night. They never got back to me on my results, I had to call multiple times. When I got additional results from other testing faxed over, it magically never got to the doctor. So, some of my results had to be faxed to them three times!!!! A whole month after my appointment with them, they told me that I needed an appointment to go over my results. But the catch is, I can not get in to see he for ANOTHER month. There is no way I am waiting another month for her to tell me the same thing any other doctor can. TLDR: Don't go, it's not worth time or money. I'm not waiting a total of what would be two months for results, and neither should anyone else. read more
