Went here with many recommendations and agree with them. Had so many flavors and options. The place had a big queue of people for ordering. Tried their Dulce tentacio and chocolate - both were excellent. We ordered one scoop and came with a sugar cone. Have seating outdoors where we sat and enjoyed it. This place has been reviewed as one of the top ice cream shops in Santiago. However, it was pretty average tasting. Nothing to write home about. The flavors were typical and nothing out of the ordinary or unique. The serving size was small and it wasn't very cheap. Overall I wasn't very impressed and won't be coming back to eat overpriced average tasting ice cream. read more

Good choice of flavors. Price is comparable to in the States: $4.40 for 2 scoops. The texture was smooth and the flavors yummy, but the ice cream is quite soft, so they serve it in a cup and stick the cone on top. It was a nice midday treat, but you have to eat it fast if you don't want ice cream soup. read more

Emporio La Rosa will always have a special place in my heart. There was one point, when I first got here, that I would come here every day and get an ice cream. No but really...I wish I was exaggerating...everyday. Because of my daily afterwork routine or what some people might call a slight addiction...I have tried all of their artesanal ice cream flavors. Hands down, my favorite, is yogurt guinda. However, this flavor isn't for everyone, so ask to try it (along with as many other flavors until you find the perfect one). This particular shop is very busy, during the summer there is always a line out the door and people pack both inside the storefront as well as in the patio. So keep that in mind and be ready to stand in line, but don't doubt it, Emporio La Rosa is definitely worth the wait! Tip: If you don't want to wait in line, they have just opened a new store down the street on Lastarria street and they have many others around Santiago. read more

This place is one of the 25 best ice creameries in the world according to some list. Being an ice cream lover, I absolutely had to make a stop here to try it out for myself. For takeaway ice cream, you have to pay first. Then take your ticket to the ice cream counter. You can ask to sample flavors. I tried the lemon mint basil and the miel de ulmo, but wasn't really wowed by these flavors. For my two scoops I picked chocolate avellana (hazelnut) and durazno (peach). While they tasted good, I didn't like the texture of the ice cream that much. The chocolate avellana was too thick and not creamy enough and the peach which was more like a sorbet was too icy. I was a bit disappointed. I went back the next day to try different flavors - I got cookies and cream and mora (blackberry) which were better. It's a cute place (very pink), the employees are really nice, and it was fun to try some of the special flavors, but I didn't think it was one of the best in the world... read more

Went there twice. First for icecream (which was ok, but anywhere near good to justify the long lines), second time for lunch. I had caprese salad (again just ok) and an ice cream desert which was nothing special. As I was taling my last bites, my plan was to give 3 stars. Then I discovered my handbag was stolen in the restaurant. I was not expecting them not to charge me -- it is OK that they did, though not according to my significant other. I would have expected some help calling the police however but that did not happen. And my friend who was with me inferred from whatever they spoke in Spanish that this routinely happens and they were not surprised. She was upset however that they did not warn us beforehand. read more

I thought buenos aires had the best helado. This is a million times better. The best ice cream ever. The plantano y munjar is amazing. The rosa is good too. It's freezing here and yet all I can think off is more helado. read more

My absolute favourite place in Santiago to get ice cream! The flavours constantly change and they're all delicious! My favourite flavours are dulce de leche and the limón, menta y albahaca. Definitely ask to try some flavours before you make the difficult decision of choosing which you'll have today. Get the honey MIEL DE ULMO ice cream. This location is a local favorite, and the ice cream is pretty good... but one of the world´s best? Hmmm... still, it is pretty good and close to a nice park. If you are in the Lastarria - Bellas Artes area it is worth checking out. read more

I don't get the hype. We stopped by about 30min before closing. The ice cream/gelato was good but definitely not as good as other stores in the Lastarria or Bellavista area. The price is average for the area and portion is more than fair. I had the lemon gelato was very icy and chunky. It was not close to what you can find a block away. There is usually a line out the door as we noticed stopping by on another Saturday afternoon. This is a chain and they have another location a block away on Jose Victorino Lastarria with its own long line so some people really like it. read more
