The students have just been given a timeline regarding when they can return to campus to empty out their dorm rooms. The campus is beautiful. My kid is from San Francisco. She was late in applying and was accepted a couple days after her on campus interview. It took her one semester to find her stride after she switched majors. Now she is loving it: professors, dorm posse, three beaches, train rides into Boston, exploring Cape Ann with friends who have cars. I believe she is falling in love with New England, and a large part off that is because of the Endicott family.

After working a brief stint as a gallery director, I know first hand how poorly other school prepare you for the "real world." The only two submission packages which I received, in the three months with TemporaryGallery, that showed any sense of professionalism were from MCAers (they will remain nameless, as they both are very humble and get rosy over compliments). But I don't only have to compare the school to others to note why I love it: Scott Hadfield, Barbara Moody, Luara Tonelli, Marjorie Augenbraum, and the list goes on. I was placed in peabody hall this year with no notice that there would be construction directly outside of my dorm for the ENTIRE year. As someone who works full time and usually until 12 am, getting woken up EVERY morning by drilling and beeping sucked. When I contacted housing and the RD of my building about moving dorms I was ghosted. I've gotten food poisoning from the dining hall over 4 times. Everytime I've stepped foot into marsh dining hall, there's been mice. The students here are inconsiderate and if you get asked to do a group project, be prepared to do the bulk of it. Faculty doesn't reach out and help with career guidance upon gradation- you get to figure it all out on your own! If you are just looking for a degree and no community or a miserable college experience Salem State is the place for you!
