This is a great place for kids, because there are places for kids to play (like playgrounds), snacks and vendors, restrooms, and a train to take you through the park. The train ride was a relaxing ride, and a nice way to see the layout of the park. The train was only 1 MX peso. We enjoyed walking around and seeing the sights. There is plenty of shade, which is good as Merida can be quite hot. The animal exhibits were interesting and well kept. The larger animals definitely needed more space, but the animals seemed well cared for overall.
