I now take the small child to Enchanted Castle and I like it so much that I have had his past 2 birthday parties here upon his request. Not regular sit and watch the animated show on the stage parties but Sir Bounce Alot parties. That is a jumpy party for those of you not in the know. It is contained and supervised and an incredibly good seal compared to other "jumpy" party places. I could not be happier and neither could the small child. Grand daughter's birthday party We only had 4 children with us but had to pay for a minimum of 10. This was not a problem, the problem was when we were charged for 11 children ? We were told that because of the number of children we had, they had to charge for at least 1 adult? This is confusing to me still. Skee Ball is fun whether you're 8 or 80. I took three children and one adult there last night. The kiddos ranged in age from 6 to 13 and we all had a blast. We were there for almost four hours and could've easily stayed another two and not done everything. Things we did: Laser Tag, bumper cars, and the arcade games. Things we didn't: mini-golf, go karts, hamster area (I don't know what they call it, it's the playground with the tunnels). It's pricey if you're going with 3 kids, but the Yelp check-in offer helped (29.95 for 100 tokens, pitcher of soda, and pizza that easily fed the five of us). They get 3 start and not 5 because the pizza was mediocre at best and the bathrooms are gross. Other than that, considering it was a Saturday night it wasn't too bad. It was busy but when the kids saw a game they wanted to do they only had to wait for two games. Not too shabby. On a side note, when I showed the manager my phone w/ the Yelp deal he had no idea what I was talking about. I think the fault lies w/ the owner for not letting the staff know about the deal. It took awhile to get it straightened out but he did honor it. The best kids activities are the one that kids love and parents don't hate. Well...this place went one step beyond that in that I actually enjoyed myself. Think of this as a much, much better Chuck E Cheeses. PROS * We love the go-karts, laser tag, and bumper cars. * The lines aren't bad. * During the week (I think they say non-school holidays), there is a good deal where you can buy discounted tickets to their premium rides (go-karts, laser tag, spinny ride, climbing gym, and bumper cars). It was 3 rides for $10. Institute days are perfect Enchanted Castle days. * The New Years Eve kids event is fantastic. It is $25 a head and included dinner (food was the predictable kids stuff), $5 in game tokens, and unlimited premium rides. The event was well run and we had a blast. * My little guy (age 4) could participate in almost all activities. He couldn't drive the go-kart, but he was happy to be a passenger. CONS * A la carte pricing for the preimum rides can get expensive. * The process of the kids using their tickets to buy a pile of junk is painful. read more

Being the giant kid at heart that I am, I really want to come here for a date. It would be so much fun. Bumper cars, laser tag, mini golf, skee ball, air hockey, one of those little photo booths. Really, It would be awesome. I came here the other day with the kids I work with as part of their weekend activity. They were really bad earlier, so I almost didn't take them, but that's another story. Anyway, they only had $10 each, which they exhausted pretty quickly on the games and we were done in about 40 minutes. But since they begged me to take them to enchanted castle anyway, they were pretty content. From that observation, I suppose it could get expensive. But there are some good package options that are probably worth it , and they have a lot of holiday specials. I just had a 9 year old's Birthday party at Enchanted, and it was awesome! In fact, the consensus of both the parents and the kids was that it was already chosen for many of the kid's next parties. Apparently, for those that reside in the city, like us, prior parties of this sort are frequently had at Chucky Cheese. That is a MISTAKE!! In no possible way can Enchanted be compared to CC as it is so far and away superior. As one Mom put it, "this place makes Chucky Cheese look like K-Mart in comparison" (not that there is anything wrong with K-Mart, but you certainly wouldn't put it in the same league as if you were shopping Michigan Ave.). Granted, Enchanted is in Lombard, but it only took us about 25 min to get there on a Sunday. To begin with, Enchanted is CLEAN! Their game room / rides and attractions area almost looks brand new. Their restaurant portion is also very clean, well organized, and was perfect for the cake / pizza portion of the party. Still, let's be real...the kids wanted games..and attractions, and there was enough of that to keep the kids busy for close to 4 hours -- basically until the adults had to shut it down. We supersized the party (modest addt fee), which took the package we paid for and then allowed the kids to go on any ride / attraction for as many times as they wanted. Keep in mind, there are some height requirements to be met: for the go karts, you have to be at least a certain height, and for the kids jungle gym, you can't exceed a certain height. As such, I was the driver in the go karts. Let's just say, I had a blast! The karts are super fast, and the track challenging enough to make it a lot of fun. Laser tag, the catapult and then bumper cars were also taken full advantage of. Lastly, service and accommodation by staff and management was impeccable, and appreciated by all of the adults. So, we all really had a great time, and not only is there talk of additional kids parties at Enchanted, but an adult party bus trip has also been thrown around. Not a bad idea... read more

My family and I visited enchanted castle for my niece's 1st birthday. My review is based on my experience as party guest. What I liked: -The host and employees were all really nice. The people who work here all seem to enjoy their jobs. The hosts inside the party room were good at getting the kids involved in activities (mummy game on stage, dancing, karaoke) -Beer and wine can be ordered at the counter, but needs to stay in the dining area. -There are games for all ages, a climbing area with tubes (think "discovery zone"), golf, go carts, bumper cars, laser tag, etc. Lots to do!!! What I wasnt so crazy about: -A few other moms of young babies (under 2) were talking and we all agreed, why don't they have a small gated area for toddlers to play in? I mean, a rug, gate and a few fisher price toys would give the babies something to do while their siblings play big kid games, and would cost enchanted castle minimum $$ to do -The bathrooms were gross...like super dirty -Too many unsupervised kids. It got annoying, some parents obviously brought their kids there with no token $ because quite a few kids were begging strangers for tokens. Why bring your kid if you can't give them a few dollars to play with? And why let your kids run wild and talk to strange adults? (that is not EC's fault, but something to keep in mind, if that kind of thing annoys you) Something I noticed: the security guards here are armed and wear bullet proof vests. This place has come a long long way. I remember it (along with Naperville's riverwalk) as a place to hang for high school burn-outs on the weekends...no longer (for both). I was most impressed with the Qubica Hwy 66 miniature bowling lanes. The jungle gym thing for the kids is pretty cool (as in huge) too. My nephew couldn't find his way out and we had to send one of the other ones in on a rescue mission. Each of us pretty much ran the gamut for less than $20 and it was a good birthday party hangout for about 5 hours. My only 'request box' entry to them would be to come up with something to replace the corny animatronics show you get with a birthday party package. This place is really cool I was here for a b-day party they have everything. The go cart racing was awesome and even fitting for a 6 foot person. Laser tag was outstanding and seemed to last a while. My son went to a birthday party here and I stayed. Yes, they have lots of options - laser tag, miniature golf, a bounce house, go karts and those tunnels you can climb through. The party was at 10 am on a Monday morning and the place was dead. Good for the party boy, but the staff must have been hungover or something because they were hard to find. You think with 1 group of 15 kids there would be 1 person kind of around to make sure the games were working, but there wasn't. If you had a game that wasn't working, there wasn't anyone to help you. You try explaining to a 5 year old that they aren't getting those tokens back.! When we did the laser tag, there was a guy there to make sure everything was working ok and when they were in the party room with those creepy animatronic figures, there was somebody, it was just when we were in the big room. The party he experienced was like this - play games with the tokens, play laser tag, pick out your toy from the tickets you got playing games, eat pizza, see creepy robot animals, play a hot potato game and go play in the tubes. Enchanted Castle is a barrel full of fun for people of all ages! I've been to the sister amusement park, Haunted Trails, since that is the one I lived by growing up, but EC is way better. There are so many fun games and if you're smart, there are some low token games (Revenge of the Hammerhead) that gives you your best chance of getting a big haul of tickets. My boyfriend and I ended up with 1200 tickets on only 80 tokens (we played other games too) and used them to buy a sweet pug salt and pepper shaker. Last time, we bought a Spock drinking glass. EC provides a lot of fun and nostalgia (Bozo buckets, anyone?). Sure, sometimes a machine eats your tokens or doesn't spit out your tickets but just ask one of the employees and they'll give you whatever you lost out on. They also have laser tag, go carts, and 9-hole mini golf. The mini-golf is a little lame but the laser tag is a lot of fun. Just don't be on the blue team because your home base is in the middle of the floor, so you're highly susceptible to losing points. The only downside to EC is the pizza. Don't get it. It's awful. The crust and breading is like cardboard and tastes slightly undercooked. Eat before hand. Otherwise, this is a great place for a date night or to bring your kids. I have heard of this place many times when I was growing up, but 25 years later, I finally came here for my little cousin's birthday party on Sunday. Upon arriving, this place was packed and we walked into the party room, which was filled with kids. The food there is pretty bad, but I didn't expect it to be really good. The sausage pizza we got taste worse than frozen pizza, and it was like 2 different sausage pizzas put together to make one. You could tell that they were 2 different pizzas by the color of the cheese and the cut of the pizza. The supreme pizza was okay for the most part. The arcade area is a pretty good size and they have a lot more selections to chose from than other arcade spots that I have tried. We came here looking for indoor mini golf, but the kids immediately went nuts for the games so we never even got to pick up a club. As far as the games go, the selection is pretty huge and the machines seem to be generally well-maintained. Most of the games spit out tickets and there are plenty of ticket counting machines to use when you are tired of holding on to wads of tickets. The kids also spent time at the huge play area, lots of stuff to climb and tubes to crawl in and out of. They seemed to have fun, though I guess it can get a little bit like the wild west in there - it seemed like every other minute I heard a crying, screaming kid begging to be let out. One thing I wish I had paid more attention to was the combo admission packages that they had available - we paid for some stuff ala carte, like bumper cars and the play area, and it probably would have been more economical to buy passes with unlimited admissions to some of these things. Overall I found Enchanted Castle to be far less chaotic and tacky than I had expected. The only really stressful part of the visit was cashing in the ticket reciepts. They had maybe only 3 or 4 people behind the counter to service a couple dozen overwhelmed and indecisive kids, and there seems to be a big, involved signature process (product warranty?) for some of the bigger prizes. Considering that most kids will walk away with nothing more than a handful of small, cheap prizes, the redemption process was way more stressful than it was worth. read more

I celebrated my son's birthday party here in March this year. It was a party of 6 friends, I purchased the Key's to the Kingdom package. It was just under $150 with tip, which is a pretty good deal. Pizza, pop, ice cream, birthday cake, tokens & wristbands for rides & games.The robotic dragon show was really cheesy for this age group, kids 10 and older, younger kids will enjoy it though. The birthday boy had a spin of the wheel and received an extra 500 tickets, lucky boy, highest amount you could win. The kids had access to almost everything which was unlimited. Bumper cars were the big go on and off again ride of the day, but all it did for me after awhile was remind me that I hate the smell of rubber. I was glad to move on after that. The laser tag and 3D movie experience was only good for one use, being the most expensive. Each child was also given their own tokens, which came with the package and seem to be just enough for the video games. They utilized everything in 3 hours of time when the party ended...thank god, they could of stayed there all day if it were up to them. In the end every child had enough tickets to cash in and pick out a prize. All were happy, except for the pizza, only a few kids ate more than one piece, way to greasy. The kids instead ate way to much of the ice cream and choc. cake which well gave them lots of energy to burn. I would do it again in a heartbeat, lots of smiles and giggles were the reward of my day. My oldest is getting a little big for Chuck E Cheese, so I told him to pick some other indoor kiddie place to celebrate his 10th birthday. After we learned Magi Quest in Illinois *closed* forever just a few days before his birthday, he decided to go with Enchanted Castle. I didn't buy a party package, and was told we could not bring in our own cake. We enter, and EVERYONE has brought their own cake. Luckily there was a Jewel right down the way, and I was able to pick up a cake so my son's friends could at least take part in the B-Day tradition. The exits aren't supervised, but with them being a bit older it wasn't a huge deal. We also had a few adults to keep an eye out, as this place is pretty large. Yeah, you will lose a kid or two. The food... just avoid it. It's bad. It sucks to have crappy pizza for a party, but what are you going to do. If they're in the right age group, they probably won't care much. This was their first time at Enchanted Castle and they had a super duper major freak out good time. (Really, it was ridiculous.) One of my son's friends saved all of his tickets, with the plan to *make* his parents take him back. They had a ball. Make sure you get passes for laser tag, and all the car ride stuff, etc. If your children have never been, they'll have a hard time going just for the video games and ignoring all the other fun stuff. The boys ran around like little monkeys the entire time, only stopping for drinks. The excitement didn't seem to wear off at all, even though we stayed for a pretty long time. We've been many times for family outings. It's our kids' favorite "reward outing" for good grades, chores, etc. Prices are good, pizza is good, but the people really make it. We've never had a bad experience with any of the staff, and in fact, usually find them to be very generous of spirit and incredibly welcoming. The owners really attract good people. Last night we had our son's 5th birthday there. The kids had an amazing time and so did the adults. It was nice to have such a big space for the kids to enjoy while we got to visit as well. I used to go here ALL the time as a kid. It was sort of the "cooler" Chuck-e-Cheese. You'll find all your usual games here plus some neat add-ons, like the simulated roller coaster ride and the real-life water jet you can ride on as you play the game. Its a cool place to go even now. We came around Christmas time - and the kids were lucky enough to get to see Santa and each got a coin holder with a few tokens inside. Unfortunately, after being used to places like Chuck E Cheese, where everything is 1 token... most games here (including the 'little kid' games) are at least 2 tokens, if not more! I appreciate the safety of an armed police officer at the front door, but the fact that that is needed means this is not a place for children. I love this place for my kids. They recently went with cards for everything, which is so much better than carrying a receipt that can easily be misplaced. If you go during the week the crowds aren't big, and even on the weekends it doesn't seem so bad. After waiting 1/2 hour for the bumper car ride, my 10 year old grandson was told you have to be 16 to drive; VERY DISAPPOINTING. Too bad there were no signs posted at the start of the line about age requirements. There were no Go Carts. The arcade games are typical and a rip off. I've been coming here since I was a kid and I've always loved coming here. When you walk in it still looks the same and so does the carpet lol. But they have made a new play area for little kids and have had a small bowling alley. They have also have up to date arcade games as well. I would agree with everyone else though that the pizza is alright. There is better lol. What I really don't like though is that you get 3 tokens to a dollar. I think that's a big no no. Especially since most games are 3 or 4 tokens. They do have a lot more prizes to chose from now than back then but the better the prize the more tickets you need. I want to first say thank you for hosting my son's 11th birthday party on 3/31/18. I had high hopes for this party considering I have so many great memories of Enchanted Castle from my childhood and being able to share this with my son was exciting. Well I was extremely disappointed in the party. The entire thing was unorganized, rushed and lack luster. Here are the things that didn't work: The party was scheduled for 2:00 pm. We got in the door and immediately my host was asking me about food orders and we hadn't even sat down yet. The tables were extremely close. We had 18 kids and 18 adults. The setup was crushed together and one of our tables was on the side of the stage and awkward. There was a game on stage with all the birthday kids with toilet paper. The person in charge gave little direction, my child and his cousin who were partners didn't know what was going on, the 17 kids at the party weren't entertained, it all was a mess and boring. Next came the pizza and drinks. The order was correct and the server got that out pretty quick. She made sure the drinks stayed updated and that all kids ate - GOOD JOB HERE Next came the karaoke or lack there of...my son wanted to sing Happy. We asked for that and he's pretty excited to do it and we find out the machine isn't work, the words can't appear on the screen and my nephew offered to put the words on his phone but that was not what we paid for. In the end, we decided not to do the karaoke because the host kept reminding us that we needed to move on because there were other people. Next was the birthday cake, we did that fine but after we sung, my host walked away so i thought i had to cut the cake, come to find out that was her job. i was confused because she was gone for a while. i am assuming she had her next party. Next we release the kids to play games. We were told that all EIGHTEEN of our guests would do one laser tag game. I purchased the keys to the kingdom package that included UNLIMITED Bumper Cars* UNLIMITED Catapult Rides* 3 Premium Attractions (Choose three from the list.) So there are 18 slots in laser tag so we thought during our scheduled time all the kids would play together...WRONG! Somehow they overbooked our time frame which i had to schedule because the front desk NEVER called for our time and then we had 3 of our kids that had to wait another round because our slot was overbooked. There were so many things going wrong and the party was not worth the $450 that I paid. I am very dissatisfied and I will not be returning to do another party in the future.
