Recently rented a vehicle here for a weekly rate plus 2 days. The vehicle ran poorly and had a lot of miles on the odometer. Eventually the "engine light" came on. We tried to troubleshoot the problem(s) and found that there was no owners manual in the glove box. We understand that stuff like this happens and the prudent thing to do would have been for us just to return the vehicle and exchange for a different one but that was not a practical option due to certain circumstances and timing. Upon returning the vehicle we politely shared our experience only to be met with and an attitude of complete apathy. PS I got a call from the manager. She was very professional, apologized and she "made it right". I can't ask for more than that. read more

Until today, this WAS my favorite location. This location does NOT supply child car seats. I borrowed a child car seat and carried it with me and the two year old to this Flushing location to pick up my car reservation. When I was taken to the car, I explained that I needed help installing the car seat, and that I could not drive off the lot with a two year old child unless the car seat unless he was seated in a properly installed car seat. As I was getting help with the child car seat installed, "Robbie(sp?)" came over and told his colleagues "do you want to get fired" and "she should call police for the car seat installation." His colleagues stopped helping me install the car seat. I then called 911 who referred me to a local NYPD precinct. The Precinct officer told me that they do not install child car seats, and that Enterprise should not be directing their customers to contact NYPD for help. After wasting an hour (with a crying and restless two year old) at the Enterprise location, I returned the car keys, cancelled the reservation, and returned home without the rental car. There go all the weekend plans. Enterprise made me a return customer because of their customer service. Their nasty and hostile "Robbie" just voided all those years of good will and positive customer relations. Stay away from this location if you have kids or may need help with mandated issues like child safety car seats. read more

I had a great experience here. The car I used was very nice and all the staff were very friendly. The staff member that set me up with my rental car stayed with me for a while to make sure my GPS was set up correctly. I only have 2 small issues: 1) I was given two different numbers in regards to how much would be held on my card. When I called and spoke to Melanie(I think her name is), she gave me a lower hold price than I was given at the counter. It wasn't a big deal, but consistency is good. The other issue is, when I was dropping my car off, I heard the manager I believe offer someone else that was dropping off a ride. I know this is customary with Enterprise rental cars, but I was not offered a ride anywhere, it would have been helpful as the closest train station is not within walking distance(a bus ride away). Besides that, I had no issue, I would definitely use them again. read more

Because I am insured with Esurance, I end up having to need a rental car to get around while my car is being repaired. Esurance found this Enterprise rental car near my house. I dropped my car at the shop, got picked up by Enterprise shuttle services. When I arrived at their location, I was greeted by the friendly bubbly receptionist and within 15 minutes I was on a car. Unfortunately for me the smallest car they had was a GMC Terrain, I drive an accord so you can imagine is a different feeling all together but the transaction was smooth, reservation was done via insurance company on a 3 way call with the Enterprise rental agent. Only thing that would have made it better was to have a small sedan instead of a truck but that location had convertibles, suburbans, other SUV and no small sedans at the time I got my rental sometime about 3pm. Everyone was friendly, attentive and they understand that time is money so they take care of you really quick. I will be on this rental for about 15 days.. read more

First, because my life motto is "spare no expense," my rental car was setup through my awesome insurance agent, Dr. Geico. But the people at Enterprise really knew how to roll out the red carpet. My boy Winston was fast and efficient and he even had a pleasant musk to him. DON'T RENT HERE. Showed up with a reservation and was told the vehicle I reserved was not available, got stuck in a minivan instead. Had to wait 25 minutes and I was the only client there. All this is fine and I would still have given 4 stars but when returning vehicle, was confronted by an extremely rude employee ( male, tall, fat, Caucasian ). My wife pulled the rental in and I pulled in behind her. He started yelling and demanding I move my vehicle before asking a single question. Who in the F*** would hire such a nasty person? I had to get my car fixed, so I needed to rent a car. Next morning I had an important meeting at the hospital where my mom was staying in Suffolk county at 1:30pm, so I decided to reserve a car online to be ready by 11am thinking that it gave me a plenty of time and no hassle. I saw that they offer a pick up service, so I called the location to reserve it. I was told I needed to call the day of and an hour before. I did just that next day, called at 10:30am for a 11:30am pick up. But the car didn't show up by 11:30, so I called around 11:36 to make sure someone was heading over and was told, yes the driver should be by in 5-10 minutes. He didn't show up 'till noon. By the time I got dropped off, it was 12:15pm. Even though there were three employees at the location, only two were working. The third employee was too busy chatting with someone, non-work related. When I was finally assisted, I specifically told him I had to get going quickly because of a meeting I needed to get to. He said no problem and guided me to a car outside. As I waited for him to hand over the key to "my car", he started to vacuum the inside of it. I thought the only reason he decided to do that was because he noticed there were some orange peels sitting in the cup holder. It was already 12:35 and I told him, there is no need because I really needed to get going or else I was going to be late! I didn't get to leave 'till 12:45 or so and I WAS late for the meeting. The worst part was when I got back into the car that evening and it smelled like something had died in the car! AWFUL!! No wonder the employee vacuumed despite me telling him I had to leave right away! I called the location ASAP and demanded to switch out the car next morning as it was too late for me to get to Queens that night. For all the trouble I went through, I was only given $30 discount and a free upgrade for next rental. I doubt I'll ever go back! read more

not sure what's up with the two bad reviews written years ago; I had no problems with Enterprise, though I only needed them for an emergency. it wasn't perfect, but I got what I needed out of it while Astrotrain was at Star Toyota for repairs a few blocks over. I had no problems whatsoever here. service was friendly and efficient on Tuesday night when I got the car. it was in good condition, everything was explained clearly, and they didn't harass you into buying more than you needed. for $11 I purchased a limited insurance policy - better safe than sorry. the rest of the costs seemed fair, though it was all covered by my Toyota warranty so I can't complain about paying only 11 bucks out of pocket for a car I only had for 24 hours. some potential room for improvement: make your closing hours officially 7 PM (at 6:20, there were still lots of people waiting) on some nights, and hire another 1 or 2 people. Tuesday night was no problem, as there were only 3 customers and 2 staff members, but on Wednesday (when I returned the car) there was a big crowd and only 3 people working. again, not a service that I need to use often, but it's good to know it exists as a backup for emergencies. read more

Just got back from picking up my rental car here, and my was it a frustrating experience. I waited there for 2 hours because "the car wasn't ready." Then, after 2 hours they told me that they didn't have the size (economy) that I wanted. So instead of giving me an upgrade, they made me pay walk-up rates for a larger sized car. Mind you, a larger sized car that I could've picked up 2 hours earlier had they just told me that they didn't have an economy car. Bye-bye Enterprise. You've lost my business forever. read more

I had TERRIBLE service at this location!!!! I recently reserved (days ahead) a cargo van at this location and my reservation was not honored. I was contacted the night before to confirm that I will be picking up the van, I confirmed and agreed, "YES, a cargo van." I called again in the morning to confirm once again that they will have a cargo van because I had taken the day off to move to my new apartment, the man that answered said, "Yes, no problem, we have your reservation and we are ready for you." I reached the location and was rudely greeted by the manager, Amanda Archdeacon. When I gave her my reservation she said they didn't have a cargo van and they attempted to reach me to tell me. LIES!!!! Immediately this was infuriating! She never made eye contact and brush us off like we didn't matter. When questioned on why would someone tell me the night before and the morning of that there was a cargo van available, she simply ignored the question and kept typing. Obviously, at this point we were mad. Again when asked why no one mentioned or left a voicemail or something to tell me there was no cargo van, she responded with, "I don't know, I didn't think of that." WHAT KIND OF MANAGER ARE YOU!!!!! I've contacted headquarters, filed a complaint and I never heard back from ANYONE. This company is terrible and this Flushing location is HORRIBLE!!! First time I used these guys in Jan 2014 after our car was damaged because of the snow storm, I needed a rental through my insurance company. They were super courteous when I got there, very polite, and reminded me when I was in private school and they taught us etiquette and proper manners. I went there yesterday (old school in person style) to see if I could get a better deal because online reservation wasn't giving me enough mileage for my planned trip. I wanted to see if I could get a lower rate for a 4-day minivan rental. Although the rep, James (who is cool and nice) wasn't able to lower it, he thought about my options with me and plugged in some numbers and said if I purchased an additional day, then they were having a promotion where they'd give an extra 2 days for free - so 7 days for the price of 5! My mileage would then significantly increase to cover my trip. He even lowered by overage mile charge from $0.25/mi to $0.15 - and although that doesn't seem like a lot, I appreciated the gesture and time he took. Although I ultimately found an even better deal elsewhere, I give them 5 stars for customer service (a lady who was there said she keeps coming back to them because how nice these guys are) - seems too good to be true, hope everyone has a good experience here. I would knock off one star for the crummy location and tiny lot, but that's not their fault - they do well regardless. Don't judge this branch by its cover. read more

Just don't use this rental place extremely poor service .When we booked the car they failed to inform us that they only hold the car for only a hour .I don't have a problem with this policy but it would've been nice of them to inform us of that.However the biggest issue was when I returned the car in the morning I mistakenly left my personal ez-pass on the windshield in less then two hours I realized my mistake and my ez pass was gone .When I called to report it I was put on hold for about 15 mins to only be told my ez pass was gone being the only person in the car either it vanished or they pocketed the ez pass for themselves. I pressed the issue I was told I was arguing with them and hung up on I don't have a problem with enterprise as a company just this particular enterprise on northern blvd if you have to go a little further to rent a car I believe it would save you a headache . read more

There's always two people in the front and how ever many people in the back and they always feel the need to stare when you walk in. Would be five stars, As the most local spot that not an airport, this is the go-to location for our car rentals. It is usually pretty busy in there, show up ten minutes before your pick-up time to try to keep it close to your time. Use the app/online to make things a little easier on yourself. We received a rental car from another Enterprise, which went well. However, nearby to this location, we got a flat. Erik and Rich were so unbelievably helpful and kind to us both during our phone conversations and in person. Although this was a very stressful experience for us, these 2 bent over backwards to make sure that we had another car. Even though we were a last minute reservation, they tried their best to get us a car that was comparable. They didn't have anything available in "stock," so they gave us a larger car (which made me very nervous!). Seeing this, they offered for me to return tomorrow and would try to get us either into the SAME car we left (tire fixed and everything!), or something smaller if they had it available. I've rented from this location a couple times now & each time, I was met with very courteous & helpful employees. To name a few, Lisa, Frank, Toni, Brianna and Kevin. But seriously, everyone was so nice and friendly. At the end of each trip, they always ask how the trip/car was :) they also have a car service should you need a ride back to a different location! I always book the vehicles online, which I recommend others to do. You can easily look through what type of car you need to rent and cost. Once I book in advance, I show up the day of & the check in is so quick. I've always walked in and out with a car no longer than 5 minutes (I go in early morning so wait time will obviously longer if there are more customers) but! they're so nice so be patient and you'll get your ride :) check out also took about 5 minutes. I came in with the car, they let you know final cost & you're good to go :) For one of my trips, I needed the car a day earlier than planned. I called the location and Toni was courteous on the phone and was super helpful. They had to call other locations to find the car I had rented. She called me back a while later to let me know I can come in to get the car! :D Another time, I had mentioned I was going to the Hamptons & at the end of my trip, Lisa asked how the trip to Hamptons was. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but I was A) Throughly impressed by her memory & a bit jealous how she remembered that and wished my memory was as good as hers & B) "little" things like this indicates the employee cares. The people at Hempstead were more than nice and everything went swimmingly. However, I did not reserve a rental car from hempstead. I had put my reservation online through enterprise to pick my car up at Mineola. After getting to Mineola I was made aware that they did not have the car I reserved. I had to wait several minutes, then took a trip all the way to hempstead where they had a car. It was extremely inconvenient to go back and forth, especially since I had made the reservation in advance. Like I said, hempstead was fine...Mineola, not so much! read more

I called at 9 am so I would be one of the first pick ups. As I was giving my number the employee put me on hold. He came back 30 second later and took my number and never repeated it. He also wrote down my last name wrong. Of course the time He told me he'd pick me up 930-945 passed. I called at10 and they told me they called and my number was disconnected. Now I have to wait another 30 minutes. Isn't it common business practice to repeat name and number. So annoyed!!!!! How do u get both pieces of information wrong. Waste an hour on a Sunday.
