I visited the Ensenada Cruiseport Village in Ensenada, México [Teniente Azueta 224] on Monday, 05/18/26. This port was a stop for the Carnival Cruise Line (Ship - Carnival Radiance) to explore Ensenada. Upon arrival, disembarking from the cruise ship was easy. Guests were able to walk directly off the ship with the crossing bridge. At the port, I was pleased with the couple of offerings with the vibrant 'Ensenada' signs for photo-worthy pictures. The waterfront area offered decent views, with a plethora of boats and many plants ashore. The port itself was easy to navigate through but it was a bit of a walk into Ensenada. When walking into the city, there were a bunch of street-based food/merchandise vendors, restaurants, convenience stores, and local businesses nearby. Overall, the cruise port allows the opportunity to venture around Ensenada, Mexico for shopping, dining, sightseeing and so much more. Ensenada provided an adequate exploration experience. Much appreciation to Carnival Cruise Lines for bringing guests here while on the cruise vacation to experience the Mexican culture. read more

Very efficient customs. Very secure. There's not much to do at the port itself, but it does have a sign that is perfect for selfies. It looks like there is space for some sort of market to be opened at times, but I've never seen anyone selling items within the port itself. The sea lions at the edge are fun to watch.... as are the sea gulls that circle the ships looking for easy treats. read more

Had a good time in Ensenada. My group was approached by a super cool local driver named Marteen. He offered us a ride to downtown Ensenada where we can do some shopping. He dropped us off and offered to pick us up anywhere we were once we finished because he knew the area quite well. We exchanged numbers, did some souvenir shopping, snagged some cool items and afterwards gave him a text and he was a man of his word and promptly picked us up to take us back to the port. While shopping the area we were approached lots of times by tenacious sellers, but they weren't nearly as aggressive as the sales people in Cabo. So we did end up spending quite a bit of money with them and had a bunch of souvenirs to show for it. The local law enforcement at the port are professional and efficient at keeping the lines moving steadily when it comes to the cruisers having to walk through the metal detector to re-board the ship. read more

I love that it's walking distance to the malecon and downtown Ensenada. I wish there was more close to where you disembark. It's not the most attractive area. Looks like there is construction nearby so hopefully they are making some improvements. read more

The port was very clean, and I love that the cruise offered us beverages and snacks as we were getting back onto our cruise ship. However, I really wish this port was similar to Nassau's port. You have to take a shuttle to downtown to find any kind of shopping and even from there there's very minimal shopping so then they try to get you to pay more money to take you to the open air market, which is about a 30 minute drive in their bus. I wish they would have or allow people to be in the terminal or right outside for shopping especially if you're traveling with little kids and they do not want to be off the ship for very long because they want to explore the ship No saws port has a ton of shopping as soon as you walk off of the ship and then you can go outside the terminal if you want as well I wish more were like this read more

Covid has struck this coastal port as hard as everywhere else. During my visit we were the only ship in port. A port that can usually have 3 large cruise ships at once. The port area was still very clean, but the few shops located in the area were all closed. A note to self and other cruisers- the shuttle offered by the cruise lines for a small price isn't really necessary. Follow the well paved pathed your the left and out the gate. Take the footbridge across the inlet into the Parque de La Bandera, then along the Embarcadero shops. At the Embarcadero Restaurant take a right and go two blocks. You are now on the main shopping street for the town. Total it's a mile walk that takes only 20 minutes, with interesting sites along the way. PS - this community wants their tourists back. They are 90% vaccinated. And insist on masks in their shops. Have opened up several sidewalk seatings for restaurants. read more

LAX is a pain to use and hotels near airport are bad. $110 to get to port from LAX. Same to go back. The "port" itself is a mess. RC was totally hacked up on boarding and debarking - and getting luggage. I upgraded to Jr Suite - we were at the back of the boat and our view was the blue metal roof of the main dining room. 3-4 days of fog. Hot tubs were a cesspool. Specialty restaurants were good as was main dining. The buffet was marginal and service - unless you were Chinese was bad. Will not cruise out of LA again. Royal Caribbean was a disappointment. Caught cold or crud on the boat - sick for two weeks. read more

Easy walking paths to downtown Ensenada from the cruise port area. Some people pay $20 USD to get onto the bus rides, but walking is actually very good for stretching out. There's not much to see at the cruise port area and it wasn't beautiful in my opinion, but the staffs are very welcoming and photographers want your business. Once you get out into the streets, you will feel that this old town Ensenada has great $1-$2.00 Street Tacos. It feels like the U.S., but with with lots of flea markets and smaller taco sheds all along the paths. Street vendors are friendly and everyone seems to speak English fluently. Easy for Americans to navigate. I just wish that there were more appealing landmarks and views where the cruise ship was docked. It was cloudy and a bit windy during this time in September. Great place to stop for brunch/lunch for sure. Lots of cheap eats here at half the cost of what the U.S. dollar can buy in the states. read more
