Great walking areas and not crowded at all on a Wednesday. There were a couple of school groups but overall we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The mini zoo was cute but rather muddy and didn't have too many animals. The playground area provided a great break for the kids to get some extra energy out and the snack bar was a good option for a coffee break while the kids played. Bathrooms available throughout the zoo and they were all clean and stocked with toilet paper and soap. Some of the animal enclosures seemed a little small for the animals but overall they were clean and the animals were quite active. Definitely a nice way to spend a day with kids!

A lot of the animals were stressed and unhappy. There were two servals in separate enclosures. The enclosures were way to small, and both of them were pacing back and forth. One of the birds I saw also did this. I am no professional in animal behaviours, but it was very clear that the animals weren't happy. Second of all the giraffes. There were also two giraffes, and they had no way of getting to each other. Giraffes are social animals and should be able to interact with each other. Both of them were males, and sure one could have been sick or something, but I think in that case the giraffe would have been inside and under observation. One of the giraffes was in an extremely small enclosure with nothing in it, nothing! The other one was in a bigger habitat with grass, but nothing else. They didn't either look very happy. I also saw a snow leopard there, but mind you, it was 25 degrees celsius and I have read that snow leopards can survive that, but it probably won't be ideal for it's health in the long run. Again, I'm no specialist, but that snow leopard probably wasn't happy. Lastly, the birds. They had a lot, and I don't think any of them could fly in their area. It was to small, and there was no enrichment. I started crying when I was in this zoo because I care for animals health and happiness, and I don't think I saw any animal that was happy. It's the iconic Old Town square in Kraków. It's probably the most visited place in the city other…read morethan Wawel Castle. You'll pass through it multiple times when staying here. The medieval architecture reminds me a lot of the Old Town square in Prague, only this one feels more open. It's unique in that there is still a functioning Cloth Hall in the center of the square. The space still feels larger than most market squares in Europe even though it appears to be the second largest behind Charles Square in Czechia. You'll find everything here. There are cafés, the beautiful St. Mary's Cathedral, Town Hall Tower, Adam Mickiewicz Monument, and the Eros Bound sculpture. The Cloth Hall has many vendors selling Polish goods & souvenirs. There's a museum inside of it with a beautiful café on the top level that overlooks the square. You will also find the obwarzanek krakowski vendors around the square along the street corners. They have many festivals that take place at the square all during the year. They were setting up booths for an event during our last day in Kraków. I'm sure it's an especially nice place to be at Christmas time when it's all decorated. We enjoyed our daily visits. The only advice I have is to venture out more to some of the hidden gems around it. The restaurant prices can be higher in the main square compared to the ones along the outer streets. However, we did find some wonderful places along the touristy street of Floriańska despite that. To be honest, even the higher prices are very good compared to other European cities. I can't say that Kraków is underrated. There were many tourists there in the month of August. I'm not sure how it usually is outside of the summer months. All I can say is that it's a city that I want to visit again. We loved it!

Yelp Review 2023 #281:…read more Rynek Glowny is the main square in Krakow that goes all the way back to the 13th century. It was used as a market place for international trading and such. Eastern goods brought to Europe through here. There was one in Warsaw too but it got destroyed during World War II. At almost 14 acres, this is the largest townsquare in Europe that's been around the medieval times. Somehow, it was spared from getting destroyed during the war because this was the headquarters for German soldiers back then. There's a church, underground museum, Cloth Hall/ Sukiennice (they sold textiles, salt, lead, leather, etc here in the 13th century). Now, there are stalls for basically everything in the Cloth Hall. Lots of restaurants, apartments, hotels and cafes surround the square now. If you're thinking about staying at a hotel within the square, do know that cars/ taxis cannot enter the narrow streets so, they'll drop you off close to the square and you'll have to walk to your hotel. Which is what I ended up doing. I didn't see any street performers. On my way to the basilica, I did get stopped by a man who was "collecting money for Ukraine". I didn't carry cash with me so he told me to Zelle him money - okkkkk...not sus at all. It's pretty lively especially around Christmas. Lots of lights and there's a giant Christmas tree in the middle of the square and a Christmas Market. After going to Schindler's Enamel Factory and Auschwitz, this is the place to be to reset your mood and your mind.

I withheld a star because it is a bit littered and probably a good locale to be pickpocketed.

We decided 2 hours in the swimming pool was enough which was 65zl for an adult and child. If you have older children or are with friends then go for the beach area and unlimited time. We had loads of fun on the slides and in the poles. We were spot on with the two hours and had a lot of fun. The bigger slides are limited to 10yrs & 13yrs or above. There are some slides and play areas for younger children so no matter the age of your family you can have a lot of fun
