Other than that, my husband had the homemade ravioli containing spinach and I had the halibut with saffron risotto and spinach and cauliflower salad. The skin of the halibut was very crispy and this was quite possibly the best meal of Italian food that we have had outside of Italy. The ambiance was exciting and youthful and we would return! Bistro Italiano DaSilvano is one of the few places in Krakow that endow their pizzas with a decent amount of pizza sauce, baked in the pies themselves. They could almost pass for American pizzas. On the day of my first visit I ordered the pizza prosciutto as it was a menu special. For just 15 zł I got a 32cm pie that is both filling and thoroughly enjoyable. On another occasion I tried the salmon ravioli. It's a dish I'd also readily recommend. I quite liked the al-dente texture of the pasta. One weak point at this otherwise fine establishment are their soups. I've tried two and both tasted rather cut-rate. As an item that accompanies set meals they might be adequate. Purchased separately they're definitely not worth the money. Bistro Italiano DaSilvano is literally a mom-n-pop operation. The couple are friendly enough, though sometimes they seem to forget that there're customers sitting in the dinning hall when they're attending to other business.
