I was in quick need of a specific dress for a wedding, down to the color and style. I had called ahead to see if they had something close to that, and Becky said she would pull a few in my size that might work for me. By the time I got there, I had several beautiful and very reasonably priced options to choose from. I found the PERFECT dress for $22.00- CRAZY! She even found complimentary necklace, earrings and a bracelet to match that were perfect. I even nabbed a super cute fall long sleeve that I couldn't live without. The store is clean, well laid out, roomy, very nicely done size and color coordination, AWESOME prices, and very helpful staff. I have been shopping at Encore since the early 1990's; as a 20 something to 50 something - size 0 to larger than I would like to admit! Through the years I have always found excellent pieces to add to my wardrobe - often one-of-a-kind or even runway pieces. The purses - the shoes, the formal wear and always something great to take on vacation. I cannot say enough positive comments on the owners and staff. They even have a seamstress if you need to adjust your garments. Encore is my first stop when looking for a new piece. And if you consign - it is all digitized, you can see your items listed and if they have sold. Absolutely fantastic! read more

I went to Encore looking for my wedding dress, and I was amazed at the selection and prices of dresses they carried! Granted, my experience prior to Encore was thrift shops and antique clothing stores with a small selection of dresses, so if you're coming from David's Bridal it might seem more limited. However, it is SO worth stopping by Encore if you're dress shopping, because their prices are amazing for dresses in new condition. I ended up falling in love with the first dress I tried on, but it was much too long and strapless and I was afraid the alterations to shorten it and add sleeves would push us beyond our budget, so I wasn't sure what to think. However, the sweet saleswoman who was assisting us let us know that the seamstress Encore recommends just happened to be in the store for another Bridal fitting, and so she came and checked out the dress on me as soon as she was done with her appointment. She immediately pulled out some cap sleeves to give me an idea of what it would look like, and pinned my dress up the way it would look if it was the right length, as well as all bustled up. (It has a big train!) She was so personable and knowledgeable, my mother and I instantly trusted her...yet we were still holding our breath about the price, since some of the alterations were a little tricky with the complexity of the dress. She gave us her quote and I just about fell over...because of how incredibly reasonable it was! My mother and I instantly said yes to her doing the alterations, and we bought the dress! We also shopped around for a mother of a bride dress and a shower dress for me, and all the prices were great. What I especially appreciate about Encore is how organized everything is, as well as the quality of the items. They only take the good stuff! Seriously, whether you're looking for that special dress or some everyday clothes, you gotta come check this place out. read more

I could not get everything to fit in one review so here is the rest of the story.......After realizing all the short cuts, incomplete work and damage that was done to my dress with only, at this point two weeks, before we were leaving for Montana I was pretty upset to say the least. I called Encore the next day and spoke with Becky (one of the owners) about everything. Her initial response was that Vicki has been doing this for 12 years, she's never had anyone complain, they stood behind her and they were still going to recommend her. She also asked me what I wanted from her and told me that she would talk to Vicki. I then let her know that I did not want anything from her, I did not expect a refund from her because it was not her business as Vicki was essentially an independent contractor. All I wanted was for them to know the extremely poor job she did on my dress so that they would not continue to recommend her. After we got off the phone she called me back within the next 20 minutes, let me know that she couldn't get ahold of Vicki but that she had talked to her business partner and they were going to send me a check the next day for $100 (I paid Vicki $200) since they had recommended her. The next day I called Romashka Bridal since I had left me dress there for them to look at and see if they could fix it. The receptionist told me that the seamstress and just got done looking at the dress 20 minutes prior, they were hesitant to touch the dress because of the poor work done to it already and they couldn't let it out in the hips without making it look obvious. She suggested that I pick up the dress. In tears, my husband and I headed over to Romashka Bridal to meet Maria. She then explained to me in more detail what they had found. Besides the list of things mentioned previously, again, the biggest problem was that it needed to be let out in the hips. Everything else going on with the dress was an easy fix compared to this. The problem was that they didn't have any extra fabric to be able to let it out in the hips. At this point they also showed me that Vicki had literally cut out layers of the dress!!!!! And not only that but they weren't straight cuts!!! I was in complete shock. From here they asked me to find out if Vicki had any of the fabric left from my dress and they had already emailed Maggie Soterro, the dress designer, to see if they had some extra fabric they could send us. The designer did not have extra fabric for this dress and neither did Vicki. When Becky from Encore called me back to let me know that Vicki didn't have extra fabric, Becky informed me that Vicki was upset because I was upset and she wanted to talk to me. I let her know that the only reason I would want to talk to Vicki would be if I got my money back and to tell her not to call me. Again, Becky wished me a happy wedding, apologized for the inconvenience but let me know that they still stood behind Vicki and I was the first complaint they ever had about her. Becky did end up sending me another $100, so we did get a full refund but it was not from Vicki. The dress was fixed by Romashka Bridal but that was stress that I did not need to deal with and none of this should have ever happened. I trusted that what Vicki was telling me was right because she was the "professional". I didn't question things nearly as much as I should have and now I am paying for it. I hope this helps someone else who is thinking about using Vicki for alterations. read more

They will lose your consignment items!!!! I took several items to consign to this store and kept track of the items and prices that they quoted me. Every time I would go to pick up my check for items sold, they were short on money. They kept telling me they lost some of my items and that's why I wasn't paid for them. There were several formal prom dresses that were "lost." I will never support this business again. read more

This place is fantastic, clothing beautiful and well kept, Reasonably priced. My Daughter flew into Cleveland Airport from Oklahoma to perform in a concert, as we were getting in the car she said "Mom, I didn't find a dress, " we went straight from the airport to Encore and we weren't disappointed, she found the perfect dress and shoes! I used to buy tons of stuff there over the years. Never again! The prices are outrageous. I can find better deals shopping a sale AND it won't be pre worn. The biggest complaint I have is all the crap that they're selling that is made in china. That is not consigning. I wouldn't have a problem if they wanted to add local artisan's wares, but this is just plain crap that I can find in the bargain bin of a Kmart or Walmart type store. I had never heard of Encore until today. I was getting very nervous about finding a dress for my sons wedding that would fit right...I'm 63 large chested, with a petite frame. I thought I had been every where and was running out of luck. Then I heard about Encore. I not only found one gown but two. I also found 3 other casual dresses, pants, and a cover up, and shoes. This is a second time around shop....but is of such a high quality. It is my new favorite store. It is clean, layed out beautifuly for ease of finding things, and the ladies were wonderful. Encore has been "losing"items for over thirty years. They lost a coat of mine and then offered to give me someone else's! I phoned the Better Business Bureau and they said that they had many complaints about Encore. Think before you take anything here. read more

I'm from Ohio but I currently live in Arizona and was on the look for prom dresses during my visit. A friend actually recommended this place so I decided to look it up. Within the first two days of looking for a prom dress, I went to 11 different stores in many different cities and was just so exhausted and frustrated. I decided to call Encore before visiting so I wouldn't waste a trip. I called and the lady answered very nicely. I told her my name, my number, my size dress and the color I was looking for. She told me to give her 30min and she would pull whatever she could find that matched my description. In 30min I received a call and she told me that she would send over 4 dresses she found. Within 5min, I received a photo message containing all of the dresses she found for me. Unfortunately, the dresses were not what I was looking for but I did appreciate the amazing customer service. Last August I purchased a cute little Chiffon ruched wedding dress & hired Vicki (their Amazing seamstress) to help me create the Wedding dress of my dreams.I had a vision & described it to her and together we created the most Amazing wedding dress and this past Sunday I got Married to my best friend in front of family & close friends and everyone said the dress was gorgeous and my groom said I looked so beautiful ,he couldn't believe how beautiful my dress looked on me. She is not only an amazing seamstress but also a really great lady.I love this store and highly recommend it to any bride who doesn't want to spend a fortune and also to create her own wedding dress and make her day that much more special.I also found a couple gorgeous dresses there for the honeymoon that she's going to alter a little for me.
