I've been here a couple of times. Each time, it was one of the designated parking spots for a local half marathon that took place over at Moonlight Beach Park. What's there to say about a City Hall? I've been here twice for meetings/workshops. It's laid out well with clean bathrooms, nice historic pictures on the wall and large comfortable chambers. Don't know what other city halls look like but Encinitas seems pretty nice. read more

While the Civic Center isn't sexy architecturally, what's unique about it is that it was a former supermarket. The change of use for an existing building is a cool thought. Staff moved in from the former location of City Hall on Westlake Street to this location in the mid-90s. Encinitas old-timers probably can recognize where produce, meats, and frozen food was located inside. Goofy cool. read more
